Callers may remain anonymous.

OWI on Frozen Waters:

Ice fishing in Northern Wisconsin is in full swing and on any given day you will see several ice shacks and vehicles on the lakes in the area. If you drive your vehicle to your shack and plan on spending a day on the ice, and also plan on having a few adult beverages, make sure you have a sober driver if you over indulge.

According to Wisconsin State Statute 346.63 a driver of a motor vehicle can be arrested for operating while intoxicated if they are operating said vehicle on a frozen waterway which is open to the public, and they are impaired.

This also applies to snowmobiles and all-terrain vehicles.
