Bernard F. “Bud” Krueger, 92
Bernard F. “Bud” Krueger, of Antigo, entered Heaven’s gates, Friday, November 10, 2017, while at his home with his family. He was 92 years old. Bud was born on June 13, 1925, in Polar, Wisconsin, to Fredrick and Ann (Now) Krueger. He married Darlene Gravitter in 1946. She went on before him, April 26, 2002.
Bud proudly served in the United States Marine Corps in the Sixth Marine Division. His military occupation was BAR (Browning Automatic Rifle) gunner from 1943 – 1945, he was a Marine Corps Rifle Expert. He was wounded in a battle at Okinawa, received a Purple Heart.
He was a welder at Lockwood Graders which later became Potatogation Inc.
Bud was a charter member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
He was a fabricator and enjoyed making things with metal. He appreciated fishing, hunting, trapping, and playing cards with friends. He was very proud of his grandchildren and treasured their talks.
Bud leaves behind a daughter, Diane Kondrath, Antigo; a son, Daniel Krueger, Antigo; five grandchildren, Wesley Kondrath USAF, Zachry Kondrath, Albuquerque, N.M., Bradley Kondrath USAF Veteran, Albuquerque, N.M., Tim Krueger, Atlanta, Ga., and Katie Krueger, Atlanta, Ga.; a sister, LaVerne Monnot, Pickerel; and two Goddaughters, Sherrie Lund, Antigo and Suzan O’Keefe, Stevens Point.
In addition to his wife; a daughter, Charlene “Honesy” Krueger; and two sisters, Arlene Sanders and Elaine Gilmore, all preceded him to Heaven.
A ceremony honoring Bud’s life will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bradley Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery where Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors. Visitation will be on Friday, November 24, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
