Jean S. Wheeler, 91
Jean S. Wheeler, age 91, of Antigo, died September 17, 2017, at Rosalia Garden under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.
Jean was born April 23, 1926. Her parents were Alfred and Charlotte Shaughnessy.
She attended Michigan State University, where she got her bachelor’s degree in Education. In 1949, she married Robert Wheeler. Jean was a homemaker and mother as well as a 2nd Grade Teacher in Wilmette, Illinois. She enjoyed golf and playing bridge. She was artistic, enjoyed crafts, photography and liked to arrange wildflowers.
Jean was a member of St. Ambrose Episcopal Church in Antigo.
Survivors include her six children, Karen (significate other, Deborah Piner) Wheeler, of Seattle, WA., Kris Wheeler of Seattle, WA., Thomas (Kathie) Wheeler, of Viroqua, Susan (Jim) Gleason, of Champaign, IL., Jack (Gwynne McClure) Wheeler of Eugene, OR., and Sarah (Dave) Lange, of Green Bay. Six grandchildren, Alison Mae (David Reuter) Wheeler, of Madison, Daniel Thomas (Karla) Wheeler, of Madison, Christina Jane Scheller, of East Lansing, Michael Joseph Lange, of Chicago, Andrew James Lange, of Chicago and Meghan Lange, currently attending UW Eau Claire. Two sisters, Mary Ellen (Jim) Draeger, of Deerbrook and Gail Rasmussen of
Palm Harbor, FL.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A memorial service will be held at Rosalia Gardens in Antigo on Sept 29, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:30 until the time of the service. Father Chuck Dailey will officiate.
