L.A. Arts Snow Ball to be held Saturday, February 17th at Timber Haven

For the Antigo Times
The Langlade Area Arts (L.A. Arts) invites the public to attend their annual “Snow Ball”. Come experience an evening immersed in a shimmering winter wonderland held on Saturday, February 17th at Timber Haven in Polar, WI beginning at 7:00PM, featuring one of the most popular, hottest, and sought after bands in Wisconsin “Hip Pocket”.
Timber Haven will be transformed by Jeremy C. Doucette, RWS Entertainment Group’s Senior Director of Design and International Designer, based in New York City. Jeremy, a native of Antigo, has designed award winning sets, lighting and costumes for over 1,000 productions worldwide, including plays, musicals, dance concerts, art installations, themed environments, and awards shows. Jeremy plans to bring a treasure trove of scenic and décor materials that he has collected over the years and from the many corners of the earth in his professional travels to Antigo. Those attending will be mesmerized and delighted to experience the magic of theatrical design that will draw them into a magical winter wonderland as the banquet hall at Timber Haven will be transformed into an exceptionally classy and glamorous ballroom and entertainment center.
L.A. Arts chose an equally high quality dance band, “Hip Pocket” to provide the music for the evening. A powerful eleven-member, high energy band with a four-piece-a-blazing horn section and a rocking rhythm section led by local percussionist, Mike Fittante along with exceptional lead vocals by his brother Joe Fittante on the keyboard and the female leads of Heather Brooks, Shelby Cheyka and Christine Ellis, blend they’re voices with close tight harmonies. Hip Pocket rocks your favorite top 40, R&B, Latin-infusion, jazz, pop, modern, and classic rock hits. This sensational band will be sure to have everyone out on the dance floor.
During the evening, guests will be treated to a variety of sweet desserts, such as decadent, gourmet cupcakes and savory hors d’ourvres, along with a cash bar featuring signature cocktails. There will be a Silent Auction, with delightfully themed gift baskets from around the country and various art works provided by AVA (Antigo Visual Arts) along with other surprises throughout the evening of great music and dance.
L.A. Arts is a non-profit organization formed in 2009 to develop an Arts Center for Antigo and Langlade County artists. The vision is to create a Cultural Center for the Langlade community to enjoy and celebrate the “Lively” Arts. This Arts Center would unite the various local and established organizations of visual artists, musicians, theater, and dance by providing a performance area along with a Gallery to offer the myriad of art works along with also providing classroom space for workshops to allow the continued growth of the Arts in our community.
Whether you are a couple looking for a glamorous evening, or a single person looking for that someone special; L.A. Arts will provide you with a most unusual and memorable evening. Advance tickets are $40.00 and are available at the Antigo Daily Journal, Neve’s Floors to Go Furniture & Mattress Gallery, Lakeside Market, Timber Haven and will also be available at the door.
