ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 5th
5:54 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
3:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his 24” green/black mountain bike was stolen from an area business on Clermont Street. Officers viewed the business’s video and were able to identify the female subject that took the bike. The bike was located the female subject’s residence on 2nd Avenue. The female subject was referred for theft.
5:12 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on North Avenue reporting that his residence had been trashed and he was missing some silver coins. He told officers that he had recently been released from the hospital and he could not locate the male subject that was housesitting for him. The coins were worth approximately $2,000. Officers were investigating.
9:42 PM Officers responded to call from a male reporting a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 between a 2008 Dodge Caliber and 2000 Ford 150. There were no injuries.
10:40 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that on most nights around 10:00 PM a loud, blue Chevy Cavalier with ground effects has been “screaming” past his house on 10th Avenue. The vehicle was last seen going east on 10th Avenue. Officers were advised.
11:49 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
Tuesday, June 6th
1:15 AM Officers were out with two male subjects and one female subject on the corner of 7th Avenue and Lincoln Street. Officers found multiple beer cans in the street. One male subject had a 12 pack of beer in the back of his car. Officers cited the other male subject for underage alcohol.
9:46 AM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that while she was applying for health insurance, it popped up on the internet that she had worked at a business where she had never worked. She wanted to file an identity theft complaint.
4:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a break-in at a residence on 5th Avenue. Items were missing. Officers were investigating.
10:57 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 5th offense and domestic disorderly conduct.
Wednesday, June 7th
1:49 AM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she had been followed too closely by a vehicle. The caller told officers that at some point she ended up following that vehicle, which then stopped and tried to open the door on her vehicle. She told officers that the incident occurred about 10 minutes prior to her call. She then told officers that she was outside the Safety Building and wished to see an officer. She told officers that the vehicle was the same vehicle that she had seen city officers out with on a traffic stop.
6:57 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he watches an apartment building on Nantasket Street and he had been told by other tenants that people had been staying in a vacant apartment. Officers did not find anyone in the building. The caller did locate some needles that were placed in a Sharps container. Officers advised the male subject to change the locks.
10:22 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the driveway of a residence on 2nd Avenue. Vehicle 1 was backing north out of his car port, located in the back of his house. Vehicle 2 was legally parked facing north, along the side of his garage. Vehicle 1 backed 30 feet straight into the rear of Vehicle 2, causing Vehicle 2 to slide slightly forward and to the side four feet. Vehicle 1 also struck the garage, but caused no damage. Vehicle 2 had damage to the rear bumper. A voluntary report was completed. The driver of Vehicle 1 was written for re-exam.
2:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had a male subject working on his skid steer, and he now found the skid steer at an area scrap yard. Officers were investigating.
2:53 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a gas drive-off of $5.01. The vehicle was described as a silver, four door. The male driver left going southbound on Superior Street. Officers were able to track down the driver. He told officers that he would go back to the business and pay. Officers later checked with the business and found out that the male subject had paid for the fuel.
6:23 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a red pickup truck was driving with road rage and speeding at Hwy. 64 and 45. The vehicle was very loud and driving erratically. Officers found the vehicle parked on Kelly Street. Officers spoke with two male subjects who denied any involvement.
7:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that four small children (including one that was naked) were running around outside on 2nd Avenue and did not have any parental supervision. The reporting male had knocked on the door, but no one answered. A male subject immediately came out of the residence when officers arrived. He told officers that he would take care of the situation.
Thursday, June 8th
5:31 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The driver was cited for speed.
1:17 PM Officers received a call from the employee of an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male subject threw his personal garbage in their dumpster even after he had been told he couldn’t throw it in there. The caller gave officers the male subject’s license plate number. The vehicle was described as an older, brown truck. Officers were investigating.
2:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone in a black Chevy Prizm hit a parked blue Jeep in the parking lot of the courthouse and then left. Officers looked at the parked vehicle. They did not observe any damage at all. Officers spoke with the female driver of the Chevy Prizm. She admitted to hitting the bumper of the other vehicle. She told officers that she did not report the incident, because she didn’t know what to do. Officers told her to be more careful and report any incidents in the future.
4:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she was pushing her baby in a stroller and a guy almost hit them in a parking lot on 5th Avenue. The female told officers that she yelled at the male driver and he sped away, hitting both her and the baby with gravel, while yelling “F***k Y*u” at the female. The female came to the Safety Building to speak to officers. The baby was fine. She told officers that she did not want any more action taken.
9:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. One subject was taken into custody on an Oneida County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to pay a fine on drug related charges.
10:21 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:44 PM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a bluish gray Nissan Pathfinder was parked with its engine running and female subject was passed out behind the steering wheel and a male subject was passed out in the passenger’s seat. The caller told officers that the vehicle had been there for 10 to 15 minutes. Officers gave the male and female subjects sobriety tests. They were then released.
Friday, June 9th
12:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was cited for operating without insurance.
3:22 AM Officers were out with a group of kids at Castle Park on Field Street. The kids were throwing glow sticks arounds. Officers advised the juveniles that the park closed at 10:00 PM, two were warned about curfew and they were told to pick up their garbage and go home.
7:13 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
7:37 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Virginia Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
12:02 PM Officers responded to a call from area business on 5th Avenue reporting that a customer was caught changing pricing stickers.
12:27 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Superior Street, north of 6th Avenue involving two male drivers. One driver was from Cadott and the other driver was from Menasha.
3:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a family of skunks have been her neighbor’s back yard on Clermont Street. There were two adult skunks and 3 baby skunks. When officers arrived, the neighbor said that he would take care of the issue himself.
5:33 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting an intoxicated male subject. The business had refused to sell more alcohol to the male subject. The caller told officers that he was driving a Dodge Dakota that was blue and silver in color and he almost hit someone as he was crossing the road. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle.
8:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a red car was going 40MPH and changing lanes excessively while going southbound and was now parked at an area business on S. Superior Street. The vehicle was gone upon the officer’s arrival.
9:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a van parked in the roadway in front of West Elementary school on 7th Avenue. Officers found out it was a teacher’s van. She had gotten out to go into the school and forgot to put the vehicle in park. It then rolled into the street. Nothing was struck. There was no damage.
Saturday, June 10th
8:53 AM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Forrest Avenue. The female driver was cited for operating while suspended.
3:43 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Mary Street. The driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way. An educational pamphlet was distributed.
7:27 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that an approximately 10 year old male has been coming to the business asking for food. The child has been wearing the same clothes and has been riding a rusty 10 speed bike with flat tires. The caller told officers he had been giving the child food and that the child would be back again shortly. Officers gave the child a ride home and checked on the food situation. Officers found out that there was plenty of food in the home and the boy’s mother was not happy with what he had been doing.
Sunday, June 11th
5:47 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a female subject was lying in front of the building on Clermont Street. The female subject was intoxicated. Officers gave her a ride to her on N. Virginia Street.
8:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle Clermont Street and Ackley Street. The driver was cited for failure to yield at a traffic signal.
10:19 AM Officers received a call from a citizen reporting that a red truck had been driving up and down Weed Street multiple times a day and had a very loud exhaust. They requested an extra patrol.
11:59 AM Officers received a call from a female subject on Superior Street reporting that 5-7 of her clonazepam pills were stolen. Officers told her to stop by the Safety Building to give a written statement.
4:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he hit a stop sign in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64.
7:24 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting a stolen bike from the past weekend. It was described as a green, metallic, Kent Chaos, BMX style trick bike. It had broken handle brakes. Officers were advised.
9:51 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a male and female subject that attempted to steal some items. The female subject ran from the scene. She was wearing a blue, floral shirt and blue jeans. She was barefoot. The male subject was in a green Mercury Sable. He was cooperative. The female subject had shoes on that she didn’t pay for, when confronted by security she gave them back. The subjects had also taken two phones, which were found in the center console of their vehicle. Store security also told officers that they saw needles in the female subject’s purse, but they were gone when officers caught up to her. The female subject was arrested on a body only warrant with Columbia County and she was cited for retail theft.
Monday, June 12th
4:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Washington Avenue. The driver was issued a 10 day written warning for non-registration.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, June 7th
4:47 PM Officers responded to several reports of a two vehicle accident at Cty. Rd. B and Hwy. 45. Property damage only.
7:54 PM Officers responded to a report of a toddler in the road on Deleglise Street. A twenty-one month year old boy was standing in the side of the street near the curb with no adults anywhere around him. When officers arrived, the child’s mother came from the back side of the house claiming that she was looking for him. She was unable to explain to officers how the toddler eluded her. She then claimed that her sister was watching him.
9:12 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that while he was swimming at Meyer Lake near Deer Road and Cty. Rd. D, a male subject, who claimed he “owns” the only boat landing, told the caller that he was on his property and he needed to get off. Officers advised the caller that the boat landing was public and owned by the Town of Norwood.
Thursday, June 8th
8:25 PM Officers were out at a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The female driver of one vehicle failed to yield the right of way from the stop sign at another area business’s parking lot and struck the other vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 64. There were no injuries. Both vehicles were drivable. A state report was filed.
Friday, June 9th
1:02 AM Officers responded to a report of two kids throwing water balloons at cars on Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake. Officers advised the children to never do that again.
11:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he knocked down a power pole in front of a residence on Hwy. 55. The power line was across the road and the pole was snapped. The male subject told officers that he was traveling north on Hwy. 55 at approximately 10MPH on a tractor, hauling a rock picker. He was driving near the centerline and tried to avoid one of the telephone poles with the end of the rock picker. He didn’t move over further because another vehicle was attempting to pass him. The power pole was snapped, the power lines were low and a small grass fire was started.
2:19 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that his boat trailer had been stolen from his daughter’s property on Clear Lake Road. The trailer was parked by the garage and he noticed it was missing the day before. The caller had just arrived from Arizona. He told officers that his son had told him about three weeks ago that the trailer was missing. He was not sure when it went missing because he hadn’t been here all winter. He was going to get officers more information on the trailer.
10:12 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that he struck a bear at McCloud Road and Cty. Rd. C. The car was drivable and there were no injuries. The bear was on the shoulder on the east side of the road. The caller told officers that he had called Wild Instincts in Rhinelander because he wanted to have the bear rescued. They told him that he could deliver it to their facility if a deputy allowed it, but by then the bear got up and walked away on its own power. It appeared dazed, but not injured.
10:16 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he struck a bear on Hwy. 45, just south of Elcho. The bear needed to be dispatched. There was no damage to report.
Saturday, June 10th
5:07 AM Officers received a call from a female reporting that about five minutes earlier, as she tried to pass a vehicle on Hwy. 64, west of Polar, the vehicle sped up and wouldn’t let her back into the lane. The vehicle then passed her, cut in, and then slammed on the brakes. The vehicle was last seen turning south on Hill Road. The vehicle was described as a red Ford Focus. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers were advised.
8:15 AM Officers responded to a call from an area country club on Bass Lake Road reporting that the night before, someone stole a golf cart from the shed and drove it all over the course and crashed it into a pine tree. There was no damage to the course or the cart. The key was left in the ignition.
10:48 AM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that he was on his computer and someone took it over and was telling him that he needed to pay money, so he unplugged the computer. The male subject told officers that he needed help changing his user name/password on his gmail account. He called a gmail hotline number. That person gained control of his computer after 50 minutes on the phone. The person then told the male subject that he needed to pay money for new software to protect his computer, so he unplugged it. No money was lost. Officers advised the male subject to have someone look at his computer.
Sunday, June 11th
8:07 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that some items were stolen from his property on Deer Tr. He was told by a male friend that a paddle boat, blue on top and white on the bottom was taken (value $200). He was also told that his Montana van was open and parts were removed. The caller told officers that he was currently in the hospital and he hadn’t been to the property since July or August of 2016. Officers advised the male subject to contact them when he was out of the hospital with further information.
Monday, June 12th
2:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that his pontoon boat had tipped off the trailer on Cty. Rd. Q. It was upside down and leaking gas on the road. The caller told officers that he was northbound on Hwy. 17 and made a right turn going northeast on Cty. Rd. Q. The pontoon boat has a narrow wheelbase and it tipped over twisting the tongue of the trailer. There was no damage to the vehicle. On the pontoon boat there was damage to the rails, deck areas and unknown damage to the motor. It was towed.
Tuesday, June 13th
12:03 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that medication was stolen from his vehicle on Saturday, June 10th while it was parked at an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho. Officers then spoke with the male subject at the Safety Building. He said that he had 20mg suboxone and 35 alprazolam pills stolen from his unlocked truck while in the business. He told officers that he had just gotten the prescriptions filled and needed to file a police report. Officers were going to look at the businesses’ video.
7:10 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Clermont Street. One male subject was arrested for operating without a license, 2nd offense and was cited for speed. A second male subject was arrested for drug paraphernalia.
Wednesday, June 14th
6:28 AM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho reporting a gas drive-off of $70. The vehicle was described as a black Chevy pulling a boat. It got diesel fuel and drove off without paying. It was headed northbound. The business would be checking its video.
