Quality Tree Seedlings available for pre-sale through Trees For Tomorrow

EAGLE RIVER, WI – A tradition since 1945, Trees For Tomorrow (TFT) is announcing the arrival of four types of tree seedlings available now for pre-purchase. TFT originally offered two seedlings for every tree cut in support of the war effort. The purpose was to encourage land owners to plant trees and practice sound forest management principles. This tradition continues today.

Seedlings may be purchased now on pre-sale, and will be available for pick-up or shipping in mid-May. The 2-year-old seedlings include red (Norway) pine, northern white cedar, white spruce hybrid, and white pine.  These tree species are chosen because they are heartier and do well in the sandy soils of the Northwoods. Cost is $1.50 per seedling.  Proceeds support educational programs at Trees For Tomorrow.

“Purchasing seedlings from Trees For Tomorrow is a tradition for many,” said Juli Welnetz, coordinator of the sale for Trees For Tomorrow. “People purchase our seedlings for a variety of reasons. One organization has been using them for years as part of their re-growth ceremony for recovering addicts.”

The seedlings will be available for pick-up or shipping (for an additional fee) in mid-May and will continue until inventory runs out, typically at the end of summer or early fall. All seedlings are containerized and have established root systems.

For more information or to place an order, call 715-479-6456, ext. 226, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, or go to TreesForTomorrow.com. Click on “Seedlings” for online ordering or for a downloadable ordering form. Please place all orders in advance. You will be notified when seedlings are available for pick-up in person at Trees For Tomorrow, 519 Sheridan St. East, Eagle River.

Trees For Tomorrow is an accredited nonprofit natural resources specialty school that serves school groups throughout Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.  TFT’s mission is to promote sustainable management of our natural resources through transformative educational experiences.
