Lorraine Green Sims Servi, 96
Lorraine Green Sims Servi, age 96, of Antigo, died September 12, 2017, at Evergreen Terrace under the care of LeRoyer Hospice.
Lorraine was born on August 17, 1921 in Antigo to the late Erving C. and Blanche (Teske) Green.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1939. On August 24, 1946 she was united in marriage to Charles A. Sims. The couple moved to Ft. Wayne, IN for several years, where Lorraine was employed by the Indiana State Unemployment Service and the Internal Revenue Service. They returned to Antigo in 1950 and opened the first Westinghouse Laundromat in Antigo. The couple enjoyed golfing and were members at Bass Lake Country Club.
In 1967 Lorraine graduated from Langlade County Teacher’s College. Lorraine taught first grade in the White Lake School District for 16 years. She also received her bachelor degree in teaching from UW Stevens Point in 1974. In 1968 Charles preceded her in death. On July 26, 1976 Lorraine was united in marriage to Melbourne A. Servi. She assisted Melbourne in the fire equipment business. Melbourne preceded Lorraine in death in 1990.
Lorraine was a member of Faith United Church of Christ. She was a Sunday school teacher and member of their choir. She served on the Diaconate, was a member of Ladies Fellowship and was a church historian.
Lorraine was a member of Langlade County Historical Society, supported the Pickerel Fire Department and Raptor Education Group Inc.
Survivors include a son David (Sherry) Sims of Parker, CO, a stepdaughter, Sandra Servi (John) Johnson of Green Bay, 2 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 4 step great grandchildren, a sister Gail Green (Gereald) Henke of Cedarburg, WI and a brother James (Agnes, deceased) Green of Appleton.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Lorraine was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Barbara Jane Green and Joan Green Grissom and a stepson, Bruce Servi.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 on Monday, September 18 at Faith United Church of Christ. Reverend Wes Jedras will officiate. Visitation will be held on Sunday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM and on Monday at the church from 9:30 until the service. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
