William “Bill” Hayes, 70
William Hayes, of Antigo, died Friday, April 14, 2017 at Wisconsin Veterans Home in King. He was 70 years old. He was born on January 20, 1947 in Antigo, a son of William and Dolores (Berlin) Hayes.
He graduated from Antigo High School with the class of 1965.
He served with the United States Army in Vietnam.
Following military service Bill worked as a machinist in Milwaukee. He returned to Antigo in 1979 and worked as a logger for his brother Archie.
One year ago Bill was honored to fly on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight to Washington D.C. and tour our nations war memorials.
Survivors include a brother, Wayne (Beverly) Hayes, Michigan; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Hayes (Robert Kalke), Antigo; three nieces Laurie Hayes (Glenn Anderson), Michigan; Nicole (Steve) Hayes, Gleason; Kelli Reissmann (Ryan Peck), Merrill; one nephew Kevin (Emily) Reissmann, Pennsylvania; one great nephew Evan Reissmann.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Archie Hayes; three sisters, Virginia Reissmann and two in infancy; a brother-in-law Donald Reissmann.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday April 20, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. at Forest view Cemetery in the town of Vilas.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Bradley Funeral Home. The Antigo veterans will conduct military rites at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
