ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, July 10th
9:03 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting the theft of some items while they were out of town. The caller told officers that on Thursday, he noticed that some metal shelving and tracking was missing from the north side of the building. Then on Monday, he also noticed that 6 steel rims off of an S10 pickup were missing along with a box of antique pulleys, a gray hood off of a Ford truck, some duct work & a blower. The caller had already contacted an area scrap metal business, but nothing was there. Officers advised the caller to set up a security camera. There were no suspects.
1:35 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male subject that had been coming in and harassing them was back. The male subject left prior to the officer’s arrival.
1:53 PM Officers cited two male juvenile subjects for theft at Antigo High School.
2:42 PM Officers received an anonymous report of a black Envoy that drove past the walking trail behind an area business at 4th Avenue and Superior Street at about 20 MPH and not paying attention. The caller was concerned because their children were nearby. The caller told officers that the driver of the vehicle was a female. Officers were able to identify the owner of the vehicle.
4:00 PM Officers received the following email regarding a scam: “Hello, I just answered a phone call from an area banking institution with a local number, that said that I won a free vacation in Orlando, but the woman needed more information. The woman said that from their files, it looked like I was over 28 years old and had a current debit or credit card. The woman did not introduce herself or state that she was from that banking institution. I assumed that it was a scam, but I was concerned because the caller ID showed that it was a local banking institution and a local phone number. I wouldn’t want anyone to fall victim, if this is in fact some type of scam and I figured it wouldn’t hurt to notify the police department. Thank you for your time.”
4:25 PM Officers responded to a call from an area banking institution on 5th Avenue reporting that they had a counterfeit $20 bill. Officers picked up the bill.
4:35 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 6th Avenue. The male driver was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and operating without a license, 2nd offense.
6:25 PM Officers responded to a call from male at an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a male subject, approximately 20 years old, white, wearing a white tank top, with medium length, “raggedy style” hair was urinating by the business. Officers were unable to locate the male subject.
8:13 PM Officers responded to a call from the owner of an area business on Neva Road reporting that someone in a small, red car came into the parking lot of his business and was driving recklessly. It then left going northbound on Neva Road. Officers stopped the vehicle at Clermont Street and Century Avenue. The female driver was warned about her driving habits.
8:40 PM Officers responded to a complaint of fireworks being thrown out of a room at an area housing establishment on 6th Avenue. The caller told officers that one almost struck a passerby. Officers cited a male subject for violation of the fireworks ordinance.
Tuesday, July 11th
4:43 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Wausau Road. Officers came upon the parked vehicle with a door open. Officers found a male subject sleeping inside, covered in marijuana according to officers. The male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana, 2nd offense.
7:21 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a vehicle had been parked there for a while and it appeared that a male subject in the vehicle was passed out. The caller told officers that someone had knocked on the window and the male subject just moved his head to the side. Officers arrested the male subject. His vehicle was towed.
10:06 AM Officers responded to a report of a minor accident at Neva Road and Amron Avenue. An accident report was filed.
4:22 PM Officers were at a residence on 2nd Avenue. Officers arrested a male subject on two Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrants.
6:23 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that three female Native American subjects walked out of the business in a hurry, with three huge bags, possibly containing alcohol. They were driving an older, brown Chevy Suburban. They left going northbound on Hwy. 45. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle. Officers sent a teletype to Forest, Shawano and Menominee counties about the subjects and vehicle. Officers were viewing the store video.
7:07 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for operating with a suspended registration.
7:33 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
7:48 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:04 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:10 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day correction notice for registration.
9:44 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Irving Street. The driver was given a 10 day correction notice for expired registration.
11:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for operating after revocation.
Wednesday, July 12th
12:10 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 4th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for operating without a license.
5:38 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street. The male driver was arrested on a probation hold and was cited for operating after revocation.
9:09 AM Officers received a call from an area business on Clermont Street reporting that a male subject, driving a silver Nissan, had been in a few times within the last week and he has stood by the receptionist desk, hovering and sometimes walking behind the desk. The caller told officers that on that morning, before the business was open, a technician was in the back and the male subject walked in the back door. He came in and used the restroom. The caller also told officers that sometimes he says nothing and other times, he asks the same question. Officers found out that the vehicle was listed to a male subject from Wausau. Officers told the business to call them if the male subject returns.
3:19 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Elm Street reporting that she found possible drugs in a cot that her daughter had used. The female told officers that when she opened the cot, a small, orange colored plastic bag fell out. Officers picked up the bag containing a powdery white substance and placed it into evidence.
4:24 PM Officers responded to information that on the roof of a building on 5th Avenue, the tenants next to that building were throwing their trash. Officers were also told that kids had been roaming around on the roof. Officers spoke with a female subject that told officers that she planned on taking care of it.
Thursday, July 13th
12:50 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for failure to obey a stop sign.
1:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on 5th Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation.
2:28 AM Officers responded to call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a male subject came into the store and took two hamburgers and when confronted, took off running north on Superior Street with the hamburgers. The subject was described as a white male, wearing thin plaid shorts, a blue t-shirt and had curly brown hair. Officers viewed the store video.
5:47 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:00 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his vehicle was keyed while parked at an area business on Superior Street the night before. Officers discovered that three vehicles that had been parked behind the business had been keyed. Photos were taken. There were no suspects.
3:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Pierce Avenue. The female driver was given a written warning for non-registration.
3:45 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a gas drive off of $35.61. The vehicle was described as a 2 door Chevy Silverado, silver with orange lights on the top of the cab. The driver was described as an older gentleman in his 50s. The caller did not think that the male subject had intentionally not paid for the fuel. Officers were checking the video.
8:54 PM Officers received a call from a female on Fred Street reporting that she had been out of town for the past week and when she got home that day, it looked as if someone had been in her home and intentionally plugged her sink and turned the water on, flooding her kitchen. She requested an extra patrol, but did not want officers to look inside her home.
9:22 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a car was swerving all over the road. The vehicle was northbound on Hwy. 45 from Mapleview Road. Officers stopped the vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Ave. The male driver was not intoxicated.
11:38 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting that items were stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked at an area business on Hwy. 64 for two days. The items taken included a Craftsman 19.2v cordless drill, a Craftsman 19.2v cordless impact wrench and a camo jacket.
11:57 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Friday, July 14th
4:32 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective head lamp.
10:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kelly Street. The driver was cited for speed.
11:17 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident in front of an area business on Hwy. 64. There were no injuries, property damage only. A state report was filed.
4:22 PM Officers received a call from a male on Charlotte Court reporting damage to his 2005 Chevy van. He told officers that he noticed the damage that day, but didn’t know when the damage occurred.
4:34 PM Officers received a call from a male on Neva Road reporting that he had received a counterfeit $20 bill. The male subject told officers that a bank had already told him that the bill was fake and he had already filled out the Secret Service form. The caller told officer that earlier in the day, a male subject had tried to cash the $20 bill but the clerk did not accept it. That male subject was driving an older red car. Later, a female subject came in, they were busy and he took the $20. The subject was described as an older female.
7:01 PM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting an intoxicated female subject at an address on 2nd Ave. The female was passed out in the front yard. Her family was trying to help her get up, but she did not want to. The female subject asked to go to the Emergency Room. She was taken there by officers and a probation hold was authorized. The female subject’s child was placed with its father.
9:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she was the caretaker of a residence on Irving Street and that the people next door were taking items that had been left outside that needed to be gone through yet. The caller told officers that the subjects were three males in their 20s and she had already told them that they were trespassing. Officers spoke with the three male subjects and advised them not to go through anything.
Saturday, July 15th
12:57 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Forrest Avenue. The male driver fled on foot. The remaining person in the vehicle told officers that the male subject fled because he had a Department of Corrections warrant as well as warrants for Langlade County and Shawano County. The male subject was referred for resisting and obstruction.
1:41 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Pearl Avenue reporting that she could smell marijuana and had seen pot pipes at another address on Pearl Avenue. Officers went to the residence. A female subject turned over two marijuana pipes and an empty plastic container that she usually kept her marijuana in. The female subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. The pipes were destroyed.
4:47PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Pearl Avenue reporting that he was at a residence on Pearl Avenue fixing the taillight on a female’s vehicle. He and the female then walked to the back of her property to look for a property line stake, when a female neighbor came out of her back door yelling “get the f**k off her property” and “get away from her f**king property.” The caller believed that the female subject may have been intoxicated. Officers issued a citation to the female subject for disorderly conduct.
6:50 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting damage to a house that he had for sale on Lincoln Street. Officers were advised.
6:50 PM Officers arrested a female subject at a residence on 6th Avenue for a Langlade County warrant.
8:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Birch Street. The driver was given a warning about their registration.
9:49 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. X. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Sunday, July 16th
3:20 PM A female came to the Safety Building to report theft of her credit card from a local restaurant on Superior Street. A statement was taken. Officers were investigating.
4:58 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had two female shoplifters detained. Officers cited both female subjects for retail theft.
5:15 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he had been gone for a few days and when he got back to his residence on Edison Street, the front door was open and items were missing. Missing items included a 19” RCA tv, Sony DVD player and an air compressor. There were no suspects.
5:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
6:09 PM Officers responded to a report of a two car accident at Hwy. 64 and Neva Road. A report was filed.
6:40 PM Officers responded to a call reporting a motorcycle that was down in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 45. The male driver stated that he was not hurt, but he seemed unsteady on his feet. The Antigo Fire Department was paged. A witness to the accident was arrested on two Oneida County warrants.
9:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Pit Road. The driver was referred for operating after revocation and bail jumping.
11:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a maroon vehicle that was driving southbound on Hwy. 45 by the fairgrounds was driving in and out of their lane. The vehicle then started going under and over the speed limit. Officers stopped the vehicle. The male driver was cited for no insurance and having different sized tires on his vehicle. The K-9 officer checked the vehicle. Nothing was detected.
12:21 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The subject was arrested on a Waukesha County warrant.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, July 12th
11:08 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that someone kicked in the door to his son’s garage on Fairview Road and ransacked it inside. The caller told officers that the perps even removed the power meter to disable the alarm system. Officers spoke with the male owner. He told officers that a week or two earlier, someone had tried to kick the door in on his garage/house. He then put up a game camera. Someone cut the cable that was going across his driveway and then drove a car in. They then kicked in the door and the alarm system. The perps then cut the meter box lock and removed the actual meter to cut the power. Items taken included an old Husqvarna chain saw, an inflatable canoe ($200), 5 gallons of gas and about 5 bottles of liquor. Officers obtained a statement of non-consent.
12:11 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that 7 storage units had been broken into the night before. Security cameras were reviewed. The incident occurred at about 4:30 AM. 3 suspects entered the units. The subjects had approached on foot from the south.
2:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Hwy. 52 reporting that someone stole the sprinkler head from his sprinkler and syphoned gas from his wood splitter. The caller told officers that he did have a yard light and a security light. He said that someone walked behind his house to the garden and took his new sprinkler head and replaced it with an old one. He also told officers that there had been gas in the wood splitter the day before. There were no footprints in the garden.
10:10 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject from Green Bay reporting that he just hit a “wall of cattle” at Hwy. 64 and Shady Road. He told officers that no more cattle were on the road at the time of his call. Officers contacted the owners and the cows were removed. One cow was struck and injured. An accident report was completed. The vehicle was towed.
Thursday, July 13th
5:02 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report identity theft. The female told officers that her husband’s social security number was used to change the phone number and address attached to their credit card and an attempt was made to make a purchase through a company for $468.75. The credit card company flagged the purchase and did not allow it. The female subject was not out any money. Officers gave the female subject information on the identitytheft.gov website.
5:35 PM Officers responded to a report of a one vehicle accident on Hwy. 55, south of Cty. Rd. K. The vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
Friday, July 14th
8:15 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 52 reporting that a car crashed into the guard rail in front of the business. No one was hurt. A female subject came into the business, used the phone and left walking with a male subject who had been driving, northbound on Hwy. 55. The caller told officers that both subjects had been wearing ankle bracelets. The female subject was described as wearing a white t-shirt and short shorts. The male subject was described as wearing a blue ball cap, a blue shirt and longer white shorts. The vehicle was towed. The Highway Department was notified about the guard rail.
Saturday, July 15th
8:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that two small children were near or in the roadway in front of a residence on Cty. Rd. C. The caller told officers that the children appeared to be 2 or 3 years of age. The little boy was in the middle of the eastbound lane and the little girl was in the gravel. The caller stated that a middle aged male subject came and told the caller that he knew where the children belonged and he took them back to that residence. Officers found out that the children had wandered away from their parents. Both parents were advised by officers that this would be their only warning.
10:47 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a possibly intoxicated driver on Cty. Rd. B, near Hwy. 52. The caller told officers that the vehicle was crossing the centerline, changing speeds and signaling and then not turning. The vehicle then turned onto Hwy. 52. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers stopped at residence of the vehicle owner. The female subject was advised of the complaint and warned about her driving habits.
Sunday, July 16th
1:54 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. S and Cty. Rd. A. The male driver was arrested on a probation hold. He admitted to officers that he had been drinking. He was also cited for operating without a license, 3rd offense, speeding, obstructing and fleeing/failing to stop. The vehicle was towed.
9:58 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he received a call from a Stephen Miles at Direct TV and he gave the subject his credit card number. He then realized that he had made a mistake. He told officers that he had already called Direct TV and filed a complaint. Officers called the phone number back and asked to speak to Stephen. The subject then hung up. The male subject was advised to cancel his credit card and go through the identitytheft.gov process, get a copy of his credit report and do a credit freeze
Monday, July 17th
8:20 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report that his friend sent $650 to Cincinnati, Ohio to purchase a bulldog that was to be flown and delivered to his house. The subject did not receive the dog. Officers were investigating.
11:14 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Mill Road in Summit Lake reporting a burglary at her home. A possible female suspect was identified.
12:20 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that her banking institution had called to advise her that someone had tried to change the pin number on her account. They knew her social security number and her phone number. The bank cancelled her credit card. The caller told officers that she had been in touch with Identity Care through the bank. Officers told the female about identitytheft.gov and advised her to put a credit freeze or fraud flag on her accounts.
2:11 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Old 26 Road reporting that someone stole his checkbook from his house or possibly his car. The caller gave officers the name of a possible suspect. Three checks had been written at a business for $150.00, $74.41 & $198.09. Officers were to receive copies of the checks. The male told officers that he cancelled all his checks. Officers spoke with someone at the business to try and confirm the location of where the checks were passed. Officers were to interview the possible suspect.
4:54 PM Officers were at a residence on Clermont Street. A female subject was referred for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
6:31 PM Officers were at a residence on Cty. Rd. H. A female subject was arrested on three warrants for Marathon & Shawano counties and probation. She was also referred for possession of meth. She was transported to jail.
Tuesday, July 18th
9:11 PM An anonymous caller reported that a red pickup missed the corner at Cty. Rd. A and Cty. Rd. B in Neva and was in the ditch by the old schoolhouse. Suspension system failure (possibly the tie rod) caused the front passenger tire to turn on its side resulting in the vehicle going into the ditch. The rear passenger tire went flat. There was no further damage to the vehicle. There was minimal damage to the ditch and the yard.
