Leo Lawrence Beck Sr., 98

Leo Lawrence Beck Sr., of White Lake, died Friday, August 25, 2017 at Atrium of Maple Lane in Shawano. He was 98 years old. He was born on December 2, 1918 in Clearwater, Nebraska a son of the late John and Josephine (Rotter) Beck. He married Gladys Stege, the couple later divorced, she preceded him in death.

Leo was a machinist all his life, having been self-employed for many years. In 1964 he became employed by the United States Department of Treasury as a tool and die maker at The Mint. He retired in 1974 and in retirement he continued to do re-work machining until 2012. In 2007 he moved from California to White Lake.

He was a member of St. James and Stanislaus Catholic Parish, White Lake and enjoyed machine work.

Survivors include a daughter, Janet Tomasello of White Lake; three sons, Leo Beck, Jr. of Surprise, AZ, Richard (Mary) Beck of White Lake, and Gary (Karen) Beck of Modesto, CA; five grandchildren, Janice Walton, Angela LeDesma, Rochelle (Jimmy) Revell, John (Joanna) Beck, Brian (Charlie) Beck; great-grandchildren, Dwight (Candice) Walton, Jessica Walton, Joseph and Dominic LeDesma, Zackary and Isaiah Revell, Austin, Logan and Aiden Beck, Dani and Evan Beck; great great-grandchildren, Lucas and Mason Walton.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, John, Carl, Clarence, Christian; sisters, Amelia, Caroline, Gertrude and Agnes.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Tilden, Nebraska. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Tilden.

Brockhaus-Harlan Funeral Home in Tilden and Bradley Funeral Home in Antigo are assisting the family with arrangements.
