For the Antigo Times

It was an all-Antigo final at the Marshfield doubles tennis tournament this past weekend.

After both teams, made up of Duane and Brett Haakenson and Joel and David Zalewski, won highly competitive matches in the first two rounds, they faced off against each other. The championship couldn’t have been closer, with neither team giving an inch. The Haakensons took the early lead with a 6-4 first set. The Zalewski s came back in the second set and won by the same 6-4 score.

The third set was a 10-point tie break that seesawed back and forth and ended with the longest point of the match that went to the Zalewski team and sealed the tie break 10-8, giving them the championship with the Haakensons grabbing a hard fought second place.
