Jean Savina, 88
Jean Savina, of Antigo, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 88 years old. She was born on January 19, 1929 in Antigo, a daughter of Peter and Magdaline (Noskowiak) Samolinski. She married Alfred Savina on September 16, 1950 at St. Hyacinth Catholic Church in Antigo. He survives.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1947.
As a young lady she worked at Kay Dee Supermarket in Antigo as a clerk for several years before beginning a long career as a dental receptionist for Dr. Raymond Portman and later for Dr. Stanley Brown. She retired in 2008.
Mrs. Savina was a member of SS. Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church and its Rosary Society where she served as president and vice president. She enjoyed embroidery, completing puzzles and reading. She valued time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors including her husband are two daughters, Cathy (Frank) Pugliese, Des Moines, Iowa, Susan Roby, Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Andrew Savina, Sussex, Mitchell (Aimee) Savina, Antigo; 9 Grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, James (Betty) Samolinski, Winneconne.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Joan (Mike) Smolinski, three brothers, Donald (Lois) Samolinski, and two in infancy.
The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday May 27, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Mary & Hyacinth Catholic Church with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating.
Visitation will be 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the Bradley Funeral Home and 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
A parish wake service will be held at 4 p.m. Friday and the Rosary society wake service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established in Jean’s name for local heart care. Donations may be directed to the family.
