Warrant of the Week:

The Antigo Police Department holds an arrest warrant for Jordan L. Campbell 06-01-87. The warrant is for failing to pay a fine on a charge of retail theft. Those with information on his whereabouts are urged to call the Antigo Police Department at (715) 627-6411, submit a tip at www.p3tips.com or on the P3 app on your device. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.

NHTSA Grant:

Since 2017 the Antigo Police Department has had extra officers on patrol mainly in the evening and early morning hours enforcing alcohol related offenses. The extra efforts and patrol cost is covered by a federally funded grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Bureau of Traffic Safety awarded to the Antigo Police Department for the years 2017 and 2018. We have removed several impaired drivers during this time and we have searched out several other violations while on patrol. Here is an example from just this weekend from Friday night through Sunday night April 6th-8th.

The Police Department made 21 criminal arrests, most of them being methamphetamine and marijuana possession charges. There were 12 driving citations issued including speed, driving without licenses, no insurance, and operating while intoxicated. Four people were arrested on warrants when they were stopped for another violation. Four City of Antigo ordinance citations were issued, two of which were for possession of marijuana. One stolen vehicle out of southeastern Wisconsin was recovered during a traffic stop for a speeding violation and will be returned to its rightful owner. Finally, 15 written warnings were issued to drivers for minor traffic infractions.

This should serve as another reminder, if you are going to drink and drive, or drive impaired while on any other drug or prescription medication, find a ride or walk. We have extra officers on the streets enforcing these types of things.
