Walter John Ferguson, 85

Walter John Ferguson, of Pickerel, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Aspirus Langlade Hospital. He was 85 years old. He was born on April 3, 1932 in Maquoketa, Iowa and was raised in Clinton, Iowa. Walter was a son of the late Walter and Virginia (Pain) Ferguson. He married Sally Fraser on February 10, 1962 in Appleton and they enjoyed 55 wonderful loving years together.

He served in the United States Army during the Korean War, having been stationed in California.

Walter received his Bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Iowa and his Master’s degree from Eastern Michigan University.

He was a self-employed business consultant under the name, Quotients, in Silicon Valley. He was also CEO of two Silicon Valley Semiconductor companies and authored the book, The New Business Normal.

Walter, along with his wife, Sally, was on the building committee for the Nashville Community Center and within the center was able to set up a permanent historical display of the Pickerel area.
He is survived by his wife, Sally; a son, Mark (Cory) Ferguson of Bakersfield, Calif. and their children: Tyler and his daughter Tatum, Blade, Ryann and Brandon; a daughter, Jody (Brian) Rogers of Phoenix, Ariz. and their children: Lotus and Jasmine; a sister Faye Jankowski of Port St. Lucie, Fla. and a sister-in-law, Helen Ferguson of Cincinnati, Ohio. He is also survived by nieces, nephews other relatives, friends and his furry friend, 10ER.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

A memorial gathering will take place this summer. More details will be published in a future edition of the Antigo Daily Journal.
