ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, July 17th
12:21 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. A subject was arrested on a Waukesha County warrant.
12:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Hickory Street reporting that some items were stolen from his locked garage sometime between 7/9/17 and 7/16/17. The items included a chainsaw valued at $250 and a DeWalt 20V drill with charger and an extra battery valued at $150.00. Nothing else was taken. There were no suspects.
10:21 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a 2 door sedan, possibly yellow had driven down 9th Avenue, west of Elm Street and then parked at the end of 9th Avenue and was sitting there with its lights on. The caller stated that then two subjects got out of the car and walked between two houses at the end of the cul de sac on 9th Avenue. While officers were talking with the female driver of the vehicle, two male subjects walked onto 9th Avenue from Elm Street. Once the subjects saw the squad car, they took off on foot. Officers arrested the female subject for obstructing and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was also cited for an expired registration. Officers were still investigating.
Tuesday, July 18th
7:48 AM Officers received a call from a business on 5th Avenue reporting the theft of natural gas from a residence on Pine Street. The meter to the residence had been locked on 6/22/17 and they had just found out that the lock had been broken and gas was being used. A citation was issued to the female resident for theft.
12:18 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 6th Avenue reporting that they had a counterfeit $5 bill. They told officers that they did not know when they had received it.
12:20 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 9th Avenue reporting that she saw two male subjects, one in an orange t-shirt and one in a black t-shirt with jeans walk up to a house and try the door. The subjects then went to the garage and looked in. She also told officers that she thought that they may have picked up a brick. Her daughter heard glass breaking. The female called officers back to report that she believed that the subjects started a small fire in the yard and she might know the identity of one of the subjects. Two male subjects were referred for damage to property, criminal trespass to dwellings and negligent handling of burning materials.
Wednesday, July 19th
7:01 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Elm Street and 4th Avenue. A female subject was arrested for possession of meth paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia and bail jumping.
Thursday, July 20th
10:11 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 4th Avenue reporting that she found drug paraphernalia and drugs in her basement from a friend that she had let stay there. Officers collected the items – 2 pipes, baggies with residue and some unidentified pills. The items were logged into evidence.
10:58 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident on Hwy. 64. The caller told officers that she had to stop fast because of a vehicle in front of her and then she was rear-ended. It was a very light hit. There was no damage to either vehicle.
12:39 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 6th Avenue reporting that a female neighbor hit her five year old son on his four-wheeler. She then helped him up and left without telling anyone. The child had some scrapes, but no other injuries. The female subject may receive possible citations.
1:24 PM A female subject came to the Safety Building to report that some rings were stolen from her. She told officers that her ex-boyfriend had been seen with them. Officers were investigating.
2:05 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at an area business on Hwy. 64. It was a minor accident. An accident report was filed.
3:04 PM Officers responded to a report of a minor accident at 4th Avenue and Dorr Street. A male subject was driving a street cleaner with a pipe hanging off of the back. When he took the corner, the pipe swung and hit the other vehicle causing a couple of very minor marks. The vehicle owner said that she wanted nothing further done.
4:24 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident on Hwy. 64. Property damage only.
9:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female, reporting reckless drivers. The caller told officers that two vehicles were driving fast going southbound on Hwy. 45. One vehicle was a Chevy pickup with a boat, dark blue in color. The other vehicle was described as a Chevy SUV. Officers advised one of the male drivers about his driving habits.
11:10 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Badger Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Friday, July 21st
9:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. An educational pamphlet was distributed.
1:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a female subject reporting a road rage incident at Neva Road and Century Avenue. The female told officers that a tan Buick pulled out in front of them and went really slow. The caller said that they went around the vehicle and then the male driver in the Buick tailgated them. When they got to the stop and go lights, the male subject wanted the caller to roll their window down. When they didn’t, he started swearing at them. The caller told officers that they continued northbound and the male subject turned into an area business on Neva Road. Officers talked with the male subject, who had a very different story. Officers warned the male subject about his behavior.
6:44 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive-off. Officers were given a description of the vehicle. The male driver was last seen heading eastbound on Hwy. 64. Officers made contact with the vehicle owner’s wife who advised her husband to go back and pay. Officers later checked with the business. The bill was paid.
7:46 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that two boys and two girls were on the roof of a two story building on Lincoln Street. Officers advised the subjects to stay off of the roof.
11:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was issued a 7 day correction notice for registration.
11:39 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for an unlawful U-turn.
1:25 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was given a written warning for an unlawful U-turn.
Saturday, July 22nd
10:38 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two car accident at 10th Avenue and Dorr Street. Both drivers were out of their vehicles and were not injured. The female driver of one vehicle was cited for failure to yield. An educational pamphlet was distributed. A state report was filed.
7:08 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The male driver was cited for operating after revocation – operating while intoxicated related.
7:24 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive-off for $19.00. The vehicle was described as a small Toyota or Mazda that was missing the right rear hub cab. Officers stopped and talked to a male subject whose vehicle matched that description.
7:35 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Western Road. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
8:03 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Watson Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was cited for operating while suspended.
11:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian.
Sunday, July 23rd
10:02 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a smaller, gray Buick that was crossing the centerline with both wheels, crossing the fog line and then slowing down to about 50MPH while going northbound on Hwy. 45, passing Nickle Road. Officers stopped the vehicle. The male driver was not intoxicated.
12:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Lincoln Street. The driver was cited for speed.
9:48 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on 5th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. An educational pamphlet was distributed.
10:25 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Virginia Street reporting that a female subject he knew, just threw something through the caller’s front door window. She left on foot into the alley towards 8th Avenue. The female was wearing a black shirt with white lettering and blue jeans. The caller then told officers that the female came back and was outside yelling. Officers found out that the female subject had punched through the glass on the front door and forced herself inside. The caller then confronted her and told her to leave. She went outside and continued to yell. Officers felt that the female may have been under the influence of something. She was arrested for disorderly conduct and criminal damage to property.
11:21 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Monday, July 24th
1:58 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Birch Street. The driver was cited for operating after suspension, failure to stop at a stop sign and was given a 7 day correction notice to provide proof of insurance.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, July 19th
1:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he had a truck for sale at Hwy. 45 and Hwy. 47 and someone stole the tailgate and tried to get into the vehicle. The male subject told officers that he had driven the truck at approximately 6:30 AM and the tailgate was on the truck. A friend of his then drove by the truck at approximately at 8:00 AM the tailgate was gone.
Thursday, July 20th
5:16 AM Officers responded to a call from a security company reporting an alarm going off at a residence on Hwy. 55. The side door had been forced open. A 42” TV was missing and the electric meter was stolen. A DVD player and some other electronic items were located in the yard. The items were collected and secured. A cigarette and a bottle near the gate were collected and logged into evidence. The homeowner was notified. 7/21/17 Officers followed up with the homeowner at the residence. After taking inventory, the owner discovered that a printer was also missing.
2:12 PM A female residing on Hwy. 55 in Pickerel came to the Safety Building to report that someone cut the chain on her gate. She told officers that the day before, when she got home at 3:30 PM, she had shut the gate behind her and locked it. That day, around noon, she left and saw that the chain was cut. Nothing was missing. The chain had been cut with bolt cutters. The female told officers that she thought that the subjects probably saw her car and decided not to break in.
4:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male who had just arrived at his cabin on Cty. Rd. K and found that the cable in the driveway was cut and he found a crow bar by one of the back windows. A pry bar was also found by the meter box. The security camera was checked and a picture of a subject cutting the cable was taken at 2:40 AM that morning. The vehicle was an SUV. It appeared that the burglar was scared off. Nothing was missing.
Friday, July 21st
12:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a break-in at his cabin on Cty. Rd. K. He told officers that it possibly had happened yesterday evening or overnight. The suspects had attempted to cut the master lock on the gate but failed. They then cut a link out of the chain and opened the gate. Power was cut to the house and every room had been gone through. Two sheds also had their locks cut and were rummaged through. A new flat screen tv was taken. A black glove was found in the middle of the driveway near the gate. It was collected for evidence.
8:58 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a possible intoxicated driver on Hwy. 45, 4-5 miles north of Hwy. 64. The vehicle was described as a big, gray Chevy truck. The caller told officers that the driver swerving and crossing the centerline 3-4 times. They also threw something out of the window. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers talked with the male driver. He told officers that he had nothing to drink until he got to the cottage and then he had a beer. Officers gave the male subject a sobriety test. He was cited for underage drinking.
Saturday, July 22nd
10:07 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an address on Neva Road. Vehicle 2 was legally parked southbound in the lot. Vehicle 1 was parked westbound in the lot for sale. The driver of Vehicle 1 backed up and didn’t see Vehicle 2. Vehicle 1 struck Vehicle 2 on the passenger side, near the fender, causing damage. Vehicle 1 sustained damage to the rear bumper and rear fender. There were no injuries.
1:21 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Strasser Lane who believed that he found old dynamite in an old barn at his cabin. The Marathon County Bomb Squad removed the items.
Sunday, July 23rd
3:51 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a blue Dodge Ram truck was parked at the end of Messer Road and she believed that the subjects may be smoking marijuana. A foul smell was coming out of the vehicle. Officers found a male and female subject sitting in the vehicle with no clothes on. Officers told them to get dressed. Officers were given permission to search the vehicle. Nothing of concern was found. The male driver was cited for suspended registration and was given a 10 day correction notice for an expired driver’s license. The female passenger was cited for underage drinking.
Monday, July 24th
12:33 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that a white SUV, that was now turning eastbound on Hwy. 47 from Hwy. 45, was crossing the centerline and varying speeds from 30-70 MPH. Officers were given the license plate number. A teletype was sent to the Shawano County Sheriff’s office and the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office about the vehicle.
1:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone had hacked his online account on a website. It was subscription based website. The caller told officers that he had paid his subscription and didn’t use it for months. When he recently tried to access it, he was unable to. He talked to the site administrator and found out that the email address on the account had been changed to a male subject in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
9:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he had received a call from his nephew that their hunting cabin, on Cty. Rd. K off of Hwy. 55 near Lost Lake Road, had been burglarized. Officers found that the padlock to the gate had been cut. An out building was open with a cut padlock on the ground. A toolbox and a cabinet were open. The doors to the cabin were locked. Officers took photos & collected evidence.
Wednesday, July 26th
8:21 AM Officers responded to a call from a Wisconsin Public Service employee reporting that he stopped by a residence on Bogus Road to check the electric meter that had quit working on 7/15/17 and found that the cabin was destroyed inside and out. The electric meter was torn off of the cabin and was on the ground. Windows were smashed and interior walls and light fixtures were damaged. The owner was notified.
