LaVerle Kathleen “Kay” Rusch, of Antigo, died Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Evergreen Terrace under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. She was 94 years old. She was born on June 1, 1923, in Deerbrook, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Jacobus) Rusch.

She graduated from Antigo High School. Kay served in the United States Marine Corps from April 15, 1944 to June 1, 1946 having been stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.

She lived in Alaska, California and Arizona, returning to Antigo in 2017. She was a realtor for many years in California and loved to travel.

Survivors include three nieces, Karen (Kevin) Tatro, Kathy (Tom) Wagner and Carol Kluth; a nephew, Bernard Sullivan; a great-niece, Stacey (Fred) Hofmann; great-nephews, Tom (Carrie) Taggart and Bill Taggart; and a great-great-nephew, Trevin Hofmann. She is further survived by great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Chavez and Bernadine Incha; and two brothers-in-law, George Sullivan and Peter Incha.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at 1 p.m. at St. Wencel Catholic Cemetery with Rev. Zachary Weber officiating. Military honors will take place following the service.

A special thank you to Gary and Sarah Voytovich and the staff of Evergreen Terrace for the wonderful care they provided to Kay, and to Diane and Beth for organizing and accompanying Kay on the Honor Flight.
