ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 19th
10:56 AM Officers responded to a report of criminal damage at the Antigo High School. Two female subjects had written on a wall with red wipe-off marker. When officers arrived one female subject had most of it already cleaned up. Officers talked to the two subjects. The principal would be disciplining them.
1:54 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at 10th Avenue and Dorr Street. Property damage only.
3:09 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that a couple of motorcycles were racing up and down on Willard Avenue and they were very loud. They had come from the Clermont Street area. The caller told officers that this had become a routine problem and the subjects were getting bolder. The caller was concerned that children in the area could get hurt.
Tuesday, June 20th
2:49 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that someone had smeared pizza all over her black Chevy Cruise while it was parked in the hospital parking lot on E. 5th Avenue. A witness told officers that two kids had done it. The witness gave officers names of the two suspects. Officers were going to look had the hospital video and follow up with the suspects.
4:17 PM Officers responded to a report of a male shoplifter at an area business on Neva Road. The male subject from Antigo was arrested for shoplifting and bail jumping.
8:47 PM The Antigo Fire Department called about a complaint that they received of a wire down on 5th Avenue by the corner of Dorr Street. A wire was hanging out a 2nd floor window and running down to the 1st floor.
Wednesday, June 21st
6:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he was rear-ended at the Hwy. 45 and Hwy. 64 intersection. He told officers that he was in the southbound lane of Hwy. 45. The male subject was injured, but refused transport. There was only minor vehicle damage. A state report was filed.
8:15 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting the theft of some money from a register. Officers were interviewing several employees.
9:02 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that an employee sold alcohol to a minor. The business had the transaction on video. The male subject was identified. Officers spoke with the male subject at his residence on Mayfair Street. He admitted to buying the alcohol with a fake ID. The ID was confiscated. He was very apologetic and cooperative. No charges were filed.
Thursday, June 22nd
1:39 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting suspicious activity at a local cemetery on Forrest Avenue. The caller told officers that two female subjects had dug something up near the roadway. It may have been a tool. They then left eastbound, in a dark blue car. The female subjects were described as wearing shorts and floppy straw hats. Officers found nothing out of the ordinary. They also talked with the parks crew who had been there a day earlier and they had seen nothing unusual.
2:37 PM Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting a two vehicle accident at Clermont Street and Mendlik Avenue. Two subjects had gotten out of the vehicle. One female subject was holding her head. One of the drivers was cited for failure to stop at a stop sign.
4:06 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Irving Street reporting that someone used one of his trailers, damaged it and there was garbage all over. No subjects were around when officers arrived. They would make contact with the subjects at a later time.
4:57 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation and was cited for speed.
Friday, June 23rd
1:29 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and North Avenue. The driver was issued a 10 day written warning for expired registration and was cited for operating while suspended.
1:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Birch Street. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
5:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a 10 correction notice for expired registration.
10:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a 10 correction notice for expired registration.
11:25 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he hit a stop sign pole in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64.
11:41 AM Officers were out at the scene of a minor accident in the parking lot of the Langlade Hospital on E. 5th Avenue.
5:06 PM Officers responded to a report of a female subject acting strangely in front of an area business on 5th Avenue. The caller told officers that the female was digging in her paints, dancing around and going in and out of her vehicle. She was described as wearing a blue tank top and black pants. The vehicle as described as having the front left smashed. Officers located the vehicle at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. The female subject from Milwaukee was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
6:57 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting retail theft. A male juvenile subject was cited for retail theft.
7:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Kelly Street. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.
8:29 PM Officers were out at a disturbance Lincoln Street and 4th Avenue. As officers came by, two male subjects were going to throw punches. One male subject had spit directly in the other male subject’s face. Both subjects stopped and separated when officers arrived. One of the male subjects packed up his belongings and moved out.
9:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
9:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
9:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:09 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Virginia Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was cited for drug paraphernalia.
Saturday, June 24th
1:03 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive-off of $43.27. The vehicle was described as a silver or gold Jeep Cherokee. It was last seen northbound on Hwy. 45. Officers attempted to catch up to the vehicle as it pulled into an area business on Hwy. 45 and turned its lights off. Officers located the vehicle behind the business and it started to leave. Officers then activated their emergency lights and the vehicle eventually stopped. Officers spoke with the female driver who admitted to pumping the gas and then leaving without paying for it. The female subject was arrested for theft. She was transported to Corrections.
6:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on North Avenue reporting that his neighbors had been shooting a pellet gun and he now had a bullet hole in one of his windows. Officers spoke with the male and female subjects who were shooting a BB gun in their yard. They told officers that they would settle the situation with their neighbor.
9:41 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Sunday, June 25th
12:28 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
5:17 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 10th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:10 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting a female shoplifter that was being uncooperative. Officers arrested the female subject for retail theft. She was transported to Corrections.
12:03 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that two young kids were just wandering around at the corner of 9th Avenue and Dorr Street. There was boy and a girl around 4 to 5 years old. Officers were able to identify the children’s father. He came to the Safety Building. He told officers that the children had been in the back yard and taken off. The children had jumped the fence and went for a walk. The children were reunited with their father.
2:46 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting hearing four wheelers in the area of an area business on Neva Road. Officers were unable to locate the vehicles.
9:53 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed and no tail lights.
11:46 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Monday, June 26th
12:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Center Street. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlight.
12:52 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
1:17 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Center Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
5:39 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a customer brought a small 4 year old boy in from outside that was standing around with no parents. Officers turned the child over to his grandfather.
6:59 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Eckart Street. The driver was cited for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, June 22nd
10:44 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that the day before, a couple of subjects stopped at his elderly grandmother’s house on Cty. Rd. F while he was not there and now there were some minor items missing. He told officers that he was not worried about the missing items. He was more worried that the subjects had been casing the house.
Friday, June 23rd
9:04 PM Officers attempted to stop a motorcycle on Hwy. 55, south of Hwy. 52 that was going 88 MPH in a 55 zone. Officers elected not to continue the pursuit. Shortly after that, the motorcycle was involved in an accident with a deer. (see below)
9:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a black Dodge truck with a topper pulled out of an area business on Neva Road and started causing problems with his sons that were on motorcycles going northbound on Hwy. 45 to Elcho. He told officers that the vehicle cut off one of the bikes and then tailgated him. His other son then got in front of the truck on his bike. Finally the truck pulled out and took off fast continuing northbound on Hwy. 45. Officers sent a teletype to the Oneida County Sheriff’s office to watch for the vehicle.
9:11 PM Officers responded to a motorcycle versus deer accident on Hwy. 55. The male driver of the motorcycle had a broken wrist. Officers left a message with the Hwy. Department about damage to a road sign during the crash. The male driver was cited for speed, reckless driving, failure to maintain control and driving too fast for conditions.
Saturday, June 24th
2:08 AM Officers responded to a report from a security company of an entry alarm going off at an area business on Hwy. 47. Officers discovered that a front window was broken, but entry was not gained. The building was cleared, no one was found inside. Nothing was missing. The owners were checking their video footage.
9:58 AM Officers responded to a two vehicle accident on Hwy. 45, south of Huggins Road. Property damage only. The male driver of one of the vehicles was warned for following too close. A state report was filed.
3:49 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. F reporting that her female neighbor was using a leaf blower to blow debris and pine needles into her yard and that the female subject had used profane language toward her the night before. When officers arrived the female subject showed officers the yard. There were minimal needles in the caller’s yard. The female subject denied using profane language. Officers listened to audio recordings from the caller’s security camera. The female subject had used some very profane language toward the caller. The female subject was cited for disorderly conduct.
Sunday, June 25th
9:44 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a Chevy Cobalt vehicle pulled over on the side of Kennedy Road, just north of Cty. Rd. J with a male subject sleeping in the vehicle. The caller told officers that the male subject had vomit on his shoulder. Officers arrested the male subject for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. The vehicle was towed.
Monday, June 26th
7:36 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Riordan Street reporting that his garage had been entered again the night before. The caller told officers that he had the subjects on video. Approximately $150 in liquor was taken. There was no other damage. Officers were investigating.
5:31 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 64 and Highland Road. The male driver was arrested for operating after revocation. (operating while intoxicated related)
5:57 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Cty. Rd. F and Cty. Rd. S. It was reported that a pickup truck was in the ditch and a car was on the roadway. An elderly couple was in the car. EMTs on the scene confirmed that there were no injuries. The car was towed.
6:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Riordan Street regarding his earlier complaint, about kids possibly breaking in and stealing some alcohol. The caller told officers that he had questioned the kids that he suspected, and they admitted to stealing it. He told officers that he was holding the two male suspects. One male subject was cited for juvenile alcohol, and was referred for burglary and theft. A second male subject was cited for violation of Graduated Driver License restrictions and was referred for obstruction and burglary. He was released to his mother.
Tuesday, June 27th
10:49 PM Officers were out with a vehicle at Cty. Rd. A and Cty. Rd. O. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense and was cited for open intoxicants. The vehicle was towed.
11:20 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 55 and Lost Lake Road. A male subject was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrant. A female subject was referred for operating after revocation.
