Margaret “Margy” Guenthner, 62
Margaret “Margy” Guenthner, of Aniwa, died peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2017 at home. She was 62 years old. She was born on May 16, 1955 in Antigo, a daughter of Carol (Dawley) Guenthner, who survives and lives in Antigo and the late Joseph Guenthner.
She was a graduate of Antigo High School with the class of 1973.
Margy was employed in the office at the Langlade County Highway department for 16 years. She owned and operated Green Acres Tavern in the town of Ackley, which was located on the Guenthner homestead. For the past 15 years Margy worked as a claims processor at WPS Insurance in Wausau. She retired in April 2017.
She was an avid reader who enjoyed sewing, shooting pool, campfires, serving as family historian, and going to rummage sales.
Margy will be long remembered as a very giving and kind lady with a wicked sense of humor.
She enjoyed attending concerts performed by Kris Kristopherson, Queen and David Bowie.
She was proud to have raised a son as a single parent. The highlight of her life was time spent with her grandchildren.
In addition to her mother, survivors include a son, Jason “Jake” Guenthner, Wausau; three grandchildren Paris, Jackson and Graham Buettner; a sister, Carolyn (Daniel) Krimmer, Birnamwood; three brothers, Bob (Cheri) Guenthner, Wausau, Joe (Terri) Guenthner, Moscow, Idaho, Jack (Tammy) Guenthner, Summit Lake.
She was preceded in death by significant others James “Monkey Face” Brandt and Glenn Sieber.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Jedras officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home and Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
