Antigo swimmers continue to impress at Chippewa Falls meet

For the Antigo Times

The Antigo Penguins competed in Chippewa Falls on Saturday, November 18th. Participating swimmers included Heather Arlen, Tristin Arlen, Myah Bolder, Olivia Braun, Mya Burt, Morgan Rank and Zander Reetz. All the swimmers did a wonderful job and many swam their personal best.

Mya Burt broke the Antigo Swim Club record in the age 9-10 50Y Freestyle with a time of 31.18. She also swam State qualifying times in the 50Y Freestyle, 50Y Backstroke and 50Y Breaststroke.

Heather Arlen, Mya Burt and Tristin Arlen all qualified for the Midwest Regionals (denoted by *).

The Penguins received ribbons in the following swims:

Heather Arlen, age 14:
100Y Breaststroke 1:22.76- 2nd place
100Y Freestyle 1:01.88- 3rd place*
Open 200Y Freestyle 2:18.22- 3rd place*
50Y Freestyle 27.75- 4th place*

Swimming Age Group 9-10

Mya Burt, age 10:
100Y Freestyle 1:10.69- 1st place*
50Y Freestyle 31.18- 1st place* Qualified State and Club Record
50Y Backstroke 37.83- 1st place* Qualified State
50Y Breaststroke 41.09- 1st place* Qualified State

Tristin Arlen, age 10:
100Y IM 1:27.52- 1st place*
100Y Freestyle 1:11.49- 2nd place*
50Y Backstroke 39.56- 2nd place*
50Y Freestyle 32.66- 2nd place*

Zander Reetz, age 10:
100Y IM 2:07.10- 3rd place
50Y Breaststroke 1:12.99- 6th place

Relay

Girls 14 & under 200Y IM Relay- Mya Burt, Tristin Arlen, Heather Arlen and Morgan Rank – 2:23.63- 1st place


The Penguins are coached by Janelle Bolder and Michelle Arlen. The Penguins will host their first home meet on Saturday, December 2nd.
