Antigo Police & Langlade County Sheriff Reports for 7/2/18
ANTIGO POLICE REPORTS
Monday, June 18th
1:18 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a two vehicle accident in the city parking lot behind the Post Office. Vehicle 1 was pulling into a parking spot and the female driver told officers that she thought that she had enough room, but she hit the back side of Vehicle 2 that was legally parked. There were no injuries. Property damage only.
Tuesday, June 19th
7:35 PM Officers responded to an anonymous call reporting drug activity that had just occurred at the elementary school on 7th Avenue. The caller told officers that they believed that a subject in a vehicle gave another subject on a pedal bike some money for drugs. The vehicle was described as a silver passenger car, possible a Mercury. It was last seen heading north on Elm Street. The subject on the bike was described as a white teenager wearing a black hat, a white shirt and shorts that was near the basketball hoops at the school. Officers were unable to locate the subjects.
8:52 PM Officers received a call from a male subject from St. Germain reporting a stolen wallet. He told officers that he met a woman online and then he went to meet her at an area business on Hwy. 64. The female subject then drove them to a park in Antigo off of Hwy. 64 and they went for a walk in the woods. She then dropped him back off at the business and he left. He realized that his wallet was missing, when he stopped at another area business on Hwy. 64, and he didn’t have his wallet. He told officers that he thought that the female had stolen it. The female subject was driving a two door red car that he believed was a Ford Focus. The caller did not know the female subject’s name or have any contact information for her. The female was described as being a 5’2” blond, around 120 lbs., wearing a pink shirt and black shorts. Officers asked the male caller if he had taken his wallet out while he was with her, he said no. The male did tell officers that the female subject told him through a text that it would be nice if he gave her $600. Officers were investigating.
11:50 PM Officers were out with a male subject at an area business on Neva Road. The male subject was arrested on a Langlade County Sheriff’s Office warrant.
Wednesday, June 20th
6:12 PM Officers received a report of a fight that occurred at 1st Avenue and Clermont Street between two female subjects, 17 and 18 years old. Dispatch then received a call from a female requesting that officers to come to 2nd Avenue and Hwy. 45 because the two female subjects were now harassing her son. Officers referred the two female subjects for disorderly conduct.
6:20 PM Officers responded to a call from Langlade Hospital reporting that a 12 year subject was in the emergency room after being bit in the face and lip by a dog on Clermont Street.
7:37 PM Officers responded to a report of an attempted retail theft at an area business on Jerome Street. Officers met with a male employee of the business who showed officers video of a Native American female subject who had gone out the store without paying for items. The female subject was stopped, and the items were returned. The female subject then left on foot going west. Officers were investigating.
Thursday, June 21st
11:51 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that he was just involved in an accident in the parking lot of an area business on Neva Road. There was only minor damage.
Friday, June 22nd
10:31 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting a one vehicle accident at an area business on Hwy. 64. Property damage only. The vehicle was towed. An accident report was completed.
2:24 PM Officers responded to a report of a two vehicle accident in the parking lot of an area business on Hwy. 64. One vehicle left prior to the officer’s arrival. Property damage only. Officers were able to contact the registered owner of the vehicle that left. The male subject told officers that his wife had been the driver of the vehicle and she had not realized that there had been any damage.
5:13 PM Officers responded to a call from a female requesting officers to come to a residence on Fulton Street as she and another female subject were sitting in her car and a male subject was punching the windows trying to break in and he was threatening the other female subject. The caller told officers that the male subject also had some of the female subject’s property in the house, which he was refusing to give to her. Officers referred the male subject for disorderly conduct.
11:36 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting that a male subject inside an area business on 5th Avenue had knocked over a female subject. The male subject was described as white, with a goatee, wearing red shoes. He had no weapons. The caller said that the male subject was now outside the business. Officers arrested the male subject for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. He was transported to Corrections.
Saturday, June 23rd
12:17 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that she hit a parked van at Clermont Street and North Avenue. An accident report was completed.
6:27 PM Officers responded to a call from an area business on Hwy. 64 reporting that they had a female shoplifter running from the store. Officers pursued the subject’s vehicle, northbound on Hwy. 45. The female subject reached speeds estimated at 99 MPH. Once officers obtained a license plate number, the chase was suspended for public safety. Officers arrested the female subject at a residence on Alcedo Street in Summit Lake on an Oneida County Sheriff’s Office warrant for failure to pay a fine for retail theft. She was also referred for fleeing, reckless driving and retail theft. She was also cited for speed.
11:59 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Clermont Street reporting that someone had been looking in his kitchen window about 10 minutes earlier. He told officers that he was not at home, but his girlfriend was and she saw a male subject, wearing a black or gray hoodie, standing on the deck looking in. A twelve year old female told officers that she had been in the kitchen and saw a male with a dark hoodie on the back porch looking through the window. She then grabbed her phone and ran into her bedroom. Officers cleared the house, the outbuildings and a neighboring residence. No one was located. An extra patrol was requested.
Sunday, June 24th
1:50 PM Officers received a call from a female on Clermont Street reporting that this past Friday morning, around 12:30 AM, someone was in her yard. Her dog was going crazy, so she turned on the lights and called her son. After speaking with some neighbors, she found out that they have had some issues lately too. She requested an extra patrol.
LANGLADE COUNTY SHERIFF REPORTS
Wednesday, June 20th
3:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a male on Enterprise Lake Road reporting that his pontoon boat was missing. He and his wife noticed it missing on Tuesday morning, 6/19/18. The caller told officers that it was well up on the lift, when they last saw it. The pontoon was described as a 1995 19 ft. Spectrum, blue and white on the outside, with a 40HP Mercury motor. Officers checked the lake, but did not locate the boat. Officers entered the information into the National Crime Information Center.
Thursday, June 21st
9:58 AM Officers responded to a call from a couple on Hwy. 64 reporting that they fell victim to a scam. The male subject told officers that the day before at 2:00 PM, they received a call from a man named David Bell, who said that he was a court appointed lawyer in Atlanta, Georgia. He gave them a case number and said that their grandson was in an accident and was in jail in Atlanta for operating while intoxicated and he could be held for up to 30 days. The female subject talked to someone that sounded like her grandson. The lawyer told them to post bond by wiring $2,200 to a business in Georgia. The couple wired the money. That day, the couple got another call to send $30,000 by FedEx. They told officers that they almost did it, but realized it was a scam. The male called his grandson and realized he was never in jail. The couple was out $2,216.00.
3:43 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a one vehicle accident in front of a residence on Crestwood Road. The caller told officers that the male driver was bleeding and the vehicle was smoking. The vehicle was towed. The male driver was cited for having no insurance and inattentive driving.
Friday, June 22nd
2:59 AM Officers responded to a 911 from an area business on S. Superior Street reporting that a female subject that had come to the door that was bleeding. The female subject had a leg laceration caused by a window in a patron’s room. It appeared that the female had either kicked in the window or fell into the window from the outside. The female subject told officers that she had no idea how she had gotten there or how she was injured. She was transported to Langlade Hospital by the Antigo Fire Department and then medivaced to Wausau Aspirus Hospital.
4:24 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting that someone stole a check and carbon out of her mother’s checkbook at her residence on Hwy. 47. They noticed the check was missing at about 1:00 PM that day, when they went to write out a check. The caller gave officers the name of a possible female suspect. The caller’s mother had seen this female subject coming out of her bedroom. Officers found out that the check was cashed for the amount of $200. Video footage was available from the business where the check was cashed. Officers were investigating.
Saturday, June 23rd
2:25 AM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting an accident on Sugarbush Road by Hoyt Road. The caller told officers that a white Trailblazer was in the ditch and a newer Chevy Silverado was trying to pull it out. The caller saw three people by the vehicles. When officers arrived, no one was around. There appeared to be no signs of injury in the vehicle. There was damage to the passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed and held. Officers made several attempts to contact the registered owner. 6/24/18 Officers talked with the female driver of the vehicle. She told officers that she had come over a hill and there were about four deer in the road. She turned too sharply and ran into the ditch. They tried to pull the vehicle out with another vehicle, but they were unable to, so she had walked home.
1:34 PM Officers responded to a call from a male from Dodgeville reporting that he owned a cabin on Elton South Road and he just found that someone had broken in and had been living there. He told officers that the last time he had been to the cabin was in early Spring. It appeared that someone had been using the cabin for a period of time. Entry had been gained through a window adjacent to the front door. Entry had also been gained to a shed. A pair of shorts, a shirt and a bracelet were collected and placed into evidence. Photos were taken. The owner was not sure if anything was missing. There were no suspects at that time.
10:38 PM Officers responded to a call from a female reporting a vehicle in the ditch in front of her residence on Cty. Rd. B in Summit Lake. The caller told officers that there was a male subject inside who had a bloody nose and appeared to be out of it. The male subject had told the caller that he had been drinking. Two mailboxes had been knocked down by the driver. The male driver was taken to Langlade Hospital. He was not taken to Corrections because of his head injury. He was cited for operating while intoxicated, 1st offense.
11:44 PM Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a fight at an area business on Hwy. 55. Officers received a second call about the fight between two female subjects. Emergency medical assistance was not needed. There were no injuries, just property damage. One of the female subjects was arrested for disorderly conduct.
Sunday, June 24th
11:56 AM Officers responded to a call from a male reporting that another vehicle had just struck the trailer that he was hauling on Cty. Rd. K, about 1.5 miles from Hwy. 45. There were no injuries. A state report was completed.
2:28 PM Officers responded to a report of a garage fire in a garage attached to a house on Cty. Rd. D. The fire was put out with a fire extinguisher. Fireworks had been on top of a can, prior to starting on fire. The female resident told officers that she had been mowing her lawn when she noticed the garage smoking. Smoke was coming from an area where she kept a plastic bin full of cans. She told officers that she had placed fireworks on the top of the bin, and when the fire started, she could hear the fireworks going off.
