Chargers defeat Robins at home
It was a big game Tuesday night for Wittenberg-Birnamwood’s boys on the basketball court. Coach Lon Ebel said whenever they face Antigo, they know that they are going to play a team that plays hard and is well coached. “I’m grateful that we were able to get our Senior Night game in for these guys and I thank them for coming down even though it wasn’t a typical day for the kids. I’m really proud of the seniors tonight for the way they played and composed themselves. This group has meant a lot to me,” said Ebel.
“We did a very nice job of executing against their zone and we really took care of the ball early in the game and worked for great shots. Defensively I thought we did a really nice job overall and played hard without fouling. I saw guys putting their bodies on the line tonight for the team. Antigo sure didn’t let it go easily and it was a battle until the end, but Kody Szews and Ethan Wesolowski came thought with some clutch FT’s in the last seconds.”
The night’s final score was 55-50.
