ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 26th
11:02 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a male juvenile shoplifter. The male subject was cited for retail theft.
3:59 PM Officers responded to a report of a newspaper delivery boy that was riding his bike on E. 5th Avenue and was being chased by a dog. Officers talked with the delivery boy who said that the dog was from a residence on 6th Avenue. He had witnessed the dog jump the fence. The dog was described as a beagle with a pink collar. Officers returned the dog to the residence. No one was home; officers fixed the fence and got the dog back in his pen. Officers later talked to the female owner. She was warned to keep the dog on her property. She told officers that she would be putting up a new fence.
5:30 PM Officers responded to a report of loud music and a bunch of banging coming from an apartment on Center Street. Officers advised the female subject in the apartment to turn the music down.
5:45 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Lincoln Street reporting that he found a cigarette package that appeared to have marijuana inside. Officers were going to use it for training with the K9 officer and then have it destroyed.
10:56 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Mendlik Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:10 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Tuesday, June 27th
12:07 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlight.
12:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Center Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
12:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Watson Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
12:53 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive-off of $48.64. The vehicle was described as an older maroon truck with black stripes across the tailgate. The vehicle contained two male occupants. The vehicle was stopped by officers and followed back to the business for payment.
1:30 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting the theft of his medication. The subject told officers that the week before, he moved from Clermont Street in Antigo to Wittenberg and his medication bag was stolen from his unlocked vehicle. The bag contained blood pressure medication, cholesterol medication and some over the counter medication. A statement was taken.
7:27 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject advising officers that he was at 10th Avenue and Edison Street and found all kinds of bills torn up on the road. They appeared to be $20 bills. He told officers that he took the pieces to an area business and gave it to cashiers who told him that the money was counterfeit. Officers checked the area, but did not locate any more money.
Wednesday, June 28th
3:16 PM Officers responded to an area clinic on E. 5th Avenue reporting that a doctor had been threatened by a male patient. The male subject had been denied medication. Officers spoke with the male subject who said that he did not mean to threaten anyone and he was sorry for what he said, but he was in a lot of pain.
Thursday, June 29th
12:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on 1st Avenue. The driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
5:59 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a homeless male subject carrying a bag was sitting at their front entrance. Officers asked the male subject to move along.
11:49 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had an employee detained for shoplifting. The subject was referred for theft.
11:55 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Mary Street. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
1:51 PM Officers received a call from a female subject reporting that no one seemed to stop at the stop sign at 1st Avenue and Fulton Street. She requested an extra patrol and she told officers that she would be contacting the mayor about getting a children at play flashing sign put up.
10:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Charlotte Street reporting that someone broke into her apartment. A screen was bent in her son’s bedroom window. The female told officers that they had left the apartment at 5:00 PM and returned at 10:45 PM. Nothing was missing from the apartment, but it appeared that someone had taken a shower. There was dirt on the shower walls and long brown hair in the tub. There were no suspects.
11:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and was cited for operating while suspended.
Friday, June 30th
11:43 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 5th Avenue reporting that she and a friend had witnessed a female subject abuse her dog for the past three days. Officers spoke to the male owner who denied any abuse. Both dogs showed no signs of abuse, but were pit bulls. The male owner was given until 7/7/17 to remove the dogs from the city.
11:49 AM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a silver Dodge Intrepid southbound on Pioneer Road in which the male driver appeared to be beating on something or someone in the back seat. The vehicle was last seen northbound on North Avenue. The vehicle was stopped by officers at 5th Avenue and Fulton Street. The male driver told officers that he was trying to separate two dogs that were fighting over a bone in the back seat. The dogs and driver appeared fine.
11:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a manager of a residence on Neva Road reporting an altercation with one of the male residents. Officers arrested the male subject for disorderly conduct and a probation hold.
12:25 PM Officers told a female subject on 5th Avenue that she needed to remove her pit bull from the city by 7/7/17. She told officers that it was a service dog and she was absolutely not getting rid of the dog. Officers were following up.
4:19 PM Officers searched a residence on S. Park Street. Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were found. Officers referred the male resident for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
5:09 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Rd. X and Dorr Street. The driver was cited for speed and operating while suspended.
8:15 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
8:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
9:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
10:12 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Industrial Park Road. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
10:21 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Mendlik Avenue. The driver was issued a written warning for speed.
10:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her car was keyed while it was parked at the Langlade Hospital in parking lot A. The vehicle was a silver Buick LeSabre. It was parked there from 9:00 AM 6/28/17 until 10:30 PM on 6/30/17. Officers were investigating.
11:39 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
Saturday, July 1st
12:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45 and Industrial Park Road. The driver was cited for speed.
1:26 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was given a 5 day warning for an expired driver’s license.
10:06 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was staying at a hotel on Memory Lane and he could not find anyone running the hotel since the night before. At 10:30 AM, officers were finally able to locate a female subject that was in charge of the front desk. She had been sleeping in an employee sleeping quarters. While at the location, officers also ran into another male guest that had been trying to find someone that worked there so he could check in. Officers contacted the owner of the business to make him aware of the situation.
11:58 AM Officers responded to a call from a member of the Antigo Fire Department reporting that he was out with male and female child, about five years old, at an area business on 6th Avenue. The caller told officers that he had observed the children crossing the street to get into the business. When questioned, the children were not sure where they lived, or their parent’s names. A parent then arrived. The children had been at home with their father and older sister and were supposed to be in the living room watching television. When they checked on the children, they noticed that they were gone. The two children had done something similar the week before.
2:40 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Ackley Street reporting that a female in the apartment next to his was being way too loud, yelling and swearing. Officers talked to the female subject. She was intoxicated. Officers advised her to keep it down.
11:49 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 9th Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended and no proof of insurance.
Sunday, July 2nd
11:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
6:02 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a male subject that was breathing erratically and appeared to be passed out. He had a band around his arm and the caller thought that he may have been “shooting up.” The caller told officers that the male subject was in the first clearing or small park area with a picnic table about one block north of 2nd Avenue on the walk way. The subject was described as 5’6”, thin, short brown hair and goatee, wearing baggy brown pants and no shirt. Officers found the male subject, who was intoxicated. No drug related items were located. He was sent on his way.
6:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two car accident at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. There were no injuries. The male driver of one vehicle was cited for unsafe lane deviation.
6:41 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of dogs barking at a residence on Edison Street. The caller told officers that they had asked the owner to keep them quiet and she told them that she couldn’t. The female owner asked the reporting person what they were going to do about it, and they told her that they were going to call the police. The female subject told them to go ahead, because the police couldn’t do anything about it during the day. Dispatch could hear the dogs barking in the background during the call. Officers explained to the female subject the difference between a noise ordinance and a public nuisance. She was advised that any further complaints would result in a citation.
7:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
7:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Fulton Street. The driver was given a 10 day correction notice for an expired plate.
7:51 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:02 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Dorr Street and Langlade Road. The driver was cited for failure to fasten seatbelt, operating with no proof of insurance and non-registration of the vehicle. They were also given a written warning for operating without carrying a driver’s license.
8:59 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
9:11 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:05 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at an area business on Neva Road. The driver was arrested for operating with a license, 2nd offense.
10:19 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:42 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and Field Street for an expired registration. The odor of marijuana was detected and the female driver consented to a search. A backpack belonging to a male subject was found in the backseat. Officers spoke with the male subject in the jail, who admitted that the backpack and its contents were his. The male subject was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia. The female driver was given a 10 day correction notice for non-registration.
Monday, July 3rd
1:15 AM Officers were out with a vehicle in the middle of the roadway on Clermont Street. Officers found out that the two subjects that were in the vehicle had gotten into an argument and during the scuffle, the keys were lost. Officers attempted to help them find the keys, but were unsuccessful. Officers gave the subjects one hour to get the vehicle removed from the roadway. They were able to get the vehicle moved.
7:47 AM Officers responded to a report from the Park & Rec Department of a possible break in at the concession stand in Peaceful Valley park. It occurred sometime between 9:00 PM on 7/2/17 and 7:47 AM. Entry was made through an unlocked window. Cabinets were broken into. Photos were taken. There were no suspects.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, June 28th
1:12 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report identity theft. The subject told officers that he realized that someone stole his identity when he tried to rent a new house/apartment on 6/24/17. He told officers that he was working with an identity theft company who requested that a police report be made.
Thursday, June 29th
11:16 AM Officers received a call from a male on Hwy. 45 reporting that an ex-employee stole some copper wire and scrap from out of his shop and sold it to a scrap dealer. The dealer had the chopped up wire that the male subject brought in and the caller told officers that he had photos and the ticket that the ex-employee got from the dealer. The caller told officers that he wanted the male subject charged and arrested. Officers were advised.
3:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Hwy. 45 reporting that someone dumped garbage on his land. He told officers that there were names on some of the papers. Officers talked with a male and female subject on Watson Street. The male subject admitted dumping the garbage. He was told to go and pick up the garbage.
Friday, June 30th
11:49 AM A female came to the Safety Building to report that her vehicle was stolen from a residence on Wilson Road. She told officers that she believed that she knew the female subject that took it and that she had not given her consent to take the vehicle. The vehicle was a 4 door, maroon 1998 Ford Taurus. Officers were later advised by the Marathon County Sheriff’s Office that the vehicle had been found in a ditch and towed. Officers tried to contact the vehicle owner. The female called officers back and they advised her to contact the Marathon County Sheriff’s office.
6:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Church Street and Bissell Street. The driver was arrested for drug paraphernalia and possession of Schedule II narcotics.
6:29 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Cty. Road and Cty. Road S. The female driver was arrested for possession of drugs, obstruction and bail jumping. She was also cited for speed.
8:51 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 2nd Avenue. One male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. A female subject was arrested for possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia. A second male subject was arrested for possession of marijuana.
11:10 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a structure fire on Elton South Road.
Saturday, July 1st
12:39 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Road A. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense, operating a motor vehicle with a prohibited alcohol content, open intoxicants and operating without a license. He was also cited for speed.
9:06 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint at White Lake Beach on Lake Street of a female subject revving the engine of her black, Mercury SUV. Several people had yelled at the female to stop, but she continued. An argument started and then people started swinging at each other. The female driver ended up on the ground with her hair pulled. Officers talked with several witnesses. The female driver was cited for disorderly conduct.
10:49 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an erratic driver at Hwy. 64 and Airport Road. The caller stated that the vehicle had passed in a no passing zone and then almost side swiped her vehicle. The female caller told officers that the driver then turned onto Charlotte Court, she followed him and yelled at him. Officers spoke with the male subject at Charlotte Court. He told officers that he had passed the female and a car was coming, so he tried to get back into the right lane, but the female subject won’t let him so he had to force his way in and she became very upset. The male subject was warned about his driving habits.
Sunday, July 2nd
1:16 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject from Menasha reporting that he was just in a two car accident on Hwy. 55. There were no injuries or road blockage. The male subject’s vehicle was towed.
1:16 PM Officers received a call from a male on Stegall Road in Bryant reporting that a vehicle hit his mailbox early that morning. The post was knocked over and the mailbox was missing. No car parts were left behind, but there were tracks.
10:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a dark, late 90’s Chevy pickup that was southbound on Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake that was crossing the centerline and hitting the gravel. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Bagley Lane. The male driver was not intoxicated. He was warned about his driving habits.
Monday, July 3rd
12:28 PM Officers received a call from a male reporting drug needles lying in a driveway on Old 26 Road. The caller told officers that he was concerned because his three year old son had just been there with his mother. Officers were advised.
12:37 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake reporting a gas drive off of $41.54. The vehicle was described as a gray Toyota Sienna minivan. It turned onto Forest Road towards Cty. Road B. The caller told officers that the incident had occurred about one hour earlier. Officers were able to track down the male driver and arrangements were made for payment.
Tuesday, July 4th
10:34 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that the occupants of a red vehicle westbound on Hwy. 64 through Elton were throwing fireworks out of their car as they were going down the road. The caller believed that they had thrown one directly at his car. He told officers that the vehicle was also tailgating. Officers stopped the vehicle. The male driver was cited for no insurance. Another male subject was cited for launching missiles from a vehicle. The fireworks (bottle rockets and Saturn missile bricks) were confiscated and destroyed.
11:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on Cty. Rd. H who called 911 to report a man at her house who was very drunk and out of control. She told officers that the male subject initially had a knife on him, but didn’t now. The caller’s son was holding him down until officers arrived. The caller stated that the male was trying to fight everyone and punch cars. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct, obstruction and a probation hold.
Wednesday, July 5th
9:39 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a truck that hit a telephone pole on Cty. Rd. B, north of Cty. Rd. C. The caller told officers that the male driver was walking around. The vehicle was towed.
