Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 2/12/18

ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, January 29th
9:14 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business reporting the theft of natural gas from a residence on 4th Avenue. They requested that an officer meet them at the residence while they removed the meter. Officers found that the lock that had been on the meter was missing and the gas meter had been turned on for a month. The female occupant of the residence admitted to officers that she had removed the lock.
9:04 PM Officers responded to a call from a female on 10th Avenue reporting that a male subject was at her residence and wouldn’t leave after she had asked him to. Officers found out that there had been a verbal argument between the two of them. The male subject was arrested on a probation hold.
Tuesday, January 30th
1:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she was involved in an accident on Neva Road and the southbound lanes were blocked. Her vehicle was towed. The reporting female was cited for failure to yield the right of way. A traffic education class was offered. A state report was completed.
Wednesday, January 31st
12:40 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct at Antigo High School.
1:44 PM Officers cited a male student for disorderly conduct at Antigo Middle School.
5:03 PM Officers responded to a report of a male subject at a residence on Superior Street that the caller believed was a meth dealer. A male subject and a female subject were arrested for possession of meth.
7:25 PM Officers, following up on a complaint from earlier in the day, received a search warrant for a residence on Superior Street. A male subject and a female subject were charged with possession of meth and transported to Corrections.
Thursday, February 1st
12:01 AM Officers stopped a vehicle on Superior Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated and obstructing.
7:23 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a student backed into her vehicle in the parking lot of Antigo High School. An accident report was completed.
3:50 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident at 4th Avenue and Field Street between a brown Blazer and a tan car. The caller told officers that the drivers then switched vehicles and left the scene. The Blazer was then located at an area business on 5th Avenue. The tan vehicle’s whole front end was crunched. Officers checked the area for that vehicle.
Friday, February 2nd
12:15 PM Officers responded to a report of an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Superior Street. Property damage only.
Saturday, February 3rd
1:14 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a county plow truck had struck his vehicle near an area business on Neva Road. The caller had followed the truck to the county shop. He wanted to file a report.
8:08 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that 2 teenage male subjects were walking westbound in the middle of 5th Avenue from Deleglise Street, blocking traffic. When the caller had tried to pass them the teens made a rude gesture. They were described as wearing black hoodies and jeans. After locating the two subjects, officers engaged in a foot chase with the subjects, northbound on Sunset Avenue. Both male subjects were taken into custody at an address on 5th Avenue. They were arrested for obstructing and transported to Corrections.
Sunday, February 4th
10:53 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that the male subject who had previously come through the drive-thru only wearing a robe was now there. After leaving the business, the male subject left northbound on Hwy. 45 in a blue BMW. Officers stopped the vehicle at Western Road and 5th Avenue. The male subject was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior for a prior incident on December 9th.
10:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was assaulted by a male subject at a residence on 3rd Avenue. The caller told officers that the male subject had tried to pepper spray him and then left the residence on foot, heading westbound on 3rd Avenue. The male subject was described as wearing a black and white sweatshirt.
Monday, February 5th
12:35 AM Officers responded to a 911 from a male on Langlade Road reporting that his wife was overdosing on heroin and was turning blue. The female was taken to Langlade Hospital for medical clearance and then transported to Corrections for possession of heroin, possession of psilocybin mushrooms and possession of drug paraphernalia.
1:23 AM Officers responded to a 911 call from a male reporting a structure fire at his home on Virginia Street with flames in the walls. The Antigo Fire Department responded.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, January 31st
8:41 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she witnessed an accident at Hwy. 45 and Mapleview Road. Property damage only. A state report was completed.
2:00 PM Officers were in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. They arrested a male subject on two Kenosha County warrants. He was also cited for operating while suspended. Another male subject was arrested on an Oconto County warrant. A female subject was also arrested on a Shawano County warrant.
3:42 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that another male subject ran his vehicle into his deer fence on Old 26 Road. The male driver was slurring his words. A standardized field sobriety test was completed. The male subject was not intoxicated. He was cited for deviation from the lane of travel and given a ride home.
6:23 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a vehicle in the ditch at Flight Road and Parkway Road. There was no one around. While officers were there, a vehicle pulled up with driver of the abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was towed out of the ditch. There was no damage to the vehicle.
Thursday, February 1st
3:04 PM Officers responded to a report of a semi partially in the ditch, blocking both lanes of traffic on Hwy. 64 near 5th Avenue Road. The semi-truck was towed.
Friday, February 2nd
9:11 AM Officers responded to a report of cash missing from White Lake School. On Tuesday, 1/30/18, approximately $70 in cash was stolen from a classroom. The principal received information that a male student had taken the money. When interviewed by officers, the male student confessed to taking the money. The money was located and returned to the school. The male subject was cited for theft.
11:51 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle that slid into the ditch on Cty. Rd. K. The male driver was out of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed out of the ditch. A state report was completed.
12:41 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a 55 year old male had a possible broken leg from a snowmobile accident just north of Pickerel Creek Road. The male subject from Chicago told officers that he had been traveling at approximately 20 MPH and missed a corner. He was transported to Langlade Hospital by the Antigo Fire Department.
1:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that a brown Oldsmobile was parked on Cty. Rd. A, about one mile north of Cty. Rd. O, with a male driver slumped over the wheel. When the caller went to check on the male subject, she noticed vomit all over inside the car. An ambulance was paged. The male driver was not very responsive and did not have much control over himself. Officers spoke with a family member who explained that the male was going through numerous medical issues. This appeared to officers to be a medical issue. The male subject was not intoxicated and there was no evidence of illegal drug use or open intoxicants. The vehicle was towed.
3:51 PM A male came to the Safety Building to report that someone stole some checks from him and then wrote them out, for a total of $820. The male gave officers the name of a male suspect. Officers made multiple attempts to locate the male subject, but were unable to. Charges were sent to the District Attorney for review.
8:33 PM Officers responded to a call from a male subject reporting that he crashed a car in the ditch, when pulling on the emergency brake, at North Avenue and Pioneer Road. The caller told officers that the accident occurred while he was testing out a friend’s new car. He admitted to driving at least 50 MPH and pulling on the emergency brake to see if the car would slow down. The tires locked up and the vehicle swerved to the left, taking out a mailbox and two trees. The male subject was cited for speeding and reckless driving. A state crash report was completed.
Saturday, February 3rd
6:28 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female reporting that she saw a vehicle that flipped over near Hwy. 55 and Cty. Rd. K. Two people were in the vehicle and were unable to get out. The vehicle was towed.
Sunday, February 4th
2:11 AM Officers were out with a vehicle in the ditch on Buettner Lane. There was no one around. The vehicle was towed and held. 7:50 AM A male subject called about the vehicle. He admitted to officers that he was the driver at the time of the accident. He was advised that he should have notified law enforcement at the time of the accident. The male subject was cited for failure to maintain control.
3:53 AM Officers responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch at Cty. Rd. K and Cty. Rd. Z. There was no one in the car and no obvious signs of injury. It appeared to officers that the driver had tried to get out of the ditch, but was unsuccessful. The vehicle was towed and held. Officers left a message with the registered owner. Officers later spoke with the female owner. She stated that she had been driving south on Cty. Rd. Z and slid through the intersection at approximately 30 MPH and went into the ditch. She had no injuries and was picked up down the road. The female subject was cited for failure to maintain control. The vehicle was released.
10:04 AM Officers responded to multiple reports of a vehicle rollover accident on Hwy. 45, approximately two miles south of Hwy. 47. The vehicle was towed.
10:18 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she went into the ditch at Hwy. 47 and Cty. Rd. S to avoid a collision with another vehicle. She told officers that there were no injuries and both vehicles were off of the road. The vehicle was pulled out of the ditch. The female driver of the other vehicle had failed to yield the right of way. A state report was completed.
8:44 PM Officers responded to a 911 call from a female reporting that she came upon a crash on Hwy. 55, between E. Hollister Road and Sawyer Lake Road. The male driver of the vehicle told officers that he was driving northbound on Hwy. 55 and when he hit some ice/snow on the road, he slid into the ditch and rolled his vehicle. EMS was requested as the male subject had rib and stomach pain. He was cited for having no insurance. The vehicle was towed. A state crash report was completed.
Monday, January 5th
1:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a passerby reporting a vehicle in the ditch at Hwy. 64 and Gruenberg Road. The vehicle was described as a brown Tahoe or Suburban. The male driver from Greenfield was arrested for operating while intoxicated, 3rd offense. The vehicle was towed.
Wednesday, February 7th
7:58 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he just lost the load of logs off of his truck on Cty. Rd. G. The leaf spring broke on the trailer portion of the pulp truck. The trailer then went into the ditch, losing the logs onto the road and ditch. The driver was able to get the trailer out of the ditch. The logs were loaded back onto the truck. A mailbox was damaged in the accident.
10:34 AM Officers received a call from an employee of an area business on Hwy. 45 reporting that on 1/30/18 between 4:15 and 4:30 PM, someone made three separate charges at the business for a total of over $300. These charges were refused by the credit card company and reported as fraudulent. The business would be looking over surveillance footage to get video of the suspect.
