Antigo Penguins finish season at Clara McKenna Aquatic Center

The Antigo Penguins ended their 2017-2018 swim season at the Central Wisconsin Swim Conference meet held in Antigo at the Clara R. McKenna Aquatic Center this past weekend. 34

Antigo Penguins qualified and competed along with 484 swimmers from Central Wisconsin.

The Penguins took 11th place out of 16 teams.

The age 10 and under competed on Saturday, February 3rd. Participating swimmers included Tristin Arlen, Dawson Behm, Max Bolder, Mya Burt, Rutger Busse, Alexis Federman, Brion Koszarek, Evie Lucht, Nolan Lucht, Maggie Neufeld, Zander Reetz, Chloe Tainer, Holland Tainer, Layla Tainter, Nate Wild and Josh Zanayed.

The 11 and older competed on Sunday, February 4th. Participating swimmers included Heather Arlen, Maggie Baginski, Myah Bolder, Olivia Braun, Karl Busse, Lola Evans, Avery Federman, Emily Gravitter, Erika Gravitter, Gordy Lucht, Gretchen Lucht, Meredith Meidl, Molly Nelson, Molly Neufeld, Morgan Rank, Adie Smith, Alyssa Tincher and Makayla Tischendorf. The top 6 in each event received medals.

Mya Burt broke a Conference record in the Girls 9-10 50 SC Meter Breaststroke with a time of

45.39. She broke her own club records in the 50 Freestyle, 100 IM and 100 Backstroke. Tristin Arlen had a state qualifying time in the 50 Freestyle. Mya Burt had state qualifying times in all of her individual events: 50 Freestyle, 100 IM, 50 Breaststroke and 100 Backstroke

Heather Arlen, Tristin Arlen, Mya Burt, Chloe Tainter and Holland Tainter qualified for Midwest Regionals.

100 SC Meter IM 1:26.12- 1st place* Qualified for State and Club Record

50 SC Meter Breaststroke 45.39- 1st place* Qualified for State and Conference Record

100 SC Meter Backstroke 1:25.96- 1st place* Qualified for State and Club Record

100 SC Meter IM 2:12.43- 3rd place

 

Relays

Girls 10 & under 200 SC Meter Medley Relay- Tristin Arlen, Mya Burt, Chloe Tainter and Holland

Tainter 2:50.71- 1st place

Throughout their 2017-2018 season, the Penguin swimmers received great instruction and support from coaches Janelle Bolder, Evelyn Olson, Betsy Neufeld, Tonya Trabant-McKenna, Michelle Arlen, Ryne Levis, Levis, Amy Zanayed, Brett Farmer, Mary Ponasik, Andrew Tainter and Austin Arlen.
