ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, August 28th
5:52 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Superior Street. The driver was cited for speed.
7:10 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for speed. A traffic education class was offered.
8:17 AM Officers responded to a call from an off duty officer reporting a vehicle that was on the wrong side of the street. The caller told officers that it had been driving around the area, all over the road. It then parked, the wrong way at 8th Avenue and Amron Street and a vehicle door was open. The female driver kept going in and out of her vehicle. Officers discovered that the female subject had spilled something all over inside the vehicle and she was cleaning it out when officers arrived. She was cooperative and talking very fast as officers explained the complaint. She cleaned up the vehicle and went straight home.
1:36 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 5th Avenue reporting that when he came home his door was kicked in and he was missing some items. Some of the missing items included a receiver, two sub speakers, a snowboard, $200 in cash, a laundry basket, shaving kit and some rugs. The caller gave officers the name of possible suspect. Officers were investigating.
7:06 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a dirt bike racing around a house on S. Lincoln Street, disturbing the neighbors. Officers advised the male subject at that residence of the complaint.
8:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
9:16 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hudson Street and 5th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:07 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 7th Avenue and Morse Street. The driver was given a written warning for a defective passenger side headlight.
11:47 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a rolled up $1 bill was found in the parking lot with what appeared to be cocaine inside.
Tuesday, August 29th
5:06 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
5:25 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Hickory Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed and was cited for no proof of insurance.
5:29 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at an area business on S. Superior Street. The driver was arrested for operating after revocation, 1st offense (operating while intoxicated related).
7:45 AM Officers responded to a report of a male subject in a white vehicle, partially onto 5th Avenue, slumped over the wheel. Officers transported the male subject from Birnamwood to the hospital. A sobriety test was performed in the emergency room. He was not intoxicated. Officers found needles in the truck of the male subject’s vehicle.
3:20 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting an adult male shoplifter. The male subject from Nevada was cited for retail theft.
4:01 PM Officers received a call from the male driver of a recovery company reporting that he was physically assaulted by a female subject while attempting to repossess a vehicle on Hwy. 64. He told officers that the windows of the vehicle were tinted and he did not notice that a female subject was sitting inside. When he opened the door, she pushed and shoved him, then took off in the vehicle. Officers received another call from the male subject saying that he could not wait, and would handle the matter himself.
4:41 PM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a 2-3 year old male in the roadway on Field Street by Castle Park. The caller told officers that the child was attempting to follow them down the road. The caller told officers that several people were yelling, when an older male subject with a beard and wearing a hat came out of a blue house across the street and got the child. Officers talked with a female subject who told officers that she was watching the child. She told officers that the boy was being punished for what he did.
11:17 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Ackley Street. The driver was cited for operating without a license and was given a written warning for no insurance.
11:49 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 6th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Wednesday, August 30th
10:07 AM Officers responded to a call from a female subject on Irving Street reporting that a male subject stole money from her again. She told officers that she was missing cash and had been notified by the bank that her debit card was being used. The male subject admitted to the theft. He was referred to the district attorney for theft. On 9/1/17 The female subject notified officers that she had now noticed that her wedding ring, 2 iPads and an iPhone were also missing. These items were later found at a pawn shop in Shawano.
11:14 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Mayfair Street reporting that an item was stolen from the back of his pickup truck overnight. The item taken was a Stihl brush cutter, with a handle bar and a shoulder strap. It was valued at $450.00. The caller told officers that he returned home around 9:00 PM the night before and noticed the brush cutter missing that morning. Several other items were not taken from the vehicle.
4:56 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 64 and N. Hogan Street. The driver was cited for speed.
9:24 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Pit Road. The female driver was given a written warning for expired registration and a defective tail light.
10:38 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at an area business on Neva Road. The driver was cited for speed and was given a written warning for a graduated driver’s license violation.
10:43 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlight.
11:22 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlight.
Thursday, August 31st
12:36 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
1:58 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at an area business on Industrial Park Road. The male and female subjects in the vehicle told officers that they were homeless. Officers told them to move along.
7:07 PM Officers responded to a call reporting that a 10 year old boy on Graham Avenue had been bitten in the face by a large dog. The caller told officers that the dog was now contained and they were trying to get the bleeding under control.
10:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:07 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Ackley Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:23 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:28 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:45 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Kelly Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:57 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 1st Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
Friday, September 1st
12:06 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 3rd Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for a defective headlight.
1:57 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Forrest Avenue and Mary Street. The driver and passenger were both cited for failure to wear a seatbelt.
4:55 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he hit a deer in front of an area business on S. Superior Street. There were no injuries. The deer was dispatched.
10:03 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a home on Deleglise Street, just north of her residence, had garbage all over the place. The caller told officers that not only did it look bad but her cat had already brought 3 rats home, so she would like it cleaned up. Officers observed four bags of garbage outside. Officers spoke with the male subject at the residence, who said that he would get it picked up.
11:18 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Neva Road and Prosser Place. It was a truck versus vehicle accident. Property damage only. The truck backed into the front of the vehicle. There was no damage to the large truck, but there was front-end damage to the vehicle.
3:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Arctic Street reporting that a small boy, wearing an aqua shirt, broke the window on a yellow garage one block north of his residence. Officers observed damage to 2 garage windows at a residence on Kaplanek Avenue. A 7 year old male subject was identified and admitted to breaking the windows. Officers told the juvenile’s father what had happened. Officers gave him the victim’s contact information. He told officers that he would take care of the costs.
7:58 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was given a 10 day correction notice for registration.
8:35 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle crash in front of an area business on Hwy. 64. One lane of traffic was blocked. The male driver of one vehicle was westbound on Hwy. 64 with no headlights on. The female driver of the other vehicle was southbound trying to cross Hwy. 64. The female driver told officers that she did not see the other vehicle.
8:55 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for violation of a red light.
9:18 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Cedar Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:20 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 8th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:30 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
10:47 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Memory Lane and Neva Road. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
11:02 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Willard Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
Saturday, September 2nd
2:05 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and North Avenue. The driver was cited for speed.
2:17 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at the fairgrounds on Neva Road. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 4th offense, operating after suspension and obstructing. A male passenger was taken to Corrections on a probation hold.
4:42 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male on Weed Street saying he was attacked by a male subject. Officers found out that the caller and the other male subject had gotten into an argument. The male subject was arrested on a probation hold for a no drink violation.
7:06 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Clermont Street and 10th Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
7:09 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Ackley Street. The driver was cited for failure to fasten their seatbelt.
8:39 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Clermont Street and Graham Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and was given a 10 day correction notice for expired registration.
8:40 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a male subject in a blue Nissan Xterra came through the drive thru screaming and threatening other patrons. Officers found out that the male subject was screaming at another person, with a large complicated order, that was holding up the line. This incident occurred in front of children, other customers and employees. The vehicle left before officer’s arrival. The male subject was identified from cell phone photos. He was cited for disorderly conduct.
Sunday, September 3rd
1:04 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and Smith Avenue. The driver was cited for operating without a license.
3:34 AM Officer stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Maple Street. The driver was cited for speed.
Monday, September 4th
12:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at S. Superior Street and Cedar Street. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
5:19 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. The driver was given a written warning for speed.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Thursday, August 31st
9:41 AM Officers received a call from a female subject from Cedar Rapids, IA reporting that her Paypal Mastercard credit card had been fraudulently used to purchase $350 worth of children’s clothing and that UPS had delivered the package to a residence on Cty. Rd. H in Antigo on 8/15/17. She told officers that the credit card was now cancelled and she had also reported the incident to the police department in Cedar Rapids. Officers were investigating.
Friday, September 1st
12:31 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Neva Road. The male driver was arrested on an Oneida County warrant.
4:56 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that some straw was on fire in the machine shed at a residence at the corner of Mayfair Road and Fairview Road. The roof was already down when officers arrived. Photos were taken at the scene.
Saturday, September 2nd
6:10 AM Officers responded to an anonymous complaint of a gold van parked at the boat landing by Meyer Lake for quite some time with the windows fogged up. Officers found a male and female subject inside the vehicle. They told officers that they were homeless. Officers told the subjects to move along.
1:46 PM Officers responded to several calls reporting a semi/motorcycle/car accident at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. D. It was reported that the motorcyclist was not moving in the roadway. Officers then received a call from the semi driver saying that the motorcyclist was the only one hurt with an injury to the leg. The vehicle and the semi were towed.
Sunday, September 3rd
3:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Cty. Rd. X reporting that he had a counterfeit $100 bill. The male subject showed officers the bill that was counterfeit. He told officers that he was not sure where he received it. He had tried to pay a bill and was then alerted that it was fake. It had “For Motion Picture Use Only” printed on the bill. There were no charges. The bill was logged into evidence for destruction
3:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a male from Wausau reporting that his car was struck by another vehicle while it was parked at an area business on Bass Lake Road while he was playing golf that day. His black Toyota Camry had a large scratch on the passenger side rear quarter panel. There was no other damage. There was no security camera in the area.
9:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a possible drunk driver that was northbound on Hwy. 45 near Birch Road. The caller told officers that the vehicle was swerving, speeding up and slowing down and almost went into the ditch. The vehicle was described as a maroon Chevy Malibu. Officers stopped the vehicle at Superior Street and 7th Avenue. The female driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
Tuesday, September 5th
9:45 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a backpack laying on the south end of the parking lot. Officers found a prescription in the bag along with needles and some baggies. The medication, needles and baggies were destroyed.
1:55 PM Officers responded to a report of a minor accident in the driveway of an area business on Hwy. 45. The driver of one vehicle backed into the second vehicle. There was moderate damage to the driver’s side of the second vehicle. A report was completed.
3:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a subject calling to report that they took a curve too sharp and hit a sign at Cty. Rd. B and Hwy. 45. The Highway Department was notified. A state report was completed.
7:11 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building to report a hit and run that occurred at a residence on Cty. Rd. B. The subject told officers that while he was at work the day before, someone hit his vehicle and took off. He had worked from 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM. When he returned to his vehicle after work, he noticed the damage to the rear driver’s side of the vehicle. He also told officers that when he asked his boss about the damage, his boss said that he thought he already knew about it as he had already noticed it at around noon that day. The male told officers that he had also been to an area business on Neva Road that morning around 7:45 AM and thought that the damage may have occurred there. He had asked the business if they had any security footage, but they said that they didn’t. A crash report was completed.
Wednesday, September 6th
9:25 AM A male subject came to the Safety Building to speak to an officer regarding a fraud complaint involving another male subject. The reporting person told officers that the male subject had gone to a residence on Pit Road and pretended that he was working for the reporting person’s lawn mowing business. He asked the female resident for $50 ahead of time to mow her lawn on Thursday or Friday. The reporting male told officers that the male subject hadn’t worked for him in approximately two weeks. The male subject was referred for theft by false representation.
