Robert A. Joerns, 79
Robert A. Joerns, of Elcho, died, Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at his home under the care of his family. He was 79 years old. He was born on December 11, 1937 in Crandon, a son of Henry and Irene (Holford) Joerns. He married Marilyn Hubatch on September 17, 1955 in Crandon. She survives.
He worked at Sport Marine and Merit Gear in Antigo as a repairman. For 40 years he worked for Kraft in the Antigo plant followed by five years with Antigo Cheese.
Robert and Marilyn owned and operated, The Ranch Bar, in the town of Antigo for 16 years.
He took pride in being a part of his son Rick’s purchase and operation of the Highway 45 Locker Plant in Antigo.
He loved spending time outdoors with the family hunting, fishing and camping.
Survivors including his wife are three daughters, Vickie (Dan) Guenther of Ishpeming, Michigan, Diane Joerns of Elcho, Karen (Matt) Marvin of Elcho; two sons, Rick (Sue) Joerns of Antigo, Todd (Amy) Joerns of Rhinelander; nine grandchildren Jennifer and Ryan Joerns; Lauren and Anna Joerns; Travis Guenther; Josh (Alana) Joerns, Jon (Lindsay) Joerns; Shae and Stephanie Flood; six great-grandchildren, Aurora, Anaya, Ellee, Aubree, Braydee and Connor; two sisters, Joyce Jackson of Minoqua and Barbara Loveless of Nettleton, MS; a brother, Eldor Joerns, of Wisconsin Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bobby Joerns; four sisters, Rosemary Wieland, Ruth Kloth, Delores Johnson and Sandra Gascoigne.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 3 at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
