Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 11/20/17
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, November 6th
3:23 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road requesting an officer for a male customer from California that was accusing an employee of stealing a knife out of his vehicle and causing damage to his vehicle. The employee denied taking the male subject’s knife. The manager of the business told officers that they would deal with any damage to the vehicle.
5:46 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting that a Minnesota vehicle was crossing the center line and fog lines and at times was crossing completely into the opposite lane, southbound on Hwy. 45 from Cty. Rd. V. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle finally stopped at Willard Avenue and N. Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 4th offense. He was first taken to Langlade Hospital and then to Corrections. He was also referred for fleeing an officer and operating after revocation.
6:02 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Lincoln Street reporting that a fight was going on in his front yard with four teenagers, 3 males & 1 female, that were arguing with the caller’s daughter. Nothing physical occurred. All parties agreed to leave each other alone. One female subject was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Officer warrant.
Tuesday, November 7th
6:20 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had just gotten there and the vehicles in the showroom were smashed. Someone drove a vehicle through the showroom window. The car was still running. The business had security video of the male subject that had gained entry to the business. Officers were investigating.
1:15 PM A male came to the Safety Building to report damage to the business that he owned on Amron Avenue. He told officers that a fiberglass skylight was broken in the middle bay of the business. He also told officers that he had video showing a male subject walking north toward the business. A brick had been thrown through the skylight. Officers took video and photos of the damage.
Wednesday, November 8th
1:17 PM Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting that a car ran into an area business on S. Superior Street. The male driver from Bonduel was cited for operating while suspended and having no proof of insurance.
3:26 PM Officers cited a female subject for the theft of library materials in the amount of $199.95.
3:27 PM Officers cited a male subject from White Lake for the theft of library materials in the amount of $25.00.
3:29 PM Officers cited a female subject for the theft of library materials in the amount of $51.79.
3:30 PM Officers cited a female subject from Antigo for the theft of library materials in the amount of $97.09.
3:31 PM Officers cited a female subject from Summit Lake for the theft of library materials in the amount of $32.99.
3:33 PM Officers cited a female subject from Elcho for the theft of library materials in the amount of $236.54.
3:34 PM Officers cited a male subject from Pelican Lake for the theft of library materials in the amount of $138.69.
3:26 PM Officers cited a female subject from Pelican Lake for the theft of library materials in the amount of $84.92.
3:38 PM Officers cited a female subject from Bowler for the theft of library materials in the amount of $69.19.
3:40 PM Officers cited a male subject from Rhinelander for the theft of library materials in the amount of $78.96.
3:41 PM Officers cited a female subject from Antigo for the theft of library materials in the amount of $56.88.
3:42 PM Officers cited a female subject from Elcho for the theft of library materials in the amount of $38.98.
3:44 PM Officers cited a female subject from Antigo for the theft of library materials in the amount of $177.89.
3:45 PM Officers cited a female subject from Antigo for the theft of library materials in the amount of $29.95.
3:48 PM Officers cited a female subject from Antigo for the theft of library materials in the amount of $48.97.
Thursday, November 9th
7:10 AM Officers cited a male student for truancy for missing all or part of 15 unexcused days since the beginning of the school year.
7:11 AM Officers cited a male student for truancy for missing all or part of 13 unexcused days since the beginning of the school year.
7:13 AM Officers cited a male student for truancy for missing all or part of 20 unexcused days since the beginning of the school year.
11:48 AM Officers cited a male student for truancy for missing all or part of 12 unexcused days since the beginning of the school year.
11:50 AM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct for an incident that occurred at the Antigo High School on 11/2/17.
11:52 AM Officers cited a male student for having cigarettes in his locker at Antigo High School.
11:55 AM Officers responded to a report of two male students fighting at Antigo High School. One male student had punched another male student several times in the face during lunch. The school was going to discipline the male student. Officers warned him that if it happened again, he would be charged with disorderly conduct.
1:53 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident at the intersection of Neva Road and Century Avenue. There was no visible damage to the vehicle.
4:03 PM Officers responded to a two car accident at Neva Road and Ackley Street. Vehicle 1 was traveling north on Neva Road. Vehicle 2 was stopped at the stop sign on Ackley Street. Vehicle 2 made a left turn and collided with Vehicle 1, failing to yield the right of way to Vehicle 1. Property damage only. A report was completed.
4:36 PM Officers came upon an accident at Clermont Street and Amron Avenue. One vehicle was towed.
8:52 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at 6th Avenue and Superior Street. The female driver was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant. She was also cited for operating while suspended.
Friday, November 10th
11:31 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had a female shoplifter detained and she was being a bit uncooperative. The female subject had tried to leave the business with a cart full of merchandise worth $1,800. The female subject was referred to the District Attorney on charges of retail theft.
11:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on S. Park Street reporting that his 42” flat screen tv was taken from his house. He gave officers the names of some possible suspects. Officers were investigating.
1:57 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident at 10th Avenue and Dorr Str. The driver was out of the vehicle and no ambulance was needed. Property damage only.
Saturday, November 11th
8:50 AM Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on S. Hudson Street. One female subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of drug paraphernalia & probable possession of heroin. Another subject was arrested for possession of meth and probable possession of heroin.
4:11 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident on Hwy. 64. Two subjects were injured and needed assistance getting out of the vehicles. Both vehicles were towed.
4:13 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had a male shoplifter. The male subject from Laona was cited for retail theft.
Sunday, November 12th
12:38 AM The Antigo Fire Department was sent to an apartment building on S. Superior Street for a fire alarm going off. Four subjects had been vaping and when they opened the door to the hallway to clear the haze out of the room, fire alarms went off. Two female subjects were also cited for underage alcohol.
2:15 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at 9th Avenue and Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
3:15 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. Property damage only.
4:11 PM Officers responded to several 911 calls reporting an accident at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. Officers were told that everyone was out of the vehicle and they did not need an ambulance.
5:28 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Superior Street reporting that they had received a counterfeit $50 bill the night before. Officers spoke with a female who told them that they took the bill from a named female subject. Officers were going to follow up.
Monday, November 13th
9:54 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a female struck his vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Langlade Road.
10:27 AM Officers cited a female student for underage alcohol at Antigo High School.
10:27 AM Officers cited two female students for underage alcohol at Antigo Middle School.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, November 8th
1:54 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident in the yard at an address on Forrest Avenue. The male driver had been involved in an earlier accident at an area business on S. Superior Street. He had then driven east on Forrest Avenue to a repair shop. He was taking his vehicle there because the brakes had gone out. He drove into the driveway and tried to park, but drove over the wood retaining wall and struck another vehicle. The male driver was cited for operating while suspended and having no insurance. A state report was completed.
Thursday, November 9th
6:08 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that her husband had just called her stating that he had been in an accident at Cty. Rd. S & Marl Road. There were no injuries. The female driver of the other vehicle was cited for no insurance. The female subject’s vehicle was towed. A state crash report was completed.
10:32 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she went into the ditch and hit a telephone pole near a residence on Old 26 Road. She told officers that she had hit her head but didn’t want an ambulance. Her vehicle was towed.
12:49 PM Officers responded to a call from a motorist reporting that a tan four door vehicle was in the ditch on Hwy. 55, south of Cty. Rd. K. The caller did not see anyone around the vehicle. Officers attempted to contact the registered owner. A tow truck was called. The male driver of the vehicle later called dispatch, once the tow truck was already on the scene. He was upset that the tow truck had been called. Officers told the male that he should have called them when the accident occurred. The vehicle owner was cited for an expired registration.
Friday, November 10th
12:14 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a structure fire in a shed at her residence. The female told officers that she had checked the wood burner in the garage at approximately 10:00 PM and the fire was down to coals. She woke up later to the fire. When officers arrived the fire had been mostly contained with a garden hose. Nothing suspicious was observed. It appeared to be an accidental wood fire.
6:40 AM Officers responded to a report of a truck in the ditch on Cty. Rd. T, west of Cty. Rd. TT. No one was around the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. Officers spoke with the male owner of the truck. He told officers that he had given another male subject permission to use the truck on 11/9/17 at approximately 10:30 PM. After four hours, he went to go look for the vehicle and the male subject and found the vehicle in the ditch at approximately 1 to 2 AM. He had tried to get the vehicle out of the ditch, but was unable to. The male driver that borrowed the truck was cited for not reporting an accident.
Saturday, November 11th
6:33 AM Officers came upon a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 52, north of Hwy. 64. There was minimal damage.
1:44 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone had shot at his shop on 9th Street, sometime since last weekend. Officers observed that there were five bullet holes in the caller’s new shed. Officers took photos and looked at the angle that the bullets entered the building. A relative of the caller gave officers the name of a possible male suspect. Officers talked with the male suspect who denied shooting towards the building.
Sunday, November 12th
3:00 AM Officers responded to a call from a male subject on Koepenick Road reporting that his truck was in the ditch at Cty. Rd. B and Bass Lake Road. Officers thought that the male subject sounded extremely intoxicated. He admitted to having a few beers after he walked home from the crash which occurred about ½ hour earlier. The vehicle was towed. The male subject initially lied to officers, saying that he only drank after getting home. When questioned further, he admitted that he had lied. He told officers that he had continued to drink after getting home thinking that it would keep him out of trouble. The male subject was cited for operating left of center, driving too fast for conditions, inattentive driving and reckless driving.
5:49 AM Officers responded to a call from a male on Hwy. 55 reporting that his attached garage was on fire. The caller told officers that he woke up and smelled smoke. Thinking that he left something on, he opened a window to air it out. Later he checked the garage and found that it was on fire.
6:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that his daughter slid into the ditch at Hwy. 47 and Evergreen Road. She wasn’t hurt, but there was damage to the vehicle. The female told officers that with the dense fog, she couldn’t tell that she was coming to the intersection and when she tried to stop, she slid through the intersection. The vehicle was towed.
Wednesday, November 15th
6:22 AM Officers responded to a call from OnStar reporting a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 45 and Huggins Road. One female subject had a wrist injury. All parties were out of the vehicles. Both vehicles were towed. A crash report was completed.
