Snowshoe Baseball Through August 27th (Every Mon.) 7:30pm Held at Snowshoe Park, Highway 47 & Choate Blvd., Lake Tomahawk. Snowshoe baseball is a game of softball played on snowshoes, using a 16 inch ball with no gloves. Concession stand opens at 5:30pm. Strong Bones is an ongoing strength training program designed to help adults become or stay fit, strong & healthy. Individuals will improve muscle strength, bone density, self-confidence, sleep and vitality. Also, participants have shown a decreased risk of diabetes, heart disease, arthritis, depression & obesity. Classes are offered for an hour, twice a week. 4th of July in Minocqua July 4th 3:45pm Downtown, Minocqua. Celebrate Independence Day by joining the fun in downtown Minocqua. The kiddie parade starts at 3:45pm & pre-registration is not required. Children should gather on the sidewalk near Redman Realty (corner of Park Street West & Hwy. 51 South) by 3:15pm. All bikes, trikes, wagons & strollers may be decorated in red, white & blue. No motorized vehicles are allowed in the kiddie parade. After the parade, bring a blanket or lawn chair & head to Torpy Park for a free musical performance at 5:30pm. The Min-Aqua Bats will perform a special show for the July 4th crowd beginning at 7pm at the Aqua Bowl on Lake Minocqua. The group has provided free, thrilling water ski shows for over 50 years each summer. White Lake 4th of July Celebration with Fireworks July 7th 7am White Lake. Come and experience a day full of fun and festivities. The day starts off with breakfast/open house at the White Lake Fire Department starting at 7am. Then there is the Possum Run with the 1 mile run at 7:30am and the 5K and 10K at 8:15am. The parade starts at noon from the corner of Bissell Street and Church Street with the White Lake American Legion & VFW Color Guard, White Lake High School Band, Spud Mobile and Pink Heals Memorial fire truck. Parade will happen rain or shine. There will be live music by Lovin’ Country at 1pm and Conscious Pilot at 5pm. At 8:30pm there will be a boat parade on the lake with fireworks over White Lake at approximately 9:30pm. Langlade County Community Ceramics, a non-profit painting group that meets every Monday and Friday from 9am-Noon at Sts. Mary & Hyacinth, Classroom 8, 819 3rd Ave., Antigo. Class cost is $3.00, to cover paint and anyone is welcome. We also take art-related field trips four times a year.
