Second Chuckles for Charity event a success
For the Antigo Times
On Saturday Oct 21st, North Star Lanes in Antigo presented the second annual standup comedy fundraiser show, Chuckles for Charity 2. The ticket proceeds, t-shirt sales, donations and 50/50 done at the show were to benefit two charities: the Ronald McDonald House of Eastern Wisconsin and the MACC Fund (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer). Both charities were chosen to honor Brady Gregurich’s niece Jayden, who passed away from brain cancer in 2009, with all proceeds going to these charities helping kids and their families who are battling cancer.
The four featured comedians were Andrew McKenzie from Madison, Brady Gregurich from Antigo, Geoff LaFleur from Milwaukee and nationally recognized comedian Frank Roche, with host Dave Steger Jr. The event was sold out with over 275 people packing the North Star Lanes Banquet Hall. All told, the event raised a total of $3,615 which will be split between the two charities.
“A huge thank you to everyone who made the event possible, including Stephanie Steger and North Star Lanes and their entire wonderful staff, Dave and Tammy Steger, the four comedians who donated their time for the event, Tim and Maureen Gregurich, and Clint and Steph Powell for the amazing music and stage set up. And the biggest thank you to everyone who attended the show to make it a resounding success. Your support has truly been humbling and inspiring. Here’s to making Chuckles for Charity an annual event and bringing a 3rd annual back next year. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Gregurich said.
