Gloria “Yaya” Stickney, 61
Gloria “Yaya” Stickney, longtime Antigo resident, died Tuesday, September 12, 2017 in Sheboygan. She was 61 years old. She was born on September 15, 1955, in Antigo, a daughter of Earl and Gloria (Diestler) Stickney.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1974 and was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church.
After graduation she lived in Minnesota for two years. She returned to Antigo, worked as a CNA at Eastview Nursing Home before she starting her own in home day care which she operated until 1985. She moved to Sheboygan in 2016.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, making the kids stockings and plastic canvas crafting.
Her lifetime passion was spending time with kids.
Survivors include four sisters, Ann (Denny) Jakl of Appleton, Marilyn (Jack) Prepster of Sheboygan, Gail (Richard) Schoepke of Tigerton, Karen (Duncan) Henke of Antigo; two step-sisters, Theresa Steele of Wausau, Shelly (Mark) Gehrke of Wausau;
five brothers, Joseph (Jean) Stickney of Grafton, Marlin (Kathy) Stickney of Antigo, David Stickney (fiancee Jennifer Bailey) of Gleason, Kenneth (Faye) Stickney of Antigo, Robert (Naomi) Stickney of Glenallen, Alaska; step-brother, Nickolas (Mary) Schmelter of UT; sister-in-law, Dorothy (Tim) Sharp of Antigo; step-sister-in-law, Sue Schmelter of Decatur, AL; step-father, Coleman Day of Antigo.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Stickney and Gloria Stickney-Schmelter-Day; a brother, Jerry Stickney; step-brother-in-law, Norman Steele, step-sister, Linda Ruf, step-brother, Ted Schmelter, Step-father, Earl Schmelter.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday September 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Peace Lutheran Church with Rev. David Karolus officiating.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church.
