Glenn James Bushy, of Antigo, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at Iola Assisted Living under the care of Heartland Hospice. He was 79 years old. He was born on March 26, 1939, in Crookston, Minnesota, a son of the late James and Alma (Schroeder) Bushy. He married Theresa “Terri” Polak on August 26, 1958, in Milwaukee. She preceded him in death on January 10, 2010.

He served in the United States Army from August 22, 1956 to August 21, 1958 having served in Korea.

Mr. Bushy moved to Antigo in 1968. He owned Northern Pine Tavern until 1972. He was employed at Weinbrenner Shoe Company factory from 1972 until his retirement in 1977.

He enjoyed working on cars, hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren. He will be missed by his dog, Mikey.

Survivors include three daughters, Laura (Dan) Breckheimer of Appleton, Linda (Phil) Arrowood of Antigo and Janet (Perry Michiel) Clark of Antigo; two sons, James (Donna) Bushy of Shawano and Mike (Julie) Bushy of Antigo; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jean (Floyd) Stave of Crookston, Minn. and Judy (Jay) Cook of Seattle, Wash.; two brothers, Dennis (Gladys) Bushy of Spokan, Wash. and David (Cookie) Sinkavitch of East Grand Forks, Minn.

In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by a son, Robert Bushy; a daughter, Brenda Wensel; and a brother, Marvin Bushy.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 5:30 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Bradley Funeral Home. Antigo Veterans will conduct military honors following the service at the funeral home.
