Betty Jane Piper, 89

Betty Jane Piper, of Antigo, died Tuesday, March 20, 2018, at her home under the care of her loving family and LeRoyer Hospice. She was 89 years old. She was born on October 10, 1928, in Antigo, a daughter of the late Arnold Robrecht and Erna (Gruenberg) Woods. She married Marvin A. Piper on February 25, 1947, at Unity Evangelical & Reformed Church in Antigo. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2009.

She was a graduate of Antigo High School class of 1946. A strong work ethic was important to Betty as she worked out of the home from a young age all through retirement.

She was a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Antigo.

Betty enjoyed gardening, yard work, canning, baking, cooking, knitting, crocheting, crafting, sewing and polka music. She enjoyed casino trips with her sisters, she loved to bake cookies for the kids at church, putting together puzzles and trout fishing with her husband. Most importantly she loved having her children and grandchildren visit.

Survivors include a daughter, Judith Piper (Gary Harris) of Crandon; two daughters-in-law, Beverly Piper of Antigo and Marilyn Piper of Polar; half brother, Thomas (Shirley) Woods of Antigo; half sister, Julie (Henry) Horn of Antigo; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John “Pete” Suick of Antigo; sister-in-law, Sandy Robrecht of Antigo and many nieces and nephews

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by two sons, Jerome and Thomas Piper; sisters, Audrey (James) Harmon, Carol Yarie, Ruth Suick; a brother, James Robrecht; step father, Jack Woods; and a half brother, John Woods.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Wes Jedras officiating. Burial will take place in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 to 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
