Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 10/23/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, October 9th
3:49 PM Officers responded to a report of an elderly female subject with a flat tire in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. The caller told officers that the female had taken a small fall, but was uninjured. She did need assistance with her vehicle. Officers found out that the female subject had actually hit a light pole with her vehicle.
4:15 PM Officers responded to a call from Langlade Hospital requiring assistance with a belligerent male in the lower level of the main hospital clinic.
8:36 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting a possible counterfeit $10 bill. Officers were told that when a male customer gave the clerk the bill, she used her marker on the bill and it showed that the bill was counterfeit, but she then used the marker on the bill again and it showed that it was a legitimate bill. The clerk took the bill from the customer. Officers took photos of the bill.
9:37 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on N. Hogan Street reporting that a female relative had been in her apartment and she later found needles in the couch. The female subject was no longer at the scene. Officers picked up two freshly used syringes. Officers were going to speak with probation & parole about the female subject.
9:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Lincoln Street reporting the theft of a pistol. It was a Taurus 9mm Model PT709 Slim. A statement of non-consent was filed. 10/10/17 The pistol, along with other firearms were recovered and logged into evidence. Charges were pending.
Tuesday, October 10th
1:31 PM Officers cited a male student for truancy for missing all or part of 14 unexcused days from the Antigo High School since the beginning of the year.
1:32 PM Officers cited a female student for truancy for missing all or part of 17 unexcused days from the Antigo High School since the beginning of the year.
1:37 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident at Antigo Middle School.
1:38 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident at Antigo Middle School.
6:00 PM Officers responded to a report of a 30 year old female subject on Deleglise Street who was unresponsive due to a heroin overdose. Officers were speaking with the District Attorney about possible charges.
Wednesday, October 11th
11:29 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Jerome Street reporting the theft of five batteries out of customer’s campers while they were in their lot. Officers were investigating.
3:18 PM Officers responded to a call from Langlade Hospital reporting that a tan Toyota truck was parked by the skywalk and a male subject had been in and out of the skywalk a few times. The caller told officers that the male subject was wearing a long coat and his truck was full of junk. They told officers that they thought that this may be the subject that had been stealing paper towels. Officers found out that the vehicle was listed to a subject from Sussex.
8:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was northbound on Superior Street near 1st Avenue and he was being followed very closely by a silver vehicle. The caller told officers that the male suspect had gotten out of his car and approached him, then got back in and followed them. The suspects then passed the caller at a high rate of speed in Neva. Officers stopped the silver vehicle. They gave the male driver a verbal warning for erratic driving and disorderly conduct. He was not intoxicated. The male subject claimed that the other driver had started the incident.
Thursday, October 12th
10:08 AM Officers responded to a call from East Elementary reporting that a male, 1st grade student had taken off from school. A teacher was out with the male student at Virginia Street and 9th Avenue, but the boy refused to go back to school. Officers escorted the male student back to school. The school was going to handle the student.
10:17 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that a window on the north side of the building had been broken overnight. Half of a brick had been thrown through the window. Two other windows had also been broken in the upper level of another building on Superior Street. There were no suspects.
12:26 PM Officers cited a male student for truancy for missing all or part of 5 unexcused days since the beginning of the school year.
12:27 PM Officers cited a female student for truancy for missing all or part of 6 unexcused days since the beginning of the school year.
2:26 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that some items had been stolen from her storage unit on Bridge Street, sometime since 10/7/17. She told officers that she found her key in the lock and she believed that she must have left it there. The female told officers that she just wanted the incident on file. Missing items included a couple of tote bags, a wooden stool, several DVDs, 2 tires & rims and a few Sharpies. There were no suspects.
2:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 2nd Avenue who was out of breath and reporting that a female subject just walked into her home without knocking and started screaming, yelling and using profanity. The female subject then left in a vehicle in an unknown direction. The caller told officers that the other female was upset over her checking someone out of the hospital. She told officers that she did not want this female subject at her home again. Officers warned the female subject that she would be cited or arrested if she returned to the residence.
3:00 PM Officers responded to a call from a female at Antigo Middle School reporting that they had some students who were trading prescription medication. Officers cited a male student for possession of alcohol on school grounds, possession of tobacco and possession of Schedule II narcotics. Officers cited a second male student for possession of alcohol on school grounds, and delivery of Schedule II narcotics. Officers cited a third male student for possession of tobacco.
8:01 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting a possible theft. The caller gave officers the name of a possible male suspect who they believed had stolen some beef jerky and possibly something else. The suspect drove off in a black Dodge Charger. The caller gave officers the license plate number. Officers viewed the security video from the business and identified the male subject. Officers were following up.
9:06 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a red Chevy diesel pickup was in the parking lot of an area business on Edison Street and two male subjects in the vehicle were breaking bottles in the parking lot. Officers picked up a broken beer bottle and coffee mug in the lot.
Friday, October 13th
10:44 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they were holding a female subject for shoplifting. The female had attempted to fill two totes with items and then go through the check-out line and only pay for the totes. The total of the items she attempted to take was $460.32. Officers cited the female subject for retail theft.
11:27 AM Officers responded to a call from a female driving on Hwy. 45 reporting that someone in a black Pontiac Grand Prix had tried to run her off of the road. The vehicle was southbound on Hwy. 45. The female gave officers the name of a possible suspect. She also told officers that she thought that they had struck the rear of her vehicle. Officers saw some scratches, but could not tell if they were old or new. The female had her seven month old child in the back seat at the time of the incident. A teletype was sent to the Shawano County Sheriff’s Department with information on the vehicle.
1:30 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct and referred another male student for an incident that occurred on a school bus the night before from Antigo Middle School.
4:47 PM A male subject came to the Safety Building with a counterfeit $100 bill that he found on the walking trail on 2nd Avenue.
6:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on 10th Avenue reporting vandalism to his house door and his pickup truck. He told officers that sometime the night before, someone took a knife tip and put X’s all over the door and the pickup truck.
8:22 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Lincoln Street reporting that his step son was parked in the driveway and a car pulled up and a male subject pulled a gun on him. The caller told officers that he was following the male subject, which dispatchers told him to stop doing. The vehicle was described as a black Dodge Charger. He gave officers the license plate number. The vehicle was pulled over at Hwy. 64 and Ackley Road. The male driver was arrested for recklessly endangering safety, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct.
8:35 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 3rd Avenue reporting that she received some strange mail from China. She told officers that when she opened it, it was empty. She then put her hand in the envelope and now her hand felt tingly. The Antigo Fire Department was paged to look at the female’s hand. The Antigo Fire Department told officers that the 4×4 envelope was completely empty. Officers were advised.
11:18 PM Officers stopped a vehicle on 3rd Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating after revocation and possession of drug paraphernalia and Schedule II narcotics. He was also cited for operating without headlights.
Saturday, October 14th
1:09 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 64 and N. Hogan Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
4:04 PM Officers received several 911 calls reporting a two car accident at Hwy. 64 and Hwy. 45 with a female subject having chest pains and reporting that the traffic lights were not working properly. Both vehicles were towed.
11:54 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she was in a vehicle at Kastle Park on Field Street and a male subject had come up to their vehicle and asked if they had drugs. Another male subject then came up on a bike and the two male subjects exchanged items. The caller left the area just prior to making the call.
Sunday, October 15th
12:28 AM Officers responded to a report that a highly intoxicated male subject was trying to start fights at an area business on 5th Avenue. The male subject was wearing a hoodie and blue jeans. Officers warned the male subject to leave and not go back into the business.
12:42 AM Officers were flagged down in front of an area business on Edison Street. Officers found out a male subject there, was the same male that had been causing a disturbance at an area business on 5th Avenue. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct.
2:29 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Edison Street reporting that a male and female subject were fighting behind the business. The male subject was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
1:08 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Virginia Street reporting that someone was taking something from his garage. The caller told officers that two male subjects in a black or dark gray Chevy pickup had come to his house to pick up an air compressor, but he caught them taking a Stihl chainsaw and numerous tools out of his garage. When they were seen, the two subjects jumped into the pickup and took off. Officers charged a male subject with theft.
7:20 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male subject requesting an ambulance for a female subject with a possible broken arm. The male subject told officers that they had been wrestling. The male subject was arrested for domestic battery.
Monday, October 16th
2:37 AM Officers came across a very intoxicated male subject at 5th Avenue and Edison Street. Officers gave him a ride to his residence on Forrest Avenue.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Friday, October 13th
5:41 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a possible intoxicated driver on Hwy. 45. The caller told officers that it was dark car, swerving behind a semi-truck. Officers stopped the vehicle on Hwy. 45. The driver was not intoxicated. The male driver was cited for no proof of insurance and was given a written warning for operating left of center.
7:27 AM Officers attempted a traffic stop. After a short chase, the vehicle was stopped at Deresch Street and 7th Avenue. The male driver was arrested on four warrants, fleeing, felony bail jumping, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A male passenger was arrested for possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
3:13 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 in Elcho reporting a gas drive off of $35 by two younger male subjects in a silver sedan that took off going east on Cty. Rd. K. Officers were going to view the store video.
4:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a break in at his cabin and garage on W. Elcho Road. It occurred sometime between 9/16/17 and 10/13/17. Officers entered some items into evidence for fingerprinting and possible DNA.
8:48 PM Officers stopped the vehicle from the Antigo Police Department complaint at Hwy. 64 and Ackley Road. Officers waited for backup as this was considered a high risk stop. Two firearms were located in the vehicle. One AR-15 rifle (magazine was in the glove box) was set vertically between the console and front passenger’s seat, barrel up. One Ruger pistol was in the glove box with a full magazine in it and an additional loaded magazine in the glove box. The male driver was arrested for recklessly endangering safety, endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct. The vehicle was towed.
Saturday, October 14th
8:21 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she rolled her vehicle on a curve on Hwy. 64, west of Cty. Rd. M. She told officers that she was not injured. The vehicle was towed. A state report was filed.
Sunday, October 15th
12:41 AM Officers responded to a call from an area towing business reporting that they were called to an accident at Maple Road and Mapleview Road. The female driver told officers that she had been traveling too fast for conditions and went into the ditch. A state report was completed.
Tuesday, October 17th
5:09 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a white LeBaron vehicle cruising on Whitetail Lane off of Cty. Rd. K for the past week and shooting deer of the window. The reporting person told officers that two dead deer have been found. The caller told officers that the vehicle was occupied by two Native American male subjects. They also told officers that neighbors have been concerned about bullets going through their cabins. The information was forwarded to the Department of Natural Resources. Officers were going to keep an eye on the area.
