Elaine A. Walters, of Antigo, died Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Eastview Medical and Rehab Center. She was 85 years old. She was born on November 10, 1931 in the town of Neva, a daughter of the late Charles and Ella (Johanek) Houdek. She married Melbourne Walters on October 28, 1953 at St. Wencel Catholic Church, Neva.

She graduated from Antigo High School in 1949.

Elaine was a nursing assistant at Langlade Hospital for over 40 years.

She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and the Altar Society and was involved with church activities.

Elaine was a loving wife and mother and cherished her time with grandchildren. She loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She enjoyed trips to the casino with relatives.

In addition to her husband, survivors include two sons, Robert Walters of Antigo and James (Lea) Walters of Hortonville; two grandchildren, Tyler and Patricia Walters both of Hortonville; four sisters, Evelyn Schmoll of Antigo, Dorothy Mach of Little Chute, Shirley Drexler of Chicago, IL and Arlene Plzak of Antigo; two brothers, Eugene (Eunice) Houdek of Antigo and Robert Houdek of Bryant.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 12 at 11 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Burial will take place in Queen of Peace Cemetery. Visitation will Thursday, May 11 from 3 to 7 p.m. with a parish wake service at 6 p.m. and Friday, May 12 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. all at the Bradley Funeral Home.
