36th Annual Tomahawk Fall Ride for MDA September 14th-17th Downtown, Tomahawk. The 36th Annual Tomahawk Fall Ride brings in more than 40,000 motorcycle enthusiasts and others to the area each September. The event not only brings in entertainment and the newest motorcycles and accessories from Harley-Davidson Motor Company, but it also raises money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Play & Learn September 14th 9:30-11am N4013 Hwy. 45, Antigo. Play & Learn is a weekly play group program for parents, caregivers and children from birth to age 5. Staff will provide a parent lesson, an activity for parents and children to do together. The activity will build skills for school readiness and milestone achievement. 5th Quarter September 15th 6-9pm Smith Center, 1100 Marc Dr., Merrill. The 5th Quarter is designed for youth in grades 6, 7 & 8. The Smith Center arena is full of inflatables for the youth plus a DJ for some dancing. Merrill Youth Hockey will have their concession stand open plus will be offering FREE popcorn. 5th Quarter provide a positive environment for our youth, and an opportunity to socialize with many of their peers. 18th Annual Lakes & Leaves Bike Ride September 16th 7am-2pm Summit Lake Park, Hwy. 45, Summit Lake. Join us for a ride through the spectacular scenery of northern Langlade County! With 4 different route lengths (6, 18, 38, and 62-mile) we have something for everyone. Bike helmets are required for all riders. The ride will be on paved public roads with rolling hills & beautiful scenic views; therefore, riders must obey all traffic laws. The 4 routes will be well marked, along with rest stops stocked with water, sports drinks, fruit & snacks. Restrooms will be available at each stop. All riders are welcomed with morning refreshments at registration. Lunch will be served at 12:30pm following the ride. Riders of all ages may participate. Children under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. September 15th is a meet & greet at the Refuge Restaurant (Corner of Hwy 45 & 64) from 5-7pm to meet fellow riders, pick up your T-shirt & route map. Appetizers will be provided. Pre-registered and non-registered riders must check in between 7am & 11am on Saturday at Summit Lake Park. Event will be held rain or shine!
4rd Annual Kendal Bug Shuffle 3K September 16th 7am registration. Walk begins at 8:30am. Cardinal Park, 200 E. Madison St., Crandon. A fun run/walk designed for casual runners, walkers and joggers. The Kendal Bug Shuffle 3K is locally organized & 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. There will also be concessions, face painting & lady bug tattoos.
Antigo Farmer’s Market September 16th 8am-Noon Heinzen Pavilion, 603 6th Avenue, Antigo. All produce is locally grown by the vendor who sells them. Shopping at the Antigo Farmer’s Market is a great way to get local, in season food, and make connections with the people that grew it.
EAA Warbird Badger Oconto Fly-In September 16th 9am-5pm Oconto Airport, 2983 Airport Road, Oconto. Warbird aircraft that attended in 2016 are Yaks, WACO, L 19 Bird Dogs, a TBM Avenger and various others. In 2015 there were over 50 different types of aircraft that attended. Remote Controlled (R. C.’s) will fly during the day with a one hour show scheduled at 2pm. The car & tractor show in 2015 had 250 Model A’s & T’s, muscle cars, tractors & everything in between. The army encampment expands every year. Vendors, crafters and artisans will be in attendance & visitors will enjoy the variety available. An opening ceremony honoring our veterans is scheduled at 10:30am. As always a wide variety of food, beverages & desserts will be available. Airplane and helicopter rides will be available for a fee. 27th Annual Lake Tomahawk Lioness Club Harvest Festival September 16th 9am-3pm Snow Shoe Baseball Diamond, Lake Tomahawk. The Festival is filled with arts and crafts, cars, a farmers market and fun. With something for every member of the family, it features a children’s area where wooden pumpkins can be decorated. Prizes are awarded in age groups. Concession stand offerings will be available, and our famous pies will be sold as well as caramel and turtle apples. The festival is a fundraising event for the Lake Tomahawk Lioness Club.
