It seems as though Antigo cannot catch a break when it comes to weather for the Annual Chili Cook-off and Christmas Parade, hosted by the Antigo/Langlade County Chamber of Commerce. Though only in the teens and colder still with the wind chill factor, an impressive turnout lined 5th Avenue downtown as local businesses served up both roughneck and traditional chilis while floats and vehicles provided a beginning to the season of holiday cheer.
In the roughneck chili division, first place went to Hydratight, with City Gas Company and Big Love Bully following up in the second and third places, respectively. For the traditional chili cook-off, Baginski Enterprise won it all as Waukesha Bearings and the City of Antigo came close in the silver and bronze spots.
The award of “Best Decorated Booth” went to Neve’s Flooring, with Waukesha Bearings taking second and Fantastic Sams winning a third place finish in this festively creative category.
The parade itself had its fair share of winners, where the Deerbrook Eager Beavers 4-H Club and Lakeside Market won the top parade float/vehicle titles in their respective “Club or Organization” and “Business” categories.
Please enjoy our pictures of both the Annual Chili Cook-off and the Christmas Parade in this edition of the Antigo Times. More pictures of the parade itself will be posted shortly and we wish you and your loved ones a happy and healthy holiday season.
