International Walkers Association Hiking/Presentation June 22nd 9am-Noon Kettlebowl Ski Hill, N6875 Hwy. 52, Bryant. The International Walkers Association will be in Langlade County on Thursday, June 22. They will be holding a meeting at the Kettlebowl Ski Chalet. Dave Mickelson, former University of Wisconsin geologist, will be joining the group for a pre-hike program at the chalet & the awesome stroll atop the summit of the Summit Lake Moraine. Play & Learn – Museum Field Trip June 22nd 9:30am Langlade County Historical Museum, 404 Superior St., Antigo. Go back in time and visit the train station! Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together. Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run Races June 23rd-25th Crandon International Off-Road Raceway, 10104 US Highway 8 W, Crandon. As it has since 1970, Crandon International Raceway will be the epicenter of the short-course off-road racing world as it hosts the 23rd annual Forest County Potawatomi Brush Run event. Held at the legendary facility’s 400-acre, purpose-built track located in the heart of Wisconsin’s scenic Northwoods, the Brush Run schedule features nearly three full days of TORC Pro and Crandon Sportsman racing from Friday, June 23rd through Sunday, June 26th. The on-track action will culminate late Sunday afternoon with the 23rd Annual Forest County Potawatomi Community Cup race. Pitting the TORC PRO 2WD and TORC PRO 4WD classes together on the same track with a staggered start, the racers will going door-to-door for one of the sport’s biggest prizes. Hodag Water Shows June 25th-August 20th (Sun. & Wed.) 7pm Hodag Park, Boom Lake, 1103 Thayer St., Rhinelander. HWS performs a show that features acts such as ballet, jump, swivel skiing, trick skiing, barefooting, doubles, trios, wakeboarding, and pyramid. Members range in age from 6 to almost 50 and some of the members have been with the team for more than 30 years. Soccer Boot Camp June 26th-30th 5:30-7pm Saratoga Park, 1235 Nantasket St., Antigo. Antigo High School boy’s varsity soccer coach, Ben Wilhelm will lead a week long soccer boot camp open to middle school and high school boys and girls. This camp is for grades 6-12. (as of Sept. 1st) The goal of the week is to develop player’s individual skills and prepare them for the upcoming middle school summer soccer league as well as their middle school and high school soccer seasons. We will do drills and small sided games, and give players tools to practice on their own. This boot camp week is open to players of any skill level and you may attend as few or as many days as you’re able! The camp is free and a t-shirt is included.
