Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 9/18/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, September 4th
11:41 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on 6th Avenue reporting that a male subject was parked on 6th Avenue near her home in a 2002ish Dodge Caravan and it appeared that he was changing his clothes. He got out of the vehicle and was half naked, and when he got back in, it appeared that he was changing his pants or something. The caller told officers that the vehicle left westbound on 6th Avenue. She was concerned for her children. The male subject was described as an older, heavy set man. Officers were unable to locate the male subject.
2:17 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Deleglise Street. One woman was injured. Vehicle 2 was traveling southbound on Deleglise Street. Vehicle 1 backed out of a driveway. The driver of Vehicle 1 said that they did not see Vehicle 2 coming. Vehicle 2 struck Vehicle 1 as it was backing out. One vehicle was towed.
5:34 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they just had a couple shoplift from the store. They left going eastbound on 4th Avenue in a 4 door, green 1999 Mercury Sable. The caller gave officers the license plate number. The female subject took a child’s chair from an area by the door and some water out of a cooler. Officers believed that they knew the identity of the female subject, but they were unable to locate her. Officers located the suspected male subject later that night. He consented to a search of his vehicle. Nothing of interest was found.
Tuesday, September 5th
2:54 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that two male subjects had been dropped off there and they were very intoxicated. They also reported that one of the male subjects stole a sandwich and a phone charger.
Thursday, September 7th
1:10 AM Officers were doing a walk-through at an area business on Edison Street. A male subject was arrested on a probation hold.
2:44 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Spruce Street and S. Clermont Street. The female driver was arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia and a probation hold. She was also cited for operating without a driver’s license and having no proof of insurance. A male subject was arrested for possession of meth and possession of drug paraphernalia.
10:28 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on 6th Avenue reporting that they had a fraudulent check that was cashed by a male subject on 8/25/17. The check was missing the routing number. 9/8/17 Officers took a written statement from the male subject, who admitted to cashing the check as he thought it was valid. He told officers that the check was sent through Federal Express and all he had to do was text his phone number and cash the check. The business listed on the check was notified. Their legal team was looking into the incident.
Friday, September 8th
4:19 PM Officers responded to several reports of a two vehicle accident at Amron Avenue and Neva Road. Vehicle 1 was southbound on Neva Road. Vehicle 2 was stopped at a stop sign and then proceeded in front of the southbound Vehicle 1. Vehicle 2 failed to yield the right of way and the driver of Vehicle 2 stated that he didn’t see the other vehicle. The driver of Vehicle 1 told officers that he was traveling the speed limit and there was nothing he could do to stop.
5:58 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a gas drive-off of $44.62. The caller told officers that the vehicle left northbound on Neva Road. They gave officers the license plate number. They also told officers that it may have been a mistake because the customer did have a credit card in the machine. Officers found out that the registered owner of the vehicle was from Mosinee. A teletype was sent to the Marathon County Sheriff’s office to get the owner’s phone number.
Saturday, September 9th
7:15 PM Officers were out at an area business on Edison Street. A male subject was arrested on two Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrants.
Sunday, September 10th
4:26 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male shoplifter took off and got into a black Mercury that headed eastbound on Prosser Place and then southbound on Charlotte Street. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers viewed security video and positively identified the male suspect. The male subject had stolen merchandise from the store several times over the past few weeks. One of those thefts involved almost $300 worth of merchandise including fishing poles and hunting equipment. Officers were still investigating.
7:35 PM Officers were out with a male subject in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The male subject was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant.
Monday, September 11th
10:36 AM Officers were out with a vehicle at Clermont Street and 1st Avenue. The female driver of the vehicle had crashed into a road closed sign. She was written for re-exam.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, September 6th
6:58 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Hwy. 45 reporting that a black truck was driving recklessly on the gravel road behind his house. The caller told officers that the subject was driving really fast and had done it before. He was concerned for the safety of his children. The vehicle was described as a black 2007 GMC Sierra. Officers made contact with the male driver. He admitted to “getting on the gas” on Dorr Street. Officers had a discussion with him about his driving habits. He agreed to refrain from doing it in the future.
Thursday, September 7th
8:58 AM Officers arrested a male subject at a residence on Cty. Rd. TT on a Department of Corrections warrant. He was transported to Corrections. The male subject was referred for obtaining prescription drugs without a valid prescription. He had approximately 13 Quetiapine Fumarate 50mg pills hidden in his underwear.
Friday, September 8th
7:58 AM Officers responded to a call from a driver for an area towing business reporting that he was at the scene of an accident on Cty. Rd. O approximately 1 mile east of Hwy. 17. He told officers that he had been notified by the insurance company for a tow, but wasn’t told that there was damage from an accident.
10:08 AM Officers received a call from a female reporting a second fraudulent call for Mega Millions. The female told officers that they left her a message saying that she was the first place winner in Mega Millions. They gave her a phone number and told her that all she had to do was pay the processing fee. She was also told to “keep it quiet” until she received her money. She did not call them back. The female told officers that she had received a similar call a few months earlier.
12:50 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Bass Lake Road in Deerbrook reporting that they were missing batteries out of some golf carts. They told officers that the batteries were kept in a “staging area.” 13 batteries had been taken, with a value of $250.00. There were no suspects at that time.
6:48 PM Officers responded to a 911 from a male on Cty. Rd. Y reporting that a motorcycle went past his residence at a high rate of speed and he then heard a crash. The Antigo Fire Department was paged. According to witnesses, the male driver from Weston was going 80 to 100 MPH. An accident report was filed and citations were issued to the male driver.
Saturday, September 9th
11:17 AM Officers responded a call from a male subject on Everlands Way reporting that his Mirrocraft 14’ aluminum boat was stolen from the shoreline. He told officers that he noticed it was missing the day before. The boat had a dent in the front that was fixed with tar, which made it look like a shark. The male subject gave officers the serial number of the boat. He also had a photo of the boat.
10:14 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a vehicle that was speeding at 130 MPH, then slowing down, swerving and crossing the centerline on Hwy. 45. The caller gave officers the license plate number of the vehicle. Officers stopped the vehicle at 5th Avenue and Laurisa Lane. The male driver was cited for operating left of center and was given a verbal warning for texting and driving.
Monday, September 11th
1:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his light bar was stolen from his Jeep while it was parked at the trailhead on Hwy. 52 near Turtle Lake Road. The perps also scraped and chipped his windshield while doing it. The caller told officers that his friend saw two people with black hoodies by the Jeep when she went to the bathroom on Saturday morning between 2-3 AM. Nothing else was missing. The value of the light bar was $500. There were no suspects.
