Antigo Penguins compete in Lakeland, two swimmers qualify for regionals

The Antigo Penguins competed in Lakeland on Saturday, January 20th. Competing swim clubs included Antigo, Bay Area, Lakeland, Rice Lake and Phillips. Participating swimmers from the Penguins included Emily Gravitter, Meredith Meidl, Morgan Rank, Erika Gravitter, Alyssa Tincher, Molly Neufeld, Mya Burt, Tristin Arlen, Myah Bolder, Rutger Busse, Brion Koszarek, Zander Reetz, Nate Wild, Maggie Neufeld, Teddy Baginski, Maggie Baginski, Adie Smith, Karl Busse, Makayla Tischendorf, Molly Nelson and Max Bolder. All the swimmers did a wonderful job and many swam their personal best.
Mya Burt broke the age 9-10 Antigo Swim Club record in the 100Y Backstroke with a time of 1:20.00 and her own age 9-10 record in the 50Y Butterfly with a time of 34.35.
Tristin Arlen qualified for State in the 50Y Freestyle. Mya Burt also swam state qualifying times in the 50Y Butterfly, 100Y IM and 100Y Backstroke.
Mya Burt and Tristin Arlen qualified for Midwest Regionals.

The swimmers were coached by Janelle Bolder and Ryne Levis, Austin Arlen and Michelle Arlen.
The Penguins will compete in their Divisionals meet in Rhinelander on Saturday and Sunday, January 27-28. The top 9 in the individual swims and the top 6 in relays will then qualify for the Conference meet. Conference this year will be held in Antigo Saturday and Sunday, February 3-4.
