Dorothy R. Slattery, 86
Dorothy R. Slattery, 86, of Gleason, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital Palliative Care, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born in Long Pine Nebraska on July 21, 1931, to the late Alfred and Wanda (Lake) Brown. She married Paulie Slattery on July 12, 1951 and together they raised seven children on their family farm in Gleason, Wisconsin. Paulie preceded her in death on December 13, 2007.
Dorothy enjoyed playing cards, gardening and quilting, but most important to her were her family; whom she loved fiercely and passionately. She was so proud of each of her twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children and their families, Dave (Lisa) Slattery of Gleason and their family, Brenda (Lance) Bricko of Wausau, Carol (Paul) Toney and their children Thora and Elliot of Berren Springs, Michigan and Adam (Melissa) Slattery and their children Archer and Ireland of Gleason; Barb (Gary) Gillett of Aniwa and their children Eric (Kayla) Gillett and their children Isabella and Oren of Antigo; Terri (Dave) Kischel of Wausau and their children Danielle (Craig Parlin) and Mick Kischel all of Wausau; Sandy (Steve) Bushar of Gleason and their children, Beth (Jeremy) Dorgan and their son Lucas of Gleason, Paul (Sara Weix) Bushar and their son Greyson of Gleason and Nicole (Justin Bonnell) Bushar of Gleason; and Jodi (Steve) Ullenbrauck and their children Brandon, Kaci and Jimmy all of Hatley. Dorothy is further survived by her brother Fred (Eva) Brown of Westminster, Co and her sister Grace Akers of Buda, TX.
In addition to Dorothy’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jimmy Dale and Steven Lee and brother, Orthy Brown.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Brainard Funeral Home-Everest Chapel, 5712 Memorial Court, Weston. Visitation was held prior to the services at the funeral home.
