ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, May 1st
12:40 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report information on a possible scam. She told officers that she received a Spectrum bill in the mail for over $200 from a company called Convergent Resourcing. The female told officers that she never had Spectrum. She also told officers that after she did some research, she found out that Convergent Resourcing was a fraudulent company.
2:19 PM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident at 4th Avenue and Superior Street in the parking lot of an area business, involving a female subject from Antigo and a male subject from Wausau.
3:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting credit card fraud involving a $300 transaction at a gas station. Officers were given the name of a possible suspect. Officers were looking at the store video and investigating.
3:15 PM Officers responded to several calls reporting that a truck that was in traffic near 9th Avenue and Superior Street had lost a wheel. The driver was a male subject from Milwaukee. A voluntary report was completed.
4:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that items were stolen from her locked garage on Charlotte Street. Some of the items included: bags of bedding, Christmas and Easter decorations, beanie babies, fishing poles, a cooler, a tool box and a leather jacket. On May 5th, the female subject also informed officers that she had noticed items missing from the house.
Tuesday, May 2nd
12:53 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The male driver was cited for failure to keep his vehicle under control.
2:02 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for an improper right turn.
11:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Hudson Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related.
Wednesday, May 3rd
12:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlamp.
5:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was arrested for driving after revocation, operating while intoxicated related and was given a verbal warning for speed.
Thursday, May 4th
7:06 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he had rocks and grass in the oil tank of his vehicle. He told officers that he thought it happened either at the courthouse in Crandon or at his residence on 7th Avenue.
11:59 AM Officers referred a male student at Antigo Middle School for disorderly conduct.
12:34 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 5th Avenue reporting that he witnessed a female subject being struck by a vehicle on 5th Avenue in front of an area business. Officers found out that the female driver of the striking vehicle had just left an area business on Superior Street, going eastbound on 4th Avenue. She almost struck two other vehicles head on as she came around the corner towards 5th Avenue. The female subject then failed to stop at the stop sign and attempted to go west on 5th Avenue. She then crossed 5th Avenue and struck a legally parked car. The female owner of that vehicle was standing by the rear of the car, still in the roadway, as she had just parked there. The other female’s vehicle struck both the car and the female subject, throwing her up across the sidewalk and then she struck the neighboring building. The striking vehicle then continued, going up onto the sidewalk and striking the building. It then continued westbound on the sidewalk another 100 feet across the bridge and stopping on the sidewalk. Officers checked with Aspirus hospital in Wausau on the condition of the female victim. She had severe bruises and soreness, but no broken bones.
9:31 PM Officers responded to a report of two children on the top of the train by the museum on 5th Avenue. Officers advised the children not to play on trains.
Friday, May 5th
1:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance and was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
2:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 64 and Jerome Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation.
4:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on 4th Avenue. The female driver was issued a citation for operating while suspended.
5:06 PM Officers received a call from the owner of a local restaurant on Hwy. 64 reporting that some diners had left the business without paying for their food. Officers talked to the female customer. She told officers that the food was cold and they didn’t feel that they should have to pay. Officers asked them about the drinks and they stated that they felt shouldn’t have to pay anything. Officers were following up.
6:50 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a male shoplifter that got away. The male subject was described as wearing a gray shirt, with shorts and a Wisconsin cap. He left in gold Durango. The caller gave officers the license plate number. He was last seen turning on Amron Avenue. Officers were investigating.
9:40 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that two male subjects were on the water tower near the caller’s residence on Arctic Street. Officers arrested one of the male subjects on a hold through Probation and Parole.
11:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a female subject was slumped over the wheel, passed out at an area business on Superior Street. The caller gave officers a description of the female subject. Officers transported the female subject to her residence and turned her over to her husband. She was heavily medicated and disoriented.
Saturday, May 6th
12:51 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance.
2:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating with no headlights and operating without a driver’s license on them.
2:23 AM Officers were behind an area business on 5th Avenue with intoxicated male subject. When officers told the male subject that he would be cited for open intoxicants on the premises, the male threw a beer bottle at a brick wall. Officers then also cited the male subject for disorderly conduct.
9:26 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting that they caught someone dumping garbage in their dumpster. They found the name of a female subject on a receipt in the garbage. The caller told officers that the female left in a blue Durango. Officers talked with the female subject’s brother and advised him that she would be cited if it happened again.
3:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a vehicle went by her residence on Weix Street very fast. She was concerned because she had children playing outside. The vehicle was described as a white Subaru. The female caller also told officers that when she saw the vehicle coming back down the street, she went into the street, blocked the vehicle and talked to the driver. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
6:26 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Lincoln Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was cited for non-registration.
7:26 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that while at her parent’s home on 4th Avenue, the window in her van was smashed. She told officers that she had arrived there at 5:30pm. They did not see or hear anything and were unsure when it happened.
Sunday, May 7th
12:46 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Hwy. 64. The driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
2:34 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a female shoplifter. Officers arrested the female for retail theft, bail jumping, obstructing and possession of a controlled substance.
7:08 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male subject walked out the business with stolen items. Another male subject walked out to the vehicle and there was another subject in the vehicle. One male subject was arrest for shoplifting. Another male subject was cited for shoplifting.
8:05 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that she lost her wallet at an area business on Amron Avenue on Friday, May 5th between 5:00-5:30 PM. She went back to the business to try and get the wallet back. She found out that the business had video of someone picking up the wallet. Officers were investigating.
9:23 PM Officers received a call from a female on 5th Avenue reporting that she believed that someone stole her cell phone. She told officers that it had been on her night stand. The caller gave officers the name of a possible female suspect. The female subject denied any wrong doing. Officers were investigating.
Monday, May 8th
12:49 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 8th Avenue and Field Street. The male driver was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, May 3rd
2:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that while putting in phone line at Cty. Rd. M & White Lake Drive, their truck was parked on the shoulder of the road and a semi hit the truck when it came around the corner. The caller told officers that the semi driver had stopped and talked to him, but at the time the caller believed that the damage was minimal and told him to move along without getting any information from him. Upon closer inspection, the caller now believed that the tie rod was broken making the vehicle not drivable. The striking vehicle was described as a white semi with a black square logo. The truck was towed. A state report was completed.
5:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she was scammed out of money. She told officers that she received a call from someone claiming to be the police and that her grandson was arrested and he would sit in jail unless she paid $1,000 in bail. The male subject on the phone told her that his name was Officer Joe Kent and he said that her grandson was in the Marathon County jail. Then someone else came on the phone, and the female thought that it was her grandson. The callers told the female that her grandson’s car was stopped and drugs and a gun were in it. They told the female to get a gift card for the $1,000 and call them back with the numbers and security code, which she did. The female then received another call from the “officer,” asking for $500 more. Then the female called her grandson, and found out that he was never in jail. The female gave police officers the phone number that had been calling her. When officers called the number, a male subject answered. When asked who he was, he said that he was Joe Kent. When officers told him about the investigation, the male subject hung up. On 5-8-17, the female received another call from the subjects. When she did not answer, they left a message saying that they would call back.
Thursday, May 4th
2:13 PM Officers responded to a call from the Elcho School reporting that $100 was stolen from a Humane Society donation container at the school. They asked that an officer stop by the school and talk to some students. 5-5-17 9:30 AM Officers called all the 7th grade students into a room and asked what happened, but no one knew anything. Officers did talk to one male student separately. They were still investigating.
2:46 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct at White Lake School.
11:56 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting a 55 year old male semi-conscious, breathing heavy with a possible diabetic reaction in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 55. The subject was in a maroon pickup truck. Upon arrival, officers noted there were several items in the back of the truck. Some of the items included – a small aluminum boat, a snow blower, 2 chainsaws, 2 mini bikes and several electronic items. The one male subject was transported to the hospital. A teletype was sent to the Oconto County Sheriff’s office to check for any possible stolen items. The other male subject in the vehicle requested a ride to Oconto from officers, but he refused to let officers search his property. He decided to walk. When questioned about all of the items in the back of the truck, the two men had differing stories about where the items came from and where they were going. The information was forwarded to the Oconto County Sheriff’s office.
Friday, May 5th
11:32 AM Officers responded to several reports of a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. X. A citation was issued to one of the drivers.
3:39 PM Officers responded to a call from On-Star reporting a vehicle versus tree accident on Waterpower Road. The male driver had an injury to his hand. There were no other injuries and extrication was not needed. The vehicle was towed.
Saturday, May 6th
12:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. S and Cty. Rd. F. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
6:36 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Post Lake Drive reporting that the night before, some neighbors about 5 houses down were shooting and one of the bullets went whizzing past his group while they were fishing on the pier. He told officers that he believed it was a .22 and possibly a handgun. He said that they shot at least 50 times. Officers spoke with the male subject at the residence. He said that they were shooting a .22 caliber at a piece of wood that was facing the lake. Officers advised the male subject of the complaint and told him to be more conscious of the neighbors.
9:13 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 55. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, drug related.
Sunday, May 7th
2:50 AM Officers stopped a female driver in a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. M. As the officer was pulling the female subject over, another vehicle with a male driver pulled up behind the officer’s vehicle. The female driver told officers that she had seen the male driver of the other vehicle swerving all over the road earlier. The female driver was released to leave. The male driver of the other vehicle was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
