Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 1/15/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, January 1st
10:17 AM Officers responded to a call from an employee of an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that a male subject left the store, refusing to stop for store personnel. The male subject left the parking lot in a green Honda Civic. The caller gave officers the license plate number. He was last seen going southbound on Charlotte Street. The male caller also gave officers the male suspect’s name and a description of the items that he had in his jacket pockets. Officers arrested the male subject for retail theft and a probation hold.
1:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a purple Grand Am just struck her vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. Vehicle 2 was eastbound in the parking lot. Vehicle 1 was facing northbound and was backing from the parking spot. The driver of Vehicle 1 stated that she did not see Vehicle 2 behind her vehicle. Vehicle 1 struck Vehicle 2 in the driver’s rear fender area causing damage. Vehicle 1 sustained very light damage to the driver’s side rear corner bumper. There were no injuries.
Tuesday, January 2nd
3:14 PM Officers received a call from a female on 9th Avenue reporting that she lost her wallet and now there was money missing from her account. She told officers that she lost it between 6:00 and 7:00 PM on 1/1/18. When she called her bank to stop her debit card, they told her that there was activity since the night before of about $125.00. The caller told officers that she may have lost her wallet at a business at 10th Avenue and Superior Street. Officers later received a call from the manager of a business on Superior Street telling officers that she found a transaction that occurred with the stolen card and gave officers the name of a possible female suspect. Officers were investigating.
Wednesday, January 3rd
12:55 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that 5-10 minutes earlier, a male subject driving a cream or silver colored pickup struck his vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on 5th Avenue and took off. The caller told officers that the male subject was wearing a bright red coat. The business had the accident on their security camera. Vehicle 2 was legally parked westbound in the lot. Vehicle 1 was parked one space north of Vehicle 2. The driver of Vehicle 1 stated that he backed up, heard a noise and then pulled forward and exited the parking lot to the North. Vehicle 1 struck Vehicle 2 in the passenger side mirror causing damage. Vehicle 1 sustained light damage to the driver’s side rear bumper. There were no injuries.
3:16 PM Officers responded to several calls reporting an accident at 8th Avenue and Superior Street. The female driver of one of the vehicles was cited for failure to yield.
5:28 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that someone broke into his mother’s apartment on Dorr Street. He gave officers the name of a possible male suspect. Officers spoke with the male suspect at a residence on Cherry Street. He was very uncooperative when questioned. Nothing of interest was located. Officers were still investigating.
8:07 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a vehicle in the ditch at North Avenue and Charlotte Street. The caller said that the vehicle nearly struck a telephone pole.
Thursday, January 4th
10:50 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting underage drinking at an area business on 5th Avenue. 3 female subjects were cited for underage drinking. One female subject was cited for serving minors. 2 male subjects were cited having underage persons on the premise.
11:00 PM Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense.
Friday, January 5th
9:49 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy 64 reporting a female shoplifter. The female subject was cited for retail theft.
10:44 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting a possible under-age drinking party on 10th Avenue. One female subject was cited for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. A male subject was cited for juvenile alcohol.
Saturday, January 6th
2:54 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a hit and run in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64 involving the vehicle that the caller’s daughter was driving. Officers found out that the striking vehicle was driven by a female subject from Antigo.
7:41 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Neva Road and Farwell Avenue. A female subject was arrested for possession of meth and a probation hold. A male subject was arrested for possession of meth, possession of meth paraphernalia, operating while intoxicated, 4th offense and a probation hold. He was also cited for a loud exhaust, having no insurance and failure to obey an officer’s signal. The male was also given written warnings for an obstructed driver’s view and improper display of a license plate.
Sunday, January 7th
1:18 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Langlade Road and Elmo Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense. He was also given written warnings for a defective headlight and failure to stop.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, January 3rd
1:10 PM Officers received a call from an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting a gas drive off for $10.02 that occurred at about 10:30 AM that morning by a subject driving a tan mini-van. The business was looking over their security footage to try and get a license plate number for the vehicle.
10:57 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she put her car in the ditch on Bogus Road, about 2-3 miles west of Cty. Rd. B. There were no injuries. The car was towed. A state crash report was completed.
Thursday, January 4th
2:53 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a vehicle ran off the road in front of his house on Koszarek Road. The caller told officers that he did not see any people, but the vehicle was running. Officers found a male subject in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. During a search of the subject, a marijuana pipe was found containing burnt residue. The pipe later tested positive for marijuana. The male subject submitted to a chemical breath test. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, having a prohibited blood alcohol content and on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant. There was no damage to the vehicle. The vehicle was towed.
4:51 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that they found needles and bottles in a room. Officers collected and placed the items in a Sharps container in the evidence room.
Saturday, January 6th
12:18 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the ditch at Parkway Road and Mapleview Road that was smoking. A road sign had been taken down. The vehicle was towed. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated, operating after revocation, operating while intoxicated related and failure to install an ignition interlock device. He was transported to Corrections.
3:56 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting that he was out with a female that was bleeding who he found walking near Cty. Rd. J and Hwy. 45. The female subject was now in his vehicle. The female subject stated that she had been drinking at an area business in Post Lake and someone gave her a ride. That car crashed in the ditch and she got out and started walking south on Hwy. 45. Officers believed that the female had been the only occupant that the vehicle. The vehicle was towed. The female subject was issued several citations.
6:55 PM Officers responded to a report of an SUV in the ditch on Hwy. 45. The female driver was given a written warning and citation for the tire tread. Officers noticed that the left rear tire was showing the cords.
Sunday, January 7th
11:55 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she put her vehicle in the ditch on Cty. Rd. C, west of Hetto Road. The female driver was cited for having no insurance. A male passenger was cited for obstructing and arrested on a probation hold per the Department of Corrections.
7:23 PM Officers responded to an anonymous report of a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy. 64, east of Clover Road. The caller told officers that the vehicle’s lights were on and the vehicle was running. Another caller reported that a female was in the vehicle, not responding but awake. The female driver was written for re-exam. The vehicle was towed. A state report was completed.
