Eugene G. Seis, 91
Eugene G Seis, longtime Antigo resident died Friday, June 8, 2018, at Homme Home in Wittenberg. He was 91 years old. He was born on December 7, 1926, in Antigo, a son of George and Anna (Zelazoski) Seis. He married Doris Roubal on July 5, 1947, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Antigo. She preceded him in death on June 15, 2012.
Mr. Seis served in the United States Marine Corps from March 24, 1944 to May 10, 1946, having been stationed in the Pacific Theatre. He recently had the privilege of going to Washington D.C. on the Never Forgotten Honor Flight.
Following military service he was employed for the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad as an engineer, retiring in 1986.
Gene was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and bowler. He supported his children who played football, basketball and baseball. He watched the Green Bay Packers faithfully and enjoyed all sports. He loved time at the lake and the family hunting cabin.
He was a member of the United Transportation Union, Antigo Rails, the Timberwolves Detachment Marine Corps League in Antigo, SS Mary and Hyacinth Catholic Church, and the Msgr. Conrad Saile Knights of Columbus Council 1002 where he called bingo for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Shar Stewart, Antigo, Donna (Nathan) Walter, Aniwa; three sons, Lee Seis, Mosinee, Jeff (Marsha) Seis, Deerbrook, Dean (Stacey) Seis, Brookfield, Connecticut; ten grandchildren, Jeff (Deb) Seis, Kim (Mike) Benes, Scott (Pam) Stewart, Trent Walter, Neil (Holly) Anderson; Don and Mat Seis, Kyle, Demeri and Nick Seis; 13 great-grandchildren; family friend, Peter Harm.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Todd Seis and Don in infancy; four brothers, George (Charlotte) Seis, Donald (Esther) Seis, Tom (Jo) Seis, Justin “Gus” Seis; a daughter-in-law, Dee Seis, and daughter Shar’s fiancée , Jerry Anderson.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday June 13, 2018, at 6 p.m. at Bradley Funeral Home with Rev. Charles Hoffmann officiating.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 3 p.m. until the time of services at the funeral home.
The Knights of Columbus will recite the rosary on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
Antigo veterans will conduct military honors following services.
