Antigo Police and Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 8/14/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, July 31st
12:46 PM An officer called reporting that while he was at the Langlade hospital he was stopped by a female subject who stated that her vehicle was struck while it was parked in the parking lot between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM that day. There was damage to the back driver’s side panel. On 8/2/17, officers received a security tape to review. It showed a blue Ford Explorer striking the female’s vehicle. It then backed up and parked in a different spot. The female driver of that vehicle then went into the hospital. Officers were able to get a photo of the female subject. Officers talked to that female subject who admitted to striking the vehicle on 7/31/17. A report was filed.
Tuesday, August 1st
4:01 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting an intoxicated female subject in front of the building. Officers determined that the female was intoxicated. A male subject came to give the female subject a ride home.
6:54 PM Officers received a call from a male subject on 3rd Avenue reporting that about three weeks earlier, he received a call from Publisher’s Clearing House. The male subject on the phone told the reporting person that if he sent $700, he would get $900,000.00. The male told officers that he did not send them any money, but he did give the male caller his social security number. After some explaining by officers, the male subject understood that the call was not from Publisher’s Clearing House. Officers told the male subject to monitor his accounts.
11:40 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a male subject was passed out in the drive-thru of an area business on Neva Road. The caller told officers that the male subject then woke up, got his food and then left northbound on Hwy. 45. Officers stopped the vehicle at Hwy. 64 and N. Hogan Street. There was no odor of intoxicants and no signs of impairment. The driver was released.
Wednesday, August 2nd
12:00 PM Officers responded to a call from East Elementary School reporting that a 7 year old male student took off on foot from school going eastbound on 7th Avenue to 5th Avenue, all the way to the hospital. The child’s parents arrived and the male student stopped. He was sent home with his parents.
8:28 PM A female stopped at the Safety Building to report a male subject that was in an area business on 5th Avenue with four small children between 3 and 8 years old. The male subject seemed disoriented and was holding his head. He then left the children in the business while he went back to his vehicle for ten minutes. The male subject was described as 5’9’’ with a shaved head, possibly wearing a tank top and shorts. The male subject left before the officers’ arrival. Officers responded to a second call from another area business on Neva Road reporting that a male subject, with a similar description, came through their drive thru acting strangely. He was parked nearby. Officers arrested the male subject for operating while intoxicated, with a minor in the vehicle and for being armed while intoxicated as a gun was also found.
Thursday, August 3rd
10:09 AM Officers responded to a report from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a female subject, captured on security video, stole over $60 worth of items from the business the night before. Officers arrested the female subject for bail jumping and she was referred for retail theft.
3:44 PM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle versus pole accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The vehicle was towed.
Friday, August 4th
5:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 45. The female driver was arrested for possession of meth paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance & possession of drug paraphernalia.
10:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on Hwy. 64. The canine officer was alerted. A male subject was arrested for five counts of felony bail jumping and possession of marijuana, 2nd offense. A female subject was placed on a probation hold.
Saturday, August 5th
1:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 2nd Avenue and Fulton Street. The female driver was cited for no proof of insurance. A female passenger was arrested on warrants out of Wood County, WI.
2:00 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The male driver was arrested for bail jumping.
8:43 AM Officers received a call from a male on 3rd Avenue reporting that his son’s bike was stolen. It was described as a white/blue Kent Ambush Next with blue pegs on the front. It was worth about $90. It was last seen at around 10:00 PM the night before. Officers were advised.
11:50 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 5th Avenue and Pine Street. The canine officer was alerted. The female driver was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, oxycontin.
Sunday, August 6th
12:38 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kaplanek Avenue. The female driver was arrested on a warrant from Clark County, WI. She was also given a verbal warning for speed.
9:20 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. X. The female driver was arrested. A male subject was also arrested on a probation hold.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Friday, August 4th
6:27 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that on Hwy. 64, just west of Grudgeville Road, there was a backpack lying on the north side of the road. He had stopped to pick it up, but found a big bag of marijuana inside. The bag was gray and orange. Officers found the bag with marijuana, a scale and some garbage inside. It was logged into evidence for destruction.
8:16 PM Officers made a warrant attempt at a residence on S. Park Street. A male subject was arrested on three Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrants and was transported to Corrections. He was also charged with resisting, bail jumping and possession.
Saturday, August 5th
3:43 PM Officers responded to a 2 vehicle accident in front of a business on Hwy. 45 in Summit Lake. Property damage only. A female driver of one of the vehicles was arrested on a warrant from Outagamie County, WI. She was also cited for having no insurance. A state accident report was completed.
7:24 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting a stolen boat from a business on Cty. Rd. K. The caller told officers that it was stolen that day between 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM. The caller did not have a serial number, but told officers that it was recognizable because it was smashed in the front end. He told officers that he would get back to them with more information.
8:31 PM Officers received a call from a male with an area campground on N. Park Road reporting that a male subject had been following some teenage females around at 8:00 PM that night. When confronted, the male subject said that he was just looking for his Frisbee, but a father of one of the girls said he was following them. The caller didn’t want officers to come out. He just wanted it on record in case anything further happened. 8/6/17 Officers received another call from the male, telling officers the name and address of the male subject. The caller had talked to other campers who said that it did appear that he had been following people around and acting suspicious. Officers stopped at the residence of the male subject. There was no answer at the door. They were going to follow up later.
11:07 PM Officers responded to an anonymous caller reporting a possible accident on Hwy. 64, right before Hwy. S. The caller told officers that the car was parked on the side of the road and there were tire tracks heading into the ditch. Also, there were people walking in the ditch with flashlights. The vehicle was removed. A state report was filed.
Sunday, August 6th
10:13 PM Officers were out with 2 vehicles at the Moccasin Lake Trail Head. One male juvenile subject was referred for possession of drug paraphernalia. Another juvenile male subject was cited for underage alcohol. A third juvenile male subject was arrested for obstructing, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was also cited for underage alcohol and possession of tobacco.
Monday, August 7th
7:32 PM Officers responded to several calls reporting that a pontoon plane had flipped and was sinking on the southeast corner of Otter Lake, near Elcho, on Hwy. 45. Multiple boats were going to the plane to try and help. Elcho Fire Department personnel confirmed that the pilot was out of the plane and the plane had been pulled to the shore. Officers spoke with the National Transportation Safety Board to report the crash. The plane was towed.
Tuesday, August 8th
6:09 PM Officers received a call from a male subject reporting that someone stole some money from his locker at work about six days ago. He told officers that he had approximately $1,000 in cash in his work locker and someone pried the door open, possibly with a screwdriver, and took the money on 7/31/17 or 8/1/17. He told officers that he did not report it earlier because his employer had stated that they were going to check into it. Officers would be getting the security camera to review.
9:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. B. The male driver was arrested on a Department of Corrections warrant and was cited for operating after suspension.
