ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, May 29th
12:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for two defective tail lights.
12:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Badger Avenue and Arctic Street. The driver was cited for speed.
2:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
12:41 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that sometime the night before, someone broke into his garage on 5th Avenue and stole some items that he was going to sell at a rummage sale. The only items taken were some expensive fishing poles. The caller told officers that his neighbors were having a fire until 1am, and at approximately 12:30am the neighbor saw a male and female walk between his house and the neighbors and go into the neighbor’s back yard. The subjects were described as average in size and both wearing white hoodies. The female subject was wearing jeans and appeared to be carrying a diaper bag. The male subject had a black backpack. Officers also found tire tracks going into the back yard. The caller told officers that they were not there before. Officers were unsure if it was related.
2:02 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a female shoplifter. The female subject was arrested for retail theft.
3:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she found out who had been on her property on Field Street. She told officers that someone told her that it was a male subject that lived just to the north of her. She went there to confront him, but he threatened her stating he was ex-military and she should get the “F” off his property. She told him to stay off her property also. Officers talked with the male subject. He told officers that the female subject was the one causing the scene. Officers advised the male subject to stay away from her property.
4:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 3rd Avenue reporting that her eight year old son and a friend were playing in the yard when a couple of kids came into the yard who had a knife and threatened them. The caller told officers that the male subject never came that close to her son with the knife, but did slash the knife in their direction. Officers talked with the male subject who had the knife. He stated that he did it because the caller’s son did it to him the other day. Officers collected the knife to be destroyed.
5:10 PM Officers responded to a call from an auto recovery company reporting that they were repossessing a vehicle on Mary Street and the male subject was not being cooperative. The caller told officers that the male subject threatened him. Officers talked the male subject who denied threatening the caller. Officers arrested the male subject on a probation hold.
7:04 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a motorcyclist was driving recklessly on Virginia Street. The caller gave officers the motorcyclist’s address. Officers spoke with the male subject about his driving habits.
10:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for an improper display of registration.
11:19 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day written correction notice for expired registration and was cited for operating without proof of insurance.
11:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Spruce Street. The driver was cited for no proof of insurance.
Tuesday, May 30th
2:08 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a 7 day correction notice for expired registration.
5:26 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
12:11 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he received a fake $50 bill. He told officers that back in December/January, he gave a male subject $50 to purchase some marijuana, which he didn’t get back. He had been asking for the money, and on May 26th he was given a $50 bill, but it had some Chinese marking on it. The reporting male took the bill to the bank and they said it was counterfeit, so he brought the bill to the Safety Building. Officers did some research and found out that these bills are used in Chinese banks as practice bills for their tellers to learn American currency. The Chinese writing on them basically says that it is not for circulation.
1:51 PM Officers responded to call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a female shoplifter. The female subject from Wausau was cited for retail theft and was released.
4:45 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was southbound on Superior Street. Vehicle 2 was making a left turn. Vehicle 2 turned out onto Superior Street and collided with Vehicle 1. The female driver of Vehicle 2 stated that she did not see Vehicle 1. Both vehicles were towed. A report was completed.
9:20 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Superior Street involving a dark blue Chrysler van and a newer grey Jeep Cherokee. There were no injuries. The male driver of one of the vehicles was cited for operating without a license. A report was completed.
11:27 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
11:34 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. They were also cited for prohibited alcohol contents, open intoxicants, and were given a written warning for unsafe lane deviation.
Wednesday, May 31st
5:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
9:51 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that there was a female subject next to the business with a sign asking for gas. The caller stated that the female subject had a different car earlier in the day and then a male subject came and they switched vehicles. Officers told the subjects to move along.
3:21 PM Officers received a call from an area business on 6th Avenue reporting that a male subject had been naked in the window of an area hotel, while the caller’s daughter had been outside mowing the lawn. Officers talked to the male subject who admitted to standing in the window naked, but he said that he wasn’t doing anything lascivious. Officers talked to another female who witnessed the subject in the window. She believed that he was watching the female mowing the lawn. The male subject was cited for disorderly conduct.
7:23 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a female detained for retail theft. The female was cited for retail theft. The female subject was also already on probation for retail theft. Probation was notified and a hold was put on her.
Thursday, June 1st
5:08 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 5th Avenue. The male driver was given a 7 day correction warning for expired registration.
5:27 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for failure to stop at a stop sign.
5:35 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was cited for failure to fasten their seatbelt and no proof of insurance.
6:02 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Pit Road. The driver was cited for speed.
3:48 PM Officers responded to a call from male on 6th Avenue reporting a missing UPS package from Amazon. The caller had verified with Amazon that the package had been delivered that day and left at the front door. Officers talked with other residents in the building, but received no further information. Officers told the male subject that he would receive the police report and then could follow up with UPS.
4:32 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that his truck was hit while it was parked in the lot of an area business on Superior Street. The striking vehicle left. The caller’s vehicle had a small scrape on his bumper. Officers were unable to locate the other vehicle. Officer would be following up.
4:34 PM Officers responded to call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male juvenile shoplifter. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
6:26 PM Officers were out with some subjects at an area business on Neva Road. Officers arrested a male subject on a Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrant.
8:22 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that an orange GT Mustang was passing in a no passing zone and driving at a high rate of speed on Hwy. 45/47. Officers also received a second call about the vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The male driver was cited for speed and was warned about his reckless driving.
10:09 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her vehicle was hit while parked at an area business on 5th Avenue. A report was completed.
11:11 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a male subject passed out in a parking lot on 5th Avenue. Officers talked with the male subject who was attempting to get into the building where he was staying, but he was having troubles due to his level of intoxication. He told officers that he would get ahold of his girlfriend to let him in the building.
11:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was with another male subject at 5th Avenue and Dorr Street and the other male subject was intoxicated and wanted an officer. Officers assisted the intoxicated male subject into his apartment, with his groceries, on Dorr Street.
Friday, June 2nd
8:08 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Watson Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
9:05 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:06 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a gas drive off of $29.99. The red vehicle left going northbound on Superior St. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. V. The female subject had attempted to pay at the pump, but the card did not go through. The female subject from California was connected with the business to settle the bill.
11:29 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in a parking lot on 6th Avenue. Property damage only.
7:17 PM Officers responded to a minor two vehicle accident in the intersection of Mendlik Avenue and Edison Street. There were no injuries.
9:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
Saturday, June 3rd
12:28 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for defective headlights.
1:17 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Mendlik Street and Clermont Avenue. The driver was cited inadequate tread depth and was given a 10 day written warning for no insurance.
3:57 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
3:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. Both parties were cited for seatbelt violations.
6:12 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report the theft of her orange Snapper riding mower that had been parked at her daughter’s house on Lincoln Street. It was last seen on 5/22/17. It had been parked on the side of her house, near the alley.
7:53 PM Officers received a call from an employee of an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a female subject that had been in the store that was biting herself on the wrist and arm and was jumpy, like she was “on something.” The female subject was described as skinny, about 5’4” with brown hair. She left going northbound. Officers were advised.
Sunday, June 4th
1:28 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.
2:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
2:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Western Avenue and Cty. Rd. Y. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:09 AM A male came to the Safety Building to report that he had two bikes stolen from a residence on 5th Avenue. The bikes were described as a black BMX dirt bike and a blue Mongoose mountain bike.
11:31 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone just backed into the front of his truck in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. There was little to no damage. A voluntary report was completed.
5:48 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Field Street. The driver was cited for failure to fasten their seatbelt.
6:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Langlade Road and E. 5th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
6:44 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a male subject was lying on the ground by the walking trail at Virginia Street and 2nd Avenue with beer cans all around him. The male subject was cited for open intoxicants and he was warned for loitering. He claimed to be homeless.
7:18 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in a parking lot on 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
7:46 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 stating that they were in pursuit of an African-American male subject wearing a white t-shirt, gray sweat pants with a white back pack. The subject later dropped the back pack. One male subject was detained. He gave officers some information about the other male subject. Officers were investigating.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Saturday, June 3rd
12:41 PM Officers responded to several reports of a two car accident south of Antigo between Cty. Rd. G & Cty. Rd. X. One female was complaining of leg pain. No extrication was needed. An ambulance was refused by all occupants. The male driver of one vehicle was traveling southbound on Hwy. 45, slowed and attempted to make a U-turn to go north again. The female driver of the other vehicle struck the male’s vehicle. The male subject was cited for inattentive driving. Both vehicles were towed. A state report was completed.
7:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on North Avenue. The female driver was arrested for operating without a license, 2nd offense.
10:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 52 and Otto Mauk Road. The male driver was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Sunday, June 4th
9:23 AM Officers responded to a call from a female at an area business on Cty. Rd. K in Elcho reporting that sometime the day before, a lady was doing her laundry and when she went to put her clothes in the dryer, she cut herself. When they looked, there was a razor blade wedged in the dryer door, so someone would get cut. A female witness told officers that she had seen a younger male subject, approximately 12 years old, with black curly hair & riding a lime green bike in the laundromat for a while. Officers were investigating.
12:01 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on W. Shore Drive report that 12 flamingo yard decorations worth approximately $90 and a hanging basket worth approximately $25 were stolen from his driveway.
12:21 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that a vehicle just went through a stop sign at Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. K and ended up in the swamp about five feet off of the highway. The occupants reported that they were not injured, but were still in the vehicle. The two male subjects were from Indiana. Officers warned the male driver and advised him to pay closer attention from now on. The vehicle was towed out of the swamp.
1:39 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject from Oconomowoc reporting that his vehicle was on fire on Hwy. 45, near Cty. Rd. B. It had caught fire while he was driving down the road.
8:18 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting an accident at Cty. Rd. AA and Cty. Rd. S. One vehicle was rolled over in the ditch. Officers found four female subjects inside the vehicle upon their arrival. They reported that the driver had been an unknown male subject that they picked up who was hitchhiking and they had let him drive the vehicle. He apparently fled on foot. The witness told officers that he did not recall seeing anyone leave the area. He also told officers that the vehicle had passed him on a curve, in a no passing zone, at an estimated speed of 70 MPH. It appeared that the driver lost control as the vehicle came back to the right lane after passing the caller.
Monday, June 5th
7:30 PM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch in front of the Pleasantview School on Cty. Rd. HH. There was no road blockage and no injuries. The male driver told officers that he took the curve too fast. There was no damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was removed by a family member.
9:16 PM Officers received a call from a male on Hwy. 45 reporting that he had a Terra Trike Rambler 3 wheel orange bike in his truck bed that fell off the truck. He told officers that he had retraced his travel route, but couldn’t find it. It was valued at approximately $2,000. It was entered as stolen. Officers were advised.
Tuesday, June 6th
Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Dorr Street in Elcho. A male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
