A male pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in the narrow alleyway across from Family Video early Friday morning.

The incident occurred sometime after the adjacent tavern, The Taphouse, closed at 2 AM on Friday. The striking vehicle did not stop after hitting the victim and continued onward. Police are treating the incident as a hit and run.

The alley leads from a municipal parking lot to Edison Street in Antigo.

Antigo Police Department is investigating the incident and is not releasing the name of the victim until family members have been notified.

More details to follow.
