Dorothy Victoria Breitenfeldt, 97
Dorothy Victoria Breitenfeldt, of Antigo, died Friday, June 2, 2017 at the Homme Home for the Aging in Wittenberg. She was 97 years old. She was born on March 17, 1920 in Gillet, a daughter of the late Fredrick and Mamie (Stickney) Theilman. She married James Breitenfeldt on June 29, 1940 at St. John Catholic Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1994.
Mrs. Breitenfeldt was a cook at Pleasant View Grade School for 9 years and drove school bus for Malliette Bus Company for 20 years, retiring in 1990. In her retirement she served as Deputy Clerk of Court for Langlade County.
She enjoyed going to the Casino, trips to Las Vegas and winters in Florida with her granddaughter, Tina. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and will be remembered for being a great cook and working hard on the farm.
Survivors include four daughters, Virginia (Elroy) Gauerke of Hendersonville, TN, Victoria (Gary) Adamski, Kathleen (Wayne) Schultz and Peggy (Gregg) Gelhausen all of Antigo; a son, Roger (Mary Jo) Breitenfeldt of Antigo; ten grandchildren, Tom, John and Paul Breitenfeldt, Salena Schultz and Jolene Estreen, Tina Marie Baker and James Adamski, Mary Kay and David Gauerke, Justin Gelhausen; and many great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by four sisters, Myrtle, Mable, Goldie and Gertrude; and eight brothers, Ralph, Elmer, Gerald , Kenneth, Louis, Fred Jr., Donald and Dale.
A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, Antigo with Rev. Jeremiah Worman officiating. Burial will take place in Aniwa Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday at the Bradley Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the church in Hoffmann Hall from 9 to 10 a.m. A parish wake service will be held on Tuesday at 7 p.m. the Bradley Funeral Home.
