Chelsea Kubiaczyk of Deerbrook recently participated in the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run Milwaukee Brewers Team Championship event June 16 at Miller Park. She placed third in the age 9-10 girls’ softball division.

In May, Kubiaczyk won the Eau Claire Sectionals for her division. After that event, she waited until all sectionals were completed to determine if her score was high enough to advance her to the Team Championship.

The Major League Baseball (MLB) Pitch Hit & Run is a skills competition of Major League Baseball for boys and girls ages 7-14. The program has a baseball and softball division and is free for all hosts and participants. Participants can advance through four levels of competition including Locals, Sectionals, Team Championships and the National Finals.

The top competitors nationwide from each age group (7-8, 9-10, 11-12 and 13-14) advance to the Scotts MLB Pitch, Hit & Run National Finals during MLB All-Star Week in Washington DC July 13-17, 2018.

Although Kubiaczyk does not advance to the National Finals, reaching the Team Championship is a great accomplishment. Congratulations, Chelsea, on your achievement.
