Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 6/26/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 12th
2:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Langlade Road reporting that her mailbox was knocked over. The caller told officers that a Red Robin Transit bus struck the mailbox. The bus continued on and turned onto 2nd Avenue. The bus company and officers talked with the bus driver who didn’t remember hitting any mailbox. He was very apologetic and offered to pay for a new mailbox.
8:09 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting that they found a counterfeit $100 bill in their parking lot on S. Superior Street. Officers picked up the bill and placed it into evidence.
11:57 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she was attacked at an area business on Edison Street by people she didn’t know. She, another female subject and a male subject were in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee parked at an area business. She told officers that her hazard lights were on. She told officers that two of the subjects in the vehicle were hurt and bleeding. All three subjects denied medical attention. The subjects told officers that a fight had started over a male subject bringing an infant into the business. The subjects were given a ride home.
Tuesday, June 13th
6:37 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a burgundy Saturn was all over the road on Superior Street. The caller told officers that the vehicle almost ran him off of the road and almost hit other vehicles. It pulled into the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 45. Officers received a second call from the male reporting that the vehicle left that business and then went into the parking lots of two other area businesses on Neva Road. It then went southbound on Charlotte Street and then went eastbound on North Avenue and turned westbound on Hwy. 64. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 64 and Progress Blvd. The male driver told officers that he had been texting and driving, but his phone showed that last text was sent at 6:20 AM. The driver showed no indication of impairment. His vehicle was searched. Nothing was found.
7:52 AM Officers responded to a request for an ambulance at an apartment on Charlotte Street. The female caller told officers that she found her husband lying on the floor, turning blue and gasping for air. He was taken to the emergency room. The male subject was later arrested on two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping, felony bail jumping and possession of Schedule I narcotics.
3:04 PM Officers responded to a call from an area bank on Progress Blvd. reporting that they had received a counterfeit $20 bill. They had no idea who brought the bill in. The bill said “For motion picture use only.”
6:13 PM Officers were at a residence on Lincoln Street. Two male subjects were arrested for marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
9:13 PM Officers received a call from a female on Badger Avenue reporting that a female and male subject with a baby, whom she knew, came to her house, just walked in without knocking or being invited and had been there for 15 to 20 minutes before her call to officers. The caller told officers that she thought that they were acting suspicious. The caller finally told the subjects to leave her house. She told officers that she locked her doors and would call them if the subjects came back.
9:44 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that nine juvenile subjects threw a garbage can into the road at 6th Avenue and Superior Streets and there was now garbage all over. Officers talked with three subjects. Two of the subjects admitted doing it. The two male subjects were referred for disorderly conduct.
Wednesday, June 14th
12:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45. Officers arrested the male driver for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense, operating after revocation, and felony bail jumping. He was also cited for failure to fasten his seatbelt and unsafe lane deviation.
1:45 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that three female subjects were outside a business on Edison Street, smoking marijuana. Two females were not there when officers arrived. The third female subject was arrested for possession of meth and meth paraphernalia.
11:30 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Vehicle 1 was making a right turn into the parking area. Vehicle 2 was backing out of a parking spot. Vehicle 2 hit Vehicle 1. The driver of Vehicle 2 told officers that they did not see the other vehicle.
1:46 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 1st Avenue reporting that she was digging a tree out of her yard and she believed that she found a real gun, covered in mud. The tree was on the side of the house by a ramp. The caller told officers that nothing was there last summer. Officers determined that the gun was not real and disposed of it.
3:34 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that another subject backed into him at an area business on Superior Street.
Thursday, June 15th
10:50 AM Officers responded to a report of an adult female shoplifter at an area business on Hwy. 64. The female subject was cited and released.
4:33 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they were watching a female subject in the store. So far, she had put a BB gun and some wrenches in her purse and they felt that she would be attempting to leave soon. The female subject was described as heavy set, with long black hair, wearing a white blouse over and AC/DC t-shirt with black jeans. Officers arrested the female subject for obstruction, retail theft and felony bail jumping. A second female subject was arrested for obstruction and possession of prescription medication. Officers also arrested a male subject for possession of meth and a probation hold.
4:58 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that she had moved from Mountain, WI to Iron River, MI and she was assisted by a female subject. Sometime during the move, the caller believed that the female subject took $220 in cash from her. The caller also told officers that she believed that the female subject took a blank check from her checkbook and wrote it out to herself for $1,000 and cashed it at an area bank. She told officers that she had already contacted Oconto County and Michigan authorities. Officers were investigating.
7:09 PM Officers received a call from a male on Weed Street reporting that he was just in an altercation with an African-American male subject at nearby residence on Weed Street. He told officers that he was upset about the activities going on at that residence. Officers advised the male that they would make an extra patrol.
8:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a vehicle was crossing the centerline while westbound on Hwy. 64 from Polar. The vehicle was described as a 4 door, red Chevy Cavalier. The vehicle then turned south on Clermont Street. Officers stopped the vehicle at 4th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was not intoxicated.
11:12 PM Officers responded to a call from a male calling to report that a male subject was outside an area business on Edison Street, lying on the ground, rolling around, intoxicated. He was described as a white male wearing a red shirt and white shorts. Officers transported the male subject to his residence on Clermont Street.
11:45 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a female subject on 5th Avenue that had stabbed herself a couple of hours ago and was barricaded in her apartment with a 7-8 year old child. Officers talked with the female subject. She denied trying to intentionally harm herself. She had a cut on her arm. She had told her fiancé that she cut herself a day or two ago trying to open a bag with a knife. Her fiancé was going to spend the night with her.
Friday, June 16th
12:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 3rd Avenue reporting that a group of four young girls attempted to gain entry to her neighbor’s car and then left in an unknown direction. The caller told officers that the female subjects had come from the back alley. The caller gave officers a description of the girls. Officers talked with four female subjects on 3rd Avenue. They denied going through anyone’s vehicle.
2:26 AM Officers arrested a female subject on S. Hudson Street on two Langlade County Sheriff Office warrants for failure to pay fine for operating while suspended. The female subject was transported to Corrections.
4:55 AM Officers arrested a female subject on Elm Street on a Langlade County Sheriff Office warrant for failure to pay fine for theft of library materials. The female subject was transported to Corrections.
1:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting an accident near an area business on Hwy. 64. Vehicle 1 had turned westbound onto Hwy. 64 from the parking lot of an area business. Vehicle 2 was westbound on Hwy. 64 in the left lane and attempted to go into the right lane. Vehicle 2 struck Vehicle 1 in the driver’s side front fender wheel area. Vehicle 2 stopped and talked with the driver of Vehicle 1, but did not identify himself and left before officers arrived. There were no injuries.
11:39 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for speed and given a written warning for a headlight out.
Saturday, June 17th
4:42 PM Officers were out with two boys at an area business on Superior Street. The two male subjects told officers that they were attempting to shoot squirrels with a long rifle pellet gun that they had. Officers warned the boys and advised them to return the gun to their house.
6:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that two 4 to 5 year old girls were attempting to cross Superior Street at 9th Avenue. The female called back telling officers that she was with a group of people and the children at 8th Avenue and the girls’ parents were nowhere around. The two girls had been in the center turn lane of Superior Street. Two female subjects picked the girls up and held them until officers arrived. Officers found out that the girls had walked six blocks all by themselves. When officers arrived at the girls’ residence, their mother and father were outside looking for them.
10:52 PM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting that as she walked past a residence on Neva Road she could hear two men inside that sounded really “freaked out.” Officers arrested a male subject for criminal damage to property and a probation hold. The male subject told officers that he used a hammer to smash the walls because he saw mold on them.
Sunday, June 18th
12:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was warned for operating without headlights.
12:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Deresch Street. The driver was cited for operating after revocation and was warned for no insurance and a defective tail light.
10:53 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive-off of $34.77. The caller told officers that they may have tried to pay with a credit card. Officers contacted the male subject and told him to go back and pay, as the card did not go through.
12:16 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Forrest Avenue reporting that a nearby dog is always tied to a tree. That day, the dog got loose and a male subject came and got him. When he did, he picked it up and body slammed it twice. The caller also told officers that the male subject also yelled at a little, 3 year old girl that lives there. Officers checked on the three year old girl and talked to the male subject. He told officers that he would probably be taking the dog to the Humane Society.
10:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a male subject in his late 20’s with dark hair, was sleeping in the restroom at Lake Park on Hudson Street. The male subject told the caller that he was an alcoholic. Officers checked the park. They were unable to locate the subject.
Monday, June 19th
5:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, June 15th
4:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his son ran off the road on Hwy. 52. There was damage to the front of the vehicle on the passenger side. The vehicle was towed. A state report was filed.
4:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he flipped his vehicle on Cty. Rd. G. The male driver suffered a cut on his left elbow and forehead. He refused EMS. The vehicle was towed. A state report was filed.
Friday, June 16th
1:18 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he came upon a female subject in the roadway at Chillie Road and Cty. Rd. B with blood on her face, who seemed to be intoxicated. The female subject had tripped and fallen on the road after trying to walk to town. She was highly intoxicated and was going to walk to her residence on Langlade Road.
Sunday, June 18th
12:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Antigo Street in Elcho reporting that her vehicle had been stolen from the parking lot across the street from her apartment. The vehicle was a 1998 Mercury Sable. It was last seen the night before at 11:30 PM. She told officers that she had a spare key in the glove box and the doors had been unlocked. She had not given anyone permission to borrow or take the vehicle. 6/21/17 The vehicle was located in Oneida County. The female subject picked up the vehicle.
7:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Deer Road reporting that he noticed that his 372 Husqvarna chainsaw and a toolbox containing sockets and wrenches were missing from his garage. He told officers that he last used the chainsaw two weeks ago and didn’t notice any damage to his garage door. There were no suspects.
Monday, June 19th
10:50 AM Officers responded to a one vehicle accident on Hwy. 55, one and a half miles south of Cty. Rd. K. The female driver was out of the vehicle. She hit her head on the windshield. Officers arrested the female subject from Crandon for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, drug related.
Tuesday, June 20th
11:37 AM Officers received a call from a male subject on Hwy. 64 reporting that someone stole the motor off of the boat for sale in his yard. It was a 15HP Evinrude, green/black camo painted, with an estimated value of $500. The caller told officers that it had been there the day before.
3:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting that she was just involved in an accident. The female subject was traveling south on the curve at Cty. Rd. X and S. Winter Road, while the other male driver was traveling north on Cty. Rd. X. The male driver told officers that his foot slipped off the brake pedal and he failed to yield the right of way. The female subject’s vehicle, then struck his vehicle. A state report was filed.
