Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 5/28/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, May 14th
5:35 PM Officers arrested a female subject at the Safety Building on a Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrant for failure to pay a fine for theft of library materials.
6:05 PM A female came to the Safety Building to report the theft of her lawn mower from her residence on Lincoln Street. The female stated that she had last seen the mower around 2:30 PM that day. She had stopped mowing to answer a phone call. She returned 15 minutes later and the mower was missing. The item was described as a little red push mower, unknown model, worth approximately $250.
Tuesday, May 15th
11:44 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that they had video of female subject, who had shoplifted in the past, shoplifting twice. Officers were given a disc and photos. The female subject did not pay for two items the first time ($5.68 worth) and three items the second time ($15.22) worth. The female subject was cited for retail theft.
12:23 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at 1st Avenue and Clermont Street. The driver of Vehicle 2 was pulling a lawn trailer south on Clermont Street. The driver of Vehicle 1 stated that he had stopped at a stop sign going westbound on 1st Avenue and then proceeded into cross traffic and was struck by Vehicle 2. The driver of Vehicle 2 and a witness both told officers that the driver of Vehicle 1 did not stop at the stop sign. Officers noticed that the stop sign had been blocked from visibility for westbound traffic and the area was very congested. Property damage only.
Wednesday, May 16th
5:22 PM Officers arrested a female subject at a residence on Clermont Street on a Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrant, a Marathon County Sheriff’s office warrant and a Lincoln County Sheriff’s office warrant.
9:52 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a possible intoxicated driver going south on Hwy. 45. Officers stopped the vehicle at Superior Street and 4th Avenue. Officers determined that the driver was not intoxicated.
Thursday, May 17th
12:08 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting an accident with a semi-trailer on its side at N. Saratoga Street and Century Avenue. The caller stated that there was one person in the truck and they were unable to get out. A gun was found in the vehicle. It was placed into evidence for safekeeping. The semi-tractor and trailer were towed. Officers received a call from the Highway Department stating that they found two more loaded pistol magazines at the scene of the accident and they would bring them in. Later that day, a male subject came to the Safety Building to report that he went through the accident area around 6:00 AM and a tire on his vehicle was damaged and had to be replaced. The male subject told officers that he would be contacting the insurance company of the semi company for reimbursement.
7:39 AM An officer reported being involved in an accident at 2nd Avenue and Superior Street. Vehicle 1 was stopped at the stop sign on 2nd Avenue. Vehicle 2 was stopped behind Vehicle 1. Vehicle 1 moved ahead a little and Vehicle 2 also moved ahead, running into the back of Vehicle 1. The female driver of Vehicle 2 told officers that the sun was blocking her eyes.
9:04 AM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Neva Road reporting that a customer had gone out to his car and found that someone had sideswiped it. Vehicle 2 was legally parked in the parking lot facing northbound. An unknown Vehicle 1 was parked next to it and sometime after 7:00 PM, Vehicle 1 moved from the parking spot and struck Vehicle 2 in the passenger side rear door area causing damage. Vehicle 1 then left the scene. Officers reviewed surveillance footage, but were unable to locate anything.
7:11 PM Officers were at an area business on 5th Avenue. A male subject was arrested for possession of meth and a Marathon County warrant. He was transported to Corrections.
Friday, May 18th
11:44 AM Officers responded to a call from a female on Center Street, calling for second time that day, to report her neighbors being loud. The second time that officers arrived, there appeared to be a small party going on. A female resident attempted to hide two Hispanic male subjects and was arrested for obstructing. A second female subject was arrested for two Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrants.
4:26 PM Officers stopped a vehicle at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. G. The male driver from Green Bay was arrested for possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, operating after revocation – operating while intoxicated related, misdemeanor bail jumping, a probation hold and a Brown County warrant. A female subject from Green Bay was also arrested on three Brown County warrants, two counts of misdemeanor bail jumping and obstructing/resisting an officer.
6:02 PM Officers received a call from a female reporting that a red truck hauling a trailer with equipment ran through a flashing yellow light for children crossing at 7th Avenue and Superior Street, almost hitting some children. The vehicle was last seen going north on Hwy. 45. Officers were advised.
8:21 PM Officers were at an area business on Hwy. 64, following up on some shoplifters. Officers referred three female subjects for felony retail theft.
Saturday, May 19th
2:22 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 9th Avenue. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for failure to stop at a stop sign and having no insurance.
11:55 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that someone backed into her vehicle at an area business on Superior Street.
8:44 PM Officers were at a residence on Milton Street. A female subject was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s office warrant.
10:51 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting an intoxicated driver on Hwy. 64. The driver was swerving, weaving & didn’t stop at a stop sign at Hwy. 64 and Cty. Rd. H. Officers stopped the vehicle at 5th Avenue and Pine Street. The male driver was arrested for operating while intoxicated. He was also cited for operating while suspended and for having open intoxicants in a moving vehicle.
Sunday, May 20th
8:29 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that the night before, an establishment on Deleglise Street was broken into and some items were taken. Two juvenile male subjects were identified as the perpetrators. One of the juveniles admitted to officers that on the afternoon of 5/19/18, the two males broke a window and entered the building. Once inside, they entered a lockbox and removed some candy, rifled through some mailboxes and opened some mail in search of money, used a computer and took a few boxes of matches and used them to light some grass on fire outside.
Monday, May 21st
4:26 AM A subject came to the Safety Building to report that a male subject was lying on the roadway on Superior Street. Officers located the male subject near Superior Street and Graham Avenue. The subject was clearly under the influence of something. He was transported to Corrections on a probation hold.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, May 16th
9:13 AM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident at Hwy. 45 and Cty. Rd. J. The male driver of one of the vehicles was cited for being left of center.
8:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a tree down on Sugarbush Road, near Now Road. The caller told officers that it was blocking the north lane of traffic. Officers removed most of the tree. The Highway Department was notified to remove the rest.
Friday, May 18th
2:05 AM Officers observed a vehicle traveling north on Cty. Rd. H, which then pulled over at a driveway. Officers then noticed that the vehicle did not pull into the driveway. When the officers turned around, the vehicle lights were shut off and when officers got to the vehicle, it was unoccupied. Officers found a female subject walking by the house. She told officers that she had walked there from another residence and was going to ask to use the bathroom. She told officers that a male and a female subject had pulled up in the van and then took off when officers turned around. She thought that they were hiding in the bushes. Officers and the homeowner checked the area, but were unable to locate anyone. The vehicle was towed. The female subject was cited for obstructing, operating without a license and operating without insurance. She was picked up by another subject.
10:43 AM Officers stopped a vehicle at Edison Street and 7th Avenue. A male subject and a female subject were arrested on drug charges.
1:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that a female subject pulled out in front of him on Hwy. 55 and he hit the ditch to avoid her. He told officers that he did get his vehicle out onto the shoulder and that the female subject was in the parking lot of an establishment on Hwy. 55. Officers spoke with both parties. The female driver of the other vehicle admitted to not paying attention and looking at something else. She was cited for inattentive driving. A crash report was completed.
5:49 PM Officers were out with a vehicle at a park on Mueller Lake Road. A male subject was referred for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Saturday, May 19th
1:01 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident in front of Crestwood School on Cty. Rd. AA. There were no injuries. Property damage only. The male driver of the other vehicle was cited for inattentive driving.
